Chapter 21
After Lisandro finished speaking, he confidently flipped over his cards.
Three Ks.
The biggest cards besides three Aces.
It wasn't that Lisandro didn't want Vasco to help him get three Aces, but there were only two Aces in his pile of cards.
And even so, he had already won, because the other party couldn't possibly get bigger cards than three Ks.
At the same time, Murphy also flipped over his cards.
"Impossible!!" Lisandro stood up all of a sudden, "You cheated!"
Murphy saw that what was spread out in front of him were indeed the biggest three Aces.
Lisandro angrily spread out his remaining cards, "I have two Aces here, you couldn't possibly have gathered three Aces!"
Murphy glanced at the other party, "You might as well look at your cards carefully again, are you sure you have two Aces?"
Lisandro looked down and was dumbfounded.
Where are my Aces, where are my two big Aces!
He saw that there were cards of all suits and numbers in his spread-out pile, but Aces were nowhere to be seen.
This is impossible!
He had calculated it well when dividing the cards, two Aces on each side.
Did I make a mistake in my technique?
Cheating!
The other party must have cheated!
But the wand was still in the notary's hands, and the other party didn't touch the cards at all throughout the process, how did he do it?
"I won," Murphy said, and before Lisandro could refute, he took out another twenty Galleons from his pocket, placed them on the table, and pushed them over.
"What do you mean?" Lisandro was confused.
"A game, just to make a friend, fairness is not important, winning or losing is actually not that important, right?"
Lisandro hesitated for a while, and finally took the gold coins.
"Tell me, what help do you want me to give?"
"Can we talk alone?"
"No need for that much trouble!" Lisandro stood up, took the two wands from the notary's hands, and looked around at the people in the tavern, "The tavern is closed, all of you damn well get out!"
After a while, except for the bartender, only Lisandro and Murphy were left.
Lisandro held Murphy's wand but didn't return it, instead asking, "How exactly did you cheat?"
"It wouldn't be interesting if I told you," Murphy said, reaching out and grasping his own wand.
"This is my turf!" Lisandro warned.
Murphy glanced at him, "Do you want to win, or do you want money?"
The two glared at each other for a long time, and finally Lisandro let go.
"Can you say your purpose now?"
"I want potion materials, a lot of materials. I will acquire your medicinal materials at a price 10% higher than what you give the pharmacy, I'll take as many as you have, if you can get all the medicinal materials on the market and make those pharmacies in Diagon Alley have no medicine to use, I will give you another 10%."
Malfoy wants to mess with me, so if I don't cause him some trouble, wouldn't that be very impolite?
Lisandro was suspicious, "How much capital do you have?"
Murphy smiled, "Enough."
A quarter of an hour later, Murphy left the Siren's Song.
Lisandro sat quietly by the card table for a while. Suddenly, he looked at the bartender, "Master, should we agree to him?"
The bartender continued to wipe his glass, "If there's money, why not earn it?"
Lisandro nodded, "I understand."
After speaking, he couldn't help but reach out and flip over Murphy's cards.
Then he was stunned.
It was actually a full set of more than twenty Aces.
"This... what's going on? Magic? Wasn't his wand taken away?"
The bartender finished wiping the last glass, took a skull-shaped wine pot from under the bar, poured some scarlet liquid into the glass, picked it up, and took a light sip.
"Idiot, who said a wizard must only have one wand on him?"
Cheating is like magic, it looks mysterious, but once explained, it's actually not worth mentioning.
Murphy, who walked out of the tavern, re-inserted the wand he had seized from the bald wizard back into a conspicuous position on his waist.
And his own wand was hidden in a pocket in his left sleeve that was easy to draw from.
This was originally a preventive measure to prevent being disarmed, but he didn't expect the first practical use to be at the gambling table.
Just now, he took advantage of Lisandro controlling Vasco and being unable to be distracted, and used the wand hidden in his sleeve to cast Accio and Transfiguration on Lisandro's and his own card piles.
After finding the Aces in Lisandro's card pile with Accio, he transformed them into other ordinary cards, thereby eliminating the evidence of his cheating.
At the same time, he transformed all his cards into Aces, so no matter how Vasco chose, he could choose the biggest cards for him.
Under the circumstance that everyone thought his wand had been taken away, he used Lisandro's attractive performance moment as a cover, and no one actually discovered his cheating behavior.
This also made Murphy taste the sweetness of carrying an extra wand for the first time.
Using the bald wizard's wand had certain risks, but this was Knockturn Alley, and there were plenty of old wands.
After a while, he sold the bald wizard's wand and bought several second-hand wands with decent quality as backups.
Speaking of which, his own wand was bought by the original body at Ollivander's, and Ollivander remembered every wand he sold.
This was like a registered firearm; once it was used to commit a crime, it could be traced back to the person.
Is this good?
This is not good!
Murphy thought for a while, returned to Toad Cellar to buy a bottle of Shrinking Solution, then came to Diagon Alley, found a corner, and drank the potion in one breath.
A moment later, a black-haired boy walked into Ollivander's Wand Shop.
"Hello, is anyone there? I want to buy a wand?"
Ollivander poked his head out from behind the shelf, "Who wants to buy a wand?"
"It's me," the boy replied.
"Oh, how old are you?"
"Eleven, I'm going to Hogwarts next year, so I want to buy a wand."
"Of course, of course, what's your name?"
"Murphy Durkheim."
Ollivander was clearly stunned for a while, "Durkheim, ah, but, however..."
He looked at Murphy for a long time again, "That's right, I remember you, Murphy, your wand is made of cypress, twelve and a half inches, unicorn hair core, a very beautiful wand, as outstanding in appearance as you are... but, how come you..."
"Are you senile?" Murphy said, "I haven't bought a wand yet, pick one for me."
Ollivander was puzzled, seemingly unable to understand everything in front of him, but under Murphy's urging, he finally began to pick a wand for him.
"Try this one first, cypress, unicorn hair, twelve and a half inches, and your original one..."
"Bang!"
Before Ollivander could finish speaking, Murphy waved the wand, and a small pit exploded on the ground.
"Oh! Oh... well, this one won't do!"
"Then try this one..."
After trying five or six wands in a row, Murphy finally found one that was handy.
"Oh, this one is very good. It seems it chose you," Ollivander took Murphy's wand again, stroking it, "Aspen, fourteen inches, phoenix feather core... yes, I remember this wand, this combination is unusual, very rare... possessing both ultimate power and multifaceted control, this is a wand suitable for challengers and revolutionaries..."
"Extraordinary, Mr. Murphy, when you truly start using this wand, you will definitely accomplish an amazing career."
"Oh? Are you saying I will become a hero?"
