Chapter 1155

~6 min read 1,106 words

After Divination class ended, it was Umbridge's Defense Against the Dark Arts class. Darren didn't go, as usual; he didn't want to see Umbridge at all.

As for Umbridge, even though her memory had been wiped by him, making her think she had taught him a harsh lesson, she was still somewhat wary of him.

She didn't bother with him at all now.

She probably vented all her anger on Harry.

Of course, Harry always gave Umbridge opportunities to punish him. Sure enough.

As soon as this class ended.

Harry received detention again.

He hadn't intended to tell Darren, but Ron let it slip. Darren looked at Harry helplessly several times.

This made Harry feel extremely guilty.

He wanted to say that Darren was also standing up to Umbridge, but looking into Darren's eyes, he really couldn't bring himself to say it.

Fortunately, Darren didn't say anything either.

He just shook his head and sighed for a while, then got some potions for Harry.

Some of these potions were given to him by others, and some he had requested from Madam Pomfrey.

The effects were quite good.

Although they couldn't prevent Harry from getting scars, at least they made him feel less pain.

But because it didn't hurt as much, it made Harry even more reckless. He was now planning to provoke Umbridge in every class.

However, the person who made his plan hit a snag wasn't Darren, but Angelina.

Angelina was furious when she found out he had received detention from Umbridge yet again.

She shouted in the Great Hall, "Potter, do you even want to play Quidditch anymore? You haven't attended evening practice for a long time!"

Harry was extremely embarrassed.

He wanted Angelina to lower her voice, but she only got louder.

"Wood has left, and you know perfectly well that it's hard for me to manage all this alone, yet you're still causing trouble along with them!"

"Angelina, what are you doing? Who told you to shout in the Great Hall? Ten points from Gryffindor!"

It was Professor McGonagall.

She walked down, looking furious.

"In the entire Great Hall, we Gryffindors are the loudest. I think you shouldn't have forgotten that we haven't won the House Cup in many years!"

She said angrily.

Angelina pointed at Harry and said through gritted teeth, "Professor, he has received detention again, he is affecting..."

"That is no reason for you to be shouting here, go back!"

Professor McGonagall glared at Angelina.

Angelina huffed at Harry. Then she turned and left.

Professor McGonagall turned her face toward Harry.

She said with a flushed face, "So, after I warned you, you have received another detention?"

Harry nodded guiltily.

But he still said angrily, "She won't let us use our wands..."

"But she is a professor. I think if you talk back to a professor again, I will give you detention too!"

"Professor!"

Harry looked at Professor McGonagall in disbelief. Professor McGonagall nodded firmly.

"That's right, just as you think. If you do that again, even if Darren doesn't say anything about you, I will definitely deal with you!"

"Don't think I don't know what method you used; Darren didn't say anything about you!"

Professor McGonagall left as well.

Harry stared in the direction she left, almost crying with frustration.

He had finally managed to persuade Darren, but now, his obstacle had become Professor McGonagall.

Fortunately, apart from Angelina and Professor McGonagall, no one else had any possibility of criticizing what he had been doing lately.

Of course, it was also possible that they wanted to criticize Harry, but Harry simply ignored them.

Harry had been angry at Professor McGonagall the whole time.

But the next day, in Transfiguration class, when he saw Umbridge, all his anger was forgotten.

Umbridge had come to observe Professor McGonagall's class. Harry's spirits lifted immediately.

He quietly observed Professor McGonagall.

But Professor McGonagall acted as if she didn't see Umbridge at all; she handed out the assignments as usual.

Then she had Seamus hand out a box of mice as well.

"In the last lesson, we checked the use of the Vanishing Spell on snails. Very good, now everyone can make the snails vanish, even Mr. Longbottom has met my requirements."

"Ahem!"

Umbridge coughed loudly, trying to get Professor McGonagall's attention. But Professor McGonagall ignored her completely.

She continued to say to the students, "Today, our learning focus is..."

"Ahem, ahem, ahem!"

Umbridge reminded her again.

Professor McGonagall finally looked at her, her eyebrows furrowing. "Yes?"

"I think you should have received my inspection request; I notified you of the date and time."

"Of course I received it, otherwise I would have asked what you are doing here!"

Professor McGonagall said bluntly.

Then she turned to look at all the students.

"Making a snail vanish is just a simple application of the Vanishing Spell, because snails..."

"Ahem! Ahem! Ahem!"

Umbridge coughed again. Professor McGonagall turned and glared at her.

"I hope you will not disturb me again, otherwise how will you know what my teaching quality is like?"

"Also, when I am speaking, I usually do not allow others to interrupt me!"

Professor McGonagall said sternly.

Umbridge looked as disgusted as if she had eaten shit. Darren almost laughed out loud.

Then he noticed Professor McGonagall wink at him. Harry even showed a mischievous smile.

He whispered, "And she said she wouldn't let me argue with her!"

But he was clearly much happier, and his anger toward Professor McGonagall had disappeared.

"Very well, as I said before I was interrupted, snails are invertebrates, making them vanish is very simple... In this lesson, we need to make mice vanish. Look, Darren succeeded! Ten points to Slytherin!"

For two full Transfiguration lessons, Umbridge didn't move around at all.

Because she knew that Professor McGonagall didn't allow her to speak, and clearly wouldn't allow her to walk around at will either.

When Professor McGonagall told all the students to stand up and leave, Umbridge stood up with a dark face as well.

"How many years have you been teaching at Hogwarts?"

Umbridge still wanted to take the opportunity to intimidate Professor McGonagall. But Professor McGonagall said impatiently.

"Almost thirty-nine years. If there is nothing else, I am leaving, I have another class!"

Umbridge was so angry her face turned red. She slammed her notebook shut.

She said angrily, "You will receive the investigation results within ten days..."

"As you wish!"

Darren watched Umbridge rush out.

He was just about to say goodbye when he saw Professor McGonagall walk over and say with a low laugh, "How about it? Did you vent your anger?"

"Of course!"
