Chapter 351
At Hogwarts’ Christmas feast, everyone ate with great enjoyment.
Including Wizard Sean, who would be traveling soon.
After reading the introduction to Ilvermorny Castle, Wizard Sean naturally turned to studying the Enlargement Charm inscription.
A new question arose—what kind of container should he choose?
Most wizards chose simple, portable storage spaces like boxes—Newt, for example, and Professor Tera both did so;
The rest had bizarre choices: some inscribed the Enlargement Charm on robe pockets, others on bags, and Mr. Weasley once chose to inscribe it on the trunk of his flying car.
Though this was not urgent, since Wizard Sean had only just unlocked the Enlargement Charm and had only just received some precious materials from Professor Tera.
But Wizard Sean knew his time was limited.
He had to master the making of an Enlargement Bag as soon as possible, so he could proceed to learn how to create living environments and climates.
This involved stable weather charms and transfiguration, and the undisputed master in this field was the old Hufflepuff senior.
The thought of meeting Mr. Newt at Ilvermorny yet being unable to ask him for advice made Wizard Sean feel he was missing a golden opportunity.
Thus, crafting an Enlargement Object became Wizard Sean’s top priority; while the feast was still ongoing, he practiced endlessly on a matchbox:
【You practiced the Enlargement Charm at beginner level once, proficiency +3】
【You practiced the Enlargement Charm at beginner level once, proficiency +3】
……
【Enlargement Charm: Beginner (250/300)】
The past week’s efforts were not in vain; with Wizard Sean focusing solely on one spell, the Enlargement Charm was nearly mastered.
The feast ended with the young witches and wizards’ bellies full.
Wizard Sean saw the young witches and wizards leaving.
“See you tomorrow, Wizard Sean.”
Harry and Ron yawned as they bid Wizard Sean farewell.
“See you after Christmas break.”
Wizard Sean nodded.
“What do you mean, ‘see you after Christmas break’?”
Ron was baffled, but he was too tired to ask further and left with Harry, who was equally exhausted.
The Castle Cat Club had a big event tonight—he had to hurry back to Harry and rest a bit, or he’d miss it.
After all, it was the Christmas-arriving Castle Cat.
Maybe he’d really see it on Christmas!
Just thinking of it made him excited.
At the portrait entrance, they saw Sir Cadogan enjoying Christmas dinner with two or three monks, several former Headmasters of Hogwarts, and his fat little gray-and-spotted pony.
He pushed his helmet up and raised a jug of honeywine in greeting.
“Merry—uh—Christmas! Fat Lady’s drunk—I’m asking you—the password?”
“Filthy mongrel.”
Ron said.
“Same to you, sir!”
Sir Cadogan shouted, and the portrait sprang forward, letting them in.
Near the North Tower, close to Gryffindor Tower, the alchemy office door opened silently.
Wizard Sean knew Professor Tera had many offices in Hogwarts—she often worked in different ones for different tasks.
She even participated in Hogwarts Castle repairs.
But he had never been here—
This place was like a teleportation node inside the Ministry, with at least five fireplaces, all connected to the Floo Network, burning green flames.
The walls and ceiling were made of rough stone, rounded, with green-glowing lamps hanging from chains.
Directly ahead, beneath an intricately carved fireplace mantel, a fire crackled, illuminating Professor Tera’s joyful face:
“Come, my student. Remember the trick to Floo powder? Don’t mispronounce it. It’s Ilvermorny Castle—”
With that, the professor grabbed Wizard Sean and strode to the fireplace, scooping a handful of glittering powder from a bottle on the mantel and tossing it into the flames.
Green flames swiftly swallowed both of them.
……
Ilvermorny Castle stands atop Mount Greylock, now blanketed in snow.
In this white world, within a stone hut, an abandoned fireplace suddenly burst into flame.
From the fire emerged two weary wizards.
After multiple transfers, Wizard Sean finally saw this…
Castle?
Wizard Sean looked around in confusion, confirming the surroundings were nothing but snow-covered rocks.
He turned back—he had stepped out of a simple stone hut.
“A stone hut fireplace? Eugenia Herrera, truly thoughtful…”
Professor Tera seemed well-acquainted with the stone hut; she was now examining the runic symbols carved upon it.
“My student, do you know where this is?”
Professor Tera could not resist the runic symbols on the hut—she snapped her fingers, and a softened stone gently pushed Wizard Sean forward to stand before the hut.
“The stone cottage built by Isolt Sayre and her Muggle husband James Stewart.”
Wizard Sean thought for two seconds and replied.
This was, in fact, the original form of Ilvermorny Magical School—the very place where the two founders first began teaching.
“I don’t recall this being common knowledge—remarkable wisdom!”
At that moment, a unfamiliar voice spoke; Wizard Sean turned to see an elderly witch.
She had hair as silver as moonlight, tied neatly into a simple bun, with a few unruly curls falling beside her ears.
Strangely, her robe was blue and berry-red, lending her an unusual aura.
“Dear Mr. Hermes, you’ve finally arrived at Ilvermorny Castle, long awaited.”
The Headmistress spoke warmly, with a touch of excitement.
The Headmistress’s enthusiasm left Wizard Sean stunned—she was about to reach out and take his hand.
At that moment, Professor Tera, lost in the runic symbols, stepped between them, her eyes gleaming with danger:
“Eugenia Herrera, stay three feet away from my student.”
Aware of the old alchemists’ protective traditions, Headmistress Herrera actually stepped back two paces.
After all, those who dared to target an old alchemist’s student were truly risking their lives.
Especially Tera, the second greatest after Nicolas Flamel—this title didn’t just signify her alchemical prowess; it proved her combat ability in defending her creations.
“Calm down, Olivia, we’ve been friends for fifty years.”
Headmistress Herrera smiled.
“Yes, and in fifty years, you’ve never had a worthy student.”
Professor Tera’s expression was… peculiar.
Silence fell before the stone hut for a long while, until Headmistress Herrera finally glared at Professor Tera in exasperation:
“Let’s not revisit old matters—you’ve arrived just in time; the statues are still awake…”
