Chapter 400: Harry vs Voldemort
Densely packed.
Death Eaters surged from all directions like locusts, densely surrounding the entire field, and even on the other side of the castle countless Death Eaters and Dark Magic Creatures appeared.
This is the entirety of the forces Voldemort has summoned from all over the Europe Continent.
Not counting the manpower he has expended in the Europe turmoil.
It seems Voldemort has truly poured out his nest this time, determined to win.
John hid behind Hermione.
He still presents himself as John, and must not let Voldemort discover he is still alive.
Only after the outcome between Harry and Voldemort is known will he act.
On the Corridor Bridge side, after Voldemort brought the Death Eaters out, Professor Maige and the others retreated back into the Corridor Bridge.
Inside the castle there is a powerful defensive magic formation; staying there is much safer than breaking out.
So the Death Eaters basically surrounded the few people here at Hagrid's Hut.
Voldemort stood at the forefront of the Death Eaters, his gaze fixed on Harry, a cruel smile curling at the corner of his mouth.
He slowly stepped forward two steps, opened his arms, and spoke as if giving a lecture.
"Harry Bo Te, for this day I have waited far too long."
"From the first time you escaped my Killing Curse to now standing before me, I have grown weary of this endless entanglement."
"Today, right here, everything will end."
"Either you die, or I perish."
Voldemort's voice echoed across the open field, the Death Eaters waited silently, and a suffocating killing intent permeated the air.
Harry gripped his wand tightly, his gaze calm as he locked eyes with Voldemort.
"Voldemort," Harry's voice clear and firm, overriding the wind and the murderous atmosphere, "you're right, today everything will end."
"But not in the way you expect!"
Harry stepped forward, passing Ginny and Ron beside him, to face Voldemort alone.
Seeing Harry actually dare to step forward and confront him, Voldemort let out a cold laugh.
"Courage commendable, but foolish to the extreme."
Voldemort raised his wand, pointing it at Harry: "Do you really think, with your paltry abilities, you could defeat me?"
The surrounding Death Eaters burst into loud laughter, as if they'd heard the funniest joke.
Harry remained unmoved.
He directly raised his wand and shouted at Voldemort.
"Voldemort, your aim is rule, not slaughter, right?"
"If we duel one-on-one and I lose, you may do with me as you wish, and Hogwarts will be yours, but I hope you won't harm others."
"If you lose, take your people and get out of Hogwarts, never to return."
Hearing Harry's arrogant words, Voldemort couldn't help but lower his head and laugh hysterically, his shoulders shaking.
"Oh, the boy who lived intends to sacrifice himself for Hogwarts?"
Voldemort raised his head, his scarlet eyes full of scorn.
"You think I'd accept such a ridiculous proposal?"
"A duel? Fine."
"If you lose, as long as you surrender, I can spare those people's lives...... but I will kill every one of the family and friends you care about."
"As for me losing, though impossible, I will still let my army raze Hogwarts!"
The Death Eaters raised their wands high, letting out deafening cheers, and green sparks shot from the wand tips, illuminating the gloomy sky.
Voldemort's smile grew more hideous, while Harry's face fell.
However, Harry didn't say anything more, merely raised his hand to signal Ginny and the others behind him to retreat, then stood alone in the center of the field.
Voldemort let out a cold laugh, waved his hand, and the surrounding Death Eaters retreated, clearing an open battlefield.
Before the duel began, Voldemort raised his wand high, and a Sealing Spell descended, cutting off the possibility for Harry and those behind him to escape using the Door Key.
"Are you ready, Harry Bo Te?"
Voldemort's voice echoed across the open field, carrying a serpent-like hiss.
Harry took a deep breath, raised his wand, and assumed a stance.
The two locked eyes, and the surrounding air seemed to solidify.
The Death Eaters' laughter gradually faded, replaced by an oppressive silence.
The duel was about to erupt.
"Expelliarmus!"
Harry struck first, a red light shooting from his wand tip straight at Voldemort.
Voldemort contemptuously flicked his wand; the Disarm Spell, upon contacting his wand, was directly deflected.
"Piercing Heart and Bone!" Voldemort backhanded struck, a red light flashed, and Harry, quick-eyed and quick-footed, dodged.
"Thunderclap Explosion!" Having just rolled to his feet, Harry hurled an explosive spell.
Voldemort swung his wand to block, and the explosion was once again deflected by his wand.
"Shatter to Dust!" Voldemort waved his wand, a blue light shot straight at Harry.
"Multitudinous Obstacles!"
A thick earth wall rose, barely blocking Voldemort's spell.
The earth wall shattered with a boom under the spell's impact, stones scattering, but Harry had already seized the moment to roll to the other side.
"Divine Edge Unseen!"
An invisible blade sliced through the air, but Voldemort didn't move; a mercury-like barrier flowed from his left arm, blocking the attack.
"You have indeed become stronger, Harry Bo Te." Voldemort's voice held a hint of surprise, but mostly contempt: "Too bad, you're still far behind."
Saying that, Voldemort ceased playing around and swung his wand violently.
A massive surge of Fierce Fire spewed from the tip of his wand, forming a huge Fire Snake.
The Fire Snake opened its bloody maw, hurling a scorching heat wave toward Harry.
Harry swiftly swung his wand.
"Clear Water Like Spring!"
A water column shot from the tip of his wand, meeting the Fire Snake. At the moment water and fire collided, steam filled the air, emitting a piercing hiss.
But the Fierce Fire clearly had the upper hand, pressing the water column forward; the Fire Snake's huge jaws drew ever closer, and the scorching heat wave had already made Harry's cheeks burn.
He gritted his teeth, and in the next instant the Fire Snake swallowed him whole.
"Harry!!"
The people in front of Hagrid's Hut cried out in alarm.
After the flames dissipated, an Earth Mound slowly cracked open, and Harry crawled out from within.
He was completely scorched black, his clothes reduced to rags.
Although he barely managed to block that strike, he was clearly spent.
Voldemort let out a cold laugh.
"It's over, Harry Bo Te."
He slowly raised his wand, aiming the tip at Harry's chest, and a sickly green glow ignited at the tip.
The people in Hagrid's Hut had already despairingly closed their eyes; Ginny wanted to rush forward, but Ron held her back tightly.
John watched the scene, taking no action, merely watching silently.
However, his wand had silently slipped into his palm.
"Avada Kedavra!"
A sickly green ray shot from Voldemort's wand tip, striking Harry's chest directly.
Harry offered no resistance, or rather, could not resist.
The green light struck him.
Harry was flung backward, slammed heavily to the ground, and lay motionless.
Before Voldemort could even savor his victory, he suddenly felt a wave of dizziness in his head.
This feeling was exactly like when John had destroyed a Horcrux right in front of him before.
Before he could figure out what was happening,
the next second—
Sizz—!!
Voldemort's chest suddenly erupted with a Bloodline Surge!
At some point, an invisible slash had already pierced his chest...
