Chapter 162: Two Scripts
On the set of "The God of Gamblers," a black Rolls-Royce slowly rolled into the frame. The door opened, and a gleaming leather shoe stepped out. The camera slowly panned up—a crisp black suit, a meticulously combed-back hairstyle. Xiang Fei, playing "The God of Gamblers" Gao Jin, curled his lips slightly, his eyes sharp and piercing.
The entire set held its breath.
Wang Jing, behind the monitor, rubbed his hands excitedly: "Perfect! That's the aura!"
"Who said that?"
"Cut! One take!" Wang Jing jumped up. "Brother Fei, with this acting, it's a pity you won't win Best Actor!"
Xiang Fei loosened his tie and smiled: "Stop sucking up. Let's finish filming and wrap up."
Just then, a commotion erupted outside the set.
"Long Wu has arrived!" the stagehand shouted.
There stood Xiang Qiang in a black trench coat and sunglasses, striding in with the gait of a dragon and the step of a tiger, followed by several bodyguards in black.
Xiang Qiang took off his sunglasses and coolly said: "Here to play Long Wu."
The entire set erupted in shock.
Late at night, in the study of the Repulse Bay villa.
Xiang Fei bent over the desk, writing furiously. The fountain pen scratched against the paper, and the ashtray was piled high with cigarette butts.
Zhou Huimin entered with a cup of hot milk and said with concern: "Still not sleeping?"
"I'll sleep after finishing this scene," Xiang Fei said without looking up. "The script for 'The God of Gamblers 2' must be finished before returning to the mainland."
Zhou Huimin's eyes lit up: "Is there a romance scene?"
"Yes, and it's very heartbreaking," Xiang Fei grinned mischievously. "Want to make a cameo? Play a mysterious female gambler?"
Zhou Huimin pouted and punched him lightly: "I don't want to play your lover!"
Xiang Fei laughed heartily and casually pulled out another stack of scripts: "By the way, I'll also write 'The God of Gamblers 3'. Let Zhou Xingxing travel back to old Shanghai and have a gamble with Ding Li."
Zhou Huimin was stunned: "You're writing two scripts in one night?"
"No problem," Xiang Fei stretched. "Call Liu Zhenwei tomorrow and let him take over 'The God of Gamblers 2'."
The next day at noon, in the Eternal Prosperity meeting room.
Liu Zhenwei, with messy hair like a bird's nest and sleepy eyes, pushed the door open: "Xiang Shao, calling me so urgently..."
Xiang Fei slammed the script onto the table in front of him: "'The God of Gamblers 2'. You direct."
Liu Zhenwei instantly woke up: "Me?! Where's Wang Jing?"
"He's filming 'The God of Gamblers' and can't spare the time," Xiang Fei poured him a cup of coffee. "Aren't you free recently?"
Liu Zhenwei flipped through the script quickly, growing more and more excited: "Revenge for a grudge! Killing wife and children! Final revenge at the casino! This plot is explosive!"
Xiang Fei nodded in satisfaction: "I'll still be the lead. Uncle Qiang continues to play Long Wu, and Wu Xingguo will play Qiu Xiaochi."
"Wu Xingguo?" Liu Zhenwei frowned. "Is he willing to play a villain?"
"Tell him this villain is more charming than the hero," Xiang Fei said confidently. "And the salary will be doubled."
Liu Zhenwei rubbed his hands: "What about the female lead?"
"Sandra Ng, Wu Qianlian, and Maggie Cheung," Xiang Fei answered without hesitation.
Just as they were speaking, Xiang Qiang pushed the door open: "A-Fei, Mr. Ho from Macau has agreed to lend us his casino for filming."
Xiang Fei's eyes lit up: "Great! Tell the art department to replicate Mr. Ho Hung-sun's VIP suite exactly. By the way, Uncle Qiang, I plan to have Tony Leung Ka-fai play Xiao Fangfang, Wu Qianlian play Xiao Yaoyao, Maggie Cheung will still play my wife, Gordon Liu will play Hao Jingzhong, and Sandra Ng will play Hai Tang. Oh, and I heard there's a young actor named Xie Miao; bring him over to play Hai Yuan, Sandra Ng's younger brother."
Listening to Xiang Fei's reply, Xiang Qiang asked nervously, "Does this drama have Long Wu?"
Xiang Fei chuckled and replied, "Of course. Brother Long Wu and Gao Jin are brothers who would die for each other."
Xiang Qiang's face instantly dropped. He thought to himself, I'm the boss, yet I still have to do an actor's job. What a bitter life. A-Fei is ruining me.
"I'll let A-Sheng handle these matters." Without turning back, Xiang Qiang walked out.
