Chapter 163: The Future of Xinyian
In the Yongsheng Pictures office, Xiang Sheng clutched the letter written in Xiang Fei's own hand, his brow furrowed.
"Ah Min continues as his wife? Leung Ka-fai plays Xiao Fangfang? Ng Chien-lin plays Xiao Yaoyao? Yu Kam-keung plays Hao Jingzhong? Kiu Shu-chen plays Haitang? Wu Hsing-kuo plays Chou Xiaochi? And we need a kid named Xie Miao to play Haiyuan?"
He slammed his fist on the desk: "Is this kid really treating me as his casting assistant director?!"
He thought for a moment, then sighed—what could he do? After all, the boy was his nephew, who not only pleased the old man but also helped cover for his little uncle, and Ah Min had been constantly praising Ah Fei lately.
Send someone to book appointments with Leung Ka-fai and Ng Chien-lin. Xiang Sheng removed his gold-rimmed glasses and rubbed his eyes as he called out to the door.
"Yes, Boss Xiang."
That evening, at Xiang Fei's villa.
Wang Jing held the script for "The Legend of the Condor Heroes 2," dancing with excitement: "Time-travel back to Shanghai? Zhou Xingxing meets Ding Li? This concept is brilliant!"
Xiang Fei sipped tea calmly: "It's yours. Start shooting after 'The Conman' is finished."
Wang Jing leaned in suddenly: "What about 'The God of Gamblers 2'..."
"Lau Chun-wai is already preparing it."
Wang Jing's face fell instantly: "I knew it! Ah Fei, you're biased!"
"Don't give me that." Xiang Fei laughed and scolded, "The 'The Legend of the Condor Heroes' series has always been your trademark."
In the bedroom, Zhou Huimin was arranging the trophies from her new album.
Xiang Fei embraced her from behind: "Big star, how does it feel?"
"Stop it." Zhou Huimin blushed, "It's just because you write such good songs."
"It's because you sing them so well." Xiang Fei kissed the tip of her hair, "There's a charity gala next month—will you attend?"
Zhou Huimin hesitated: "What about Yangyang?"
"The old man's taking care of him. That kid's ruling the Xiang family estate right now."
As they spoke, the phone rang. The old man's booming voice came through: "Ah Fei! Your son broke my treasured purple clay teapot!"
At Yongsheng rehearsal room, nine-year-old Xie Miao was performing a martial arts routine.
Xiang Sheng stroked his chin: "Kid, do you know who you're playing?"
"Haiyuan, Haitang's younger brother!" Xie Miao replied solemnly, "I'll protect my sister!"
Kiu Shu-chen couldn't help pinching his cheek: "So cute! Big sister will look out for you!"
Leung Ka-fai crouched down: "If someone bullies your sister in the movie, what'll you do?"
Xie Miao's eyes sharpened: "I'll beat him with Shaolin staff techniques!"
Everyone burst into laughter. Xiang Sheng declared: "You're hired!"
At the Xiang family estate, Yangyang was riding on Wu Li's shoulders, picking lychees.
Xiang Fei and Zhou Huimin walked into the courtyard; Yangyang immediately shouted: "Ah! Ah!"
The old man grunted: "So you finally remember to come back?"
Zhou Huimin quickly offered the gift: "Grandpa, this is a new tea set I bought for you."
The old man's expression softened slightly: "Hui Min, I listened to your new album—it's far better than those young kids' stuff!"
Xiang Fei picked up his son: "Brat, did you miss Dad?"
Yangyang hugged his neck: "Baba!"
Everyone laughed heartily. Under the setting sun, the image of three generations together was especially warm.
Xiang Yan walked over to Xiang Fei. "You're becoming more outstanding, son," he said, leaning against the railing with his wine glass. "What do you think Xinyian should do in four years?"
"Start a security company. Bring all the Xinyian brothers onboard," Xiang Fei said calmly, lifting his wine glass. "Expand into new directions, integrate resources."
Xiang Yan heard this, his eyes lighting up instantly as he looked at his son, a surge of pride rising within him.
