Chapter 212: Sister Mei

~3 min read 587 words

Mei Yanfang stood at the center of the stage, about to deliver her closing remarks, when an unfamiliar piano intro suddenly sounded.

She turned in confusion toward the band, and the musicians shook their heads, equally bewildered. The audience below began whispering, unsure what was happening.

At that moment, the large screen behind the stage lit up, revealing a line of text:

【Give You a Little Red Flower】

A spotlight struck the side of the stage as Xiang Fei led Xiang Yang forward slowly.

Xiang Fei raised the microphone, his clear voice echoing through the Hong Kong Coliseum:

"Give you a little red flower, blooming on the new branch you grew yesterday..."

Mei Yanfang widened her eyes, nearly dropping the microphone: "Ah Fei?"

Leslie Cheung also froze, instinctively adjusting his glasses: "When did Ah Fei arrive?"

Xiang Yang removed his mask and sang the next line in a child's sweet voice:

"Give you a little red flower, covering the new scar you gained today..."

Zhou Huimin was the only one who knew; she stood aside, her eyes slightly red as she watched her husband and son.

The stars on stage were utterly stunned. Eason Chan covered her mouth; Leon Lai stood dumbfounded, mouth agape; Leslie Cheung walked unconsciously to the piano, studied the sheet music, and began playing accompaniment.

The audience below fell silent for a moment, then erupted into deafening cheers. Flashbulbs ignited into a sea of stars, illuminating the entire Hong Kong Coliseum.

Xiang Fei continued singing:

"White as snow, the sandy shore, calm and still, the lake's waters..."

His voice was gentle yet resolute, as if telling a moving story.

When all the musicians stopped playing, the hall fell so quiet you could hear every breath. Xiang Yang sang the final line alone, his pure child's voice ringing clear:

"Give you a little red flower, blooming where sheep and cattle roam the far horizon."

The song ended, and the Hong Kong Coliseum sank into brief silence.

Three seconds later, thunderous applause erupted. Mei Yanfang rushed forward first, embracing Xiang Fei tightly, her eyes damp: "You said you weren't coming!"

Xiang Fei patted her back gently: "Sister Mei, don't you remember? I promised you—back when I first debuted."

Zhou Huimin picked up Xiang Yang, and the little boy eagerly asked: "Mummy, did I sing well?"

The audience below, hearing the child's innocent words, burst into laughter.

Xiang Yang turned to Leslie Cheung and reached out his small hand: "Godfather, hug me!"

Leslie Cheung quickly took him, pinching his cheek affectionately: "You sang better than Godfather!"

Eason Chan walked over and playfully punched Xiang Fei's shoulder: "Ah Fei, you've made so many movies—why haven't you given me a role? Did you forget we were old rivals from the competition?"

She blinked, then added: "Even if no role, at least write me a song!"

Laughter swelled from the audience. Xiang Fei nodded helplessly: "Alright, alright, I'll write one."

Leon Lai stepped before Xiang Fei and bowed respectfully: "Brother Fei."

Xiang Fei smiled and patted his shoulder: "Good, Jacky's a king now."

Leon Lai smiled shyly: "All thanks to Brother Fei's early guidance."

Surrounded by everyone, Mei Yanfang wiped her tears and raised the microphone: "This is my best gift ever!"

After the concert ended, Xiang Yang was asleep in Xiang Fei's arms. Zhou Huimin gently smoothed her son's hair and asked softly: "How long did you prepare?"

Xiang Fei looked at his wife's tender profile: "Since the day you left for Kunlun Divine Palace, I've been preparing."
