Chapter 222: Concert 5
Xiang Fei strode back to the center of the stage, casually wiped the sweat from his forehead, and smiled into the microphone:
"I went backstage for a bit, had a drink of water, and I feel recharged!"
Cheers and whistles immediately erupted from the audience below.
Xiang Fei scanned the entire venue and deliberately played coy: "As for the next song, you all always say it's my breakthrough hit..." He paused, extending the microphone toward the crowd, "Come on, tell me loudly—which song is it?"
"Liar!!!" Eighty thousand voices shouted in unison, nearly blowing the roof off the Red House.
"Great!" Xiang Fei snapped his fingers. "Now I'm going to pick one audience member to come up on stage and sing this song with me!"
As his words fell, the stage lights began sweeping randomly across the venue, and the audience waved their hands frantically, screaming.
The beam finally stopped on the VIP section—on a yellow-haired man wearing sunglasses, with an elegant lady seated beside him.
When the close-up shot appeared on the big screen, a sudden gasp erupted from the venue:
"It's Ronald!"
"It's the Crown Prince Ji!!!"
Ronald Cheng smiled, took off his sunglasses, and walked onto the stage guided by the staff. He extended his hand to Xiang Fei: "Nice to meet you; I've long heard of your fame, Guide Xiang."
Xiang Fei took his hand and said with a smile: "I never expected Ronald to come watch my concert!"
The two stood at the center of the stage, chatting warmly like brothers separated for many years. Ronald Cheng joked: "I originally planned to sneak in and listen to the whole show, but you caught me and brought me up."
Xiang Fei laughed and said: "This is fate!"
The intro to "Liar" began, and Ronald Cheng skillfully picked up a spare microphone.
When they sang the line "Sometimes I get drunk and love freedom," the two turned their backs to each other in perfect sync, drawing continuous screams from the audience below.
During the instrumental break, Ronald Cheng suddenly improvised a new lyric: "Ah Fei invited me, and I came immediately." Xiang Fei reacted instantly, replying: "Because everyone knows Ronald is loyal." This improvised interaction pushed the venue's atmosphere to its peak.
When the song ended, Ronald Cheng put his arm around Xiang Fei's shoulder and said: "We must collaborate sometime, Ah Fei."
Xiang Fei nodded with a smile: "It will definitely happen!"
Ronald Cheng made an OK sign without turning back, and the audience erupted in good-natured laughter.
Xiang Fei turned to the audience, making a disgusted face: "Hey, hey, hey, why did you suddenly get so quiet? Don't tell me you're sleepy! Cheer up, don't lose face, everyone!"
Immediately, shouts rose from below in waves: "We aren't sleepy!!!"
"Good!" Xiang Fei suddenly raised his right hand. "For the next song, everyone who knows it, sing along!"
The rousing intro to "Red Sun" suddenly blared, and the entire audience jumped up as if a switch had been flipped.
When they sang the line "Fate may be turbulent and wandering," Xiang Fei thrust the microphone hard toward the audience; the roar of eighty thousand voices singing together made the entire Red House shake. The big screen swept across the audience section, revealing that Andy Lau, Tony Leung Chiu-wai, Carina Lau, and Lin Zhengying were all swaying to the rhythm.
After the song, Xiang Fei looked at the audience with a smile and joked, "I'm a bit tired, everyone." Xiang Fei drank two mouthfuls of water, then poured the mineral water over his head. Just then, a spotlight hit him; Xiang Fei had already taken off his shirt, revealing eight-pack abs, which caused the female audience members to scream. Panting, he laughed: "Wow, you've given me so much face, then I really have to step up my game!"
