Chapter 223: Concert 6
The stage lights dimmed gradually, and Xiang Fei stood under the spotlight, his tone suddenly softening:
"As I walked this path, there was a wonderful older sister..." He paused, his voice carrying sincerity, "Before I was famous, she was always helping me. Now I am famous, but I will never forget her."
The audience downstairs immediately realized, shouting in unison:
"Anita!!!"
"Sister Mei!!!"
Xiang Fei nodded with a smile: "That's right, let us welcome—my Sister Mei, Anita Mui!"
As the piano prelude of "Song of the Sunset" slowly began to play, Anita Mui, in a long red dress, walked elegantly onto the stage. She first waved to the audience:
"Hello, everyone, Xiang Fei's fans, good evening~ I am Anita."
A simple greeting instantly ignited the entire venue. Screams and applause surged like a tide. Anita Mui smiled and looked at Xiang Fei: "Ah Fei, after so many years, you are still so good at stirring emotions."
Xiang Fei scratched his head, showing a rare shy expression: "Sister Mei, to be honest... thank you. From the moment I met you until now, you have always taken care of me and Ah Min."
Anita Mui waved her hand, pretending to be disgusted: "Stop being so cheesy! Sing!"
The stage lights turned warm yellow, and the large screen displayed photos of Anita Mui and Xiang Fei over the years—hugs backstage at award ceremonies, playful antics on film sets, smiles at private dinners...
The two stood in the center of the stage, singing a duet with deep emotion:
"The setting sun is endless and helpless, only a moment of brilliance..."
Anita Mui's smoky voice was weathered yet deep with emotion, while Xiang Fei's voice was clear and firm. The two voices intertwined, as if telling a story of an era that could never be replicated.
When singing the chorus, Anita Mui habitually reached for her pocket to take out a cigarette, suddenly realizing this was a stage, and she laughed first. Xiang Fei laughed along too, but quickly adjusted his state and continued singing.
The audience downstairs spontaneously turned on their phone flashlights, turning the entire Hong Kong Coliseum into a gentle sea of stars.
After the song ended, Anita Mui patted Xiang Fei's shoulder: "Alright, I won't waste your time; there are other guests waiting below!"
Xiang Fei suddenly pulled her: "Sister Mei, next time we play mahjong, I promise I won't peek at your cards!"
Anita Mui turned back and glared at him: "Don't hold your breath believing that!"
Amidst the laughter of the entire venue, Anita Mui waved her hand gracefully and exited, her back still exuding an aura of dominance.
The stage was left with only Xiang Fei again. He wiped his sweat, suddenly took off his already soaked shirt, revealing his muscular upper body, causing continuous screams from the audience downstairs.
"Let me tell you a secret..." He lowered his voice with a mischievous smile, "Once, I was filming in the US, and Ah Min was back home. We had a huge fight across the Pacific Ocean over a small matter."
The audience immediately perked up their ears, faces full of gossip.
"In the end, neither convinced the other..." Xiang Fei shrugged, "But do you know what? In the end, I was the one who bowed my head—" He paused, "I directly bought a plane ticket, flew over ten hours back to apologize."
Instantly, a chorus of "Wow~" of teasing rose from the audience downstairs; many female audience members covered their mouths, their eyes filled with envy.
Xiang Fei smiled and shook his head: "Don't laugh! At that time on the plane, I was even thinking, what if she wouldn't forgive me?"
The prelude of "Crossing the Ocean to See You" slowly began to play. Xiang Fei sat on the edge of the stage, his voice becoming gentle:
"For you, I used half a year's savings, crossing the ocean to see you..."
When singing "In the sky filled with sand and dust, watching you leave, I was so sad I couldn't control myself," his gaze unconsciously drifted toward the backstage entrance—there, Zhou Huimin was hugging her arms, smiling and watching him.
The camera captured this moment, and the large screen immediately cut to a close-up of Zhou Huimin. The entire audience emitted a friendly sound of teasing.
During the chorus part, Xiang Fei stood up, walked toward the front of the stage, and sang with deep emotion facing the audience seats:
"Oh, the strange city, in the familiar corners..."
The chorus of eighty thousand people echoed through the Hong Kong Coliseum; many couples leaned against each other, swaying gently to the rhythm.
