Chapter 13: Subduing the Evil Infant, Saving the Maid

Inside the Lailai Hotel, Partridge Whistle rubbed her hands together, her face flushed with desire as she said, "Ah-Sheng, I have serious business to attend to later, so why don't you go out and play for a while?"

Zhang Cheng remembered that Uncle Nine was going to lose his virginity today, so he nodded and said, "Alright, I'll head back to the villa first and keep an eye on the Ghost Servant."

An hour later, Uncle Nine arrived at the Lailai Hotel. At the thought of how Partridge Whistle had seduced him earlier, he began to get cold feet. However, he needed Partridge Whistle to deal with the Evil Infant, so for the sake of Lian, he could only steel himself and go inside.

Seeing Uncle Nine walk into the room, Partridge Whistle laughed excitedly, "Hahaha, Lin Jiuying, so you have a day like this too!"

Without a word, Uncle Nine took off his clothes, bathed, and lay on the bed, saying, "How do you plan to arrange things for me in the future?"

Partridge Whistle waved her hand and said, "Hahaha, let's not talk about that for now; the serious business is what matters!"

"Sigh!" A tear slid from the corner of Uncle Nine's eye.

However, Uncle Nine was in his thirties and still a virgin, while Partridge Whistle was like a raging fire; it was truly a case of fire meeting dry tinder. This commotion lasted until dusk, nearly causing them to miss the important task.

To tell the story from another angle, Zhang Cheng returned to the villa and found Daoist Priest Qianhe. He said to him, "Fellow Daoist Qianhe, tonight, Partridge Whistle will lure out the Evil Infant, and I will work with Fellow Daoist Lin to deal with it. Please stay here to ensure the Evil Infant doesn't escape back."

Daoist Priest Qianhe nodded and said, "Ah-Sheng, don't you worry. With me, Qianhe, here, there will definitely be no problems!"

Qiusheng, who was to the side, said, "I can help too."

Zhang Cheng shook his head inwardly; the two of them were like Crouching Dragon and Fledgling Phoenix—as long as they didn't cause trouble at a critical moment, that would be enough. He took out a protective talisman and handed it to Mi Nianying, saying, "After the Evil Infant leaves, go and guard your sister."

After giving these instructions, Zhang Cheng found Lou Dalong and secretly cast a spell on him, making him go and lure the Ghost Servant.

Subsequently, Zhang Cheng exchanged for a magic treasure, which was the Spirit-Binding Rope. This treasure cost Zhang Cheng two hundred merit points.

"Spirit-Binding Rope: Can trap all ghost entities; the duration depends entirely on the caster's magic power."

This Spirit-Binding Rope belongs to the category of Daoist magic ropes. Magic ropes have many functions, such as whipping ghost entities, expelling them, and even being used to transmit decrees. Binding ghost entities is only one of its functions.

Because the Spirit-Binding Rope only has the most basic function of trapping ghost entities, it was not that expensive.

With everything prepared, it all depended on Partridge Whistle's methods.

Zhang Cheng left the villa at dusk and arrived at the Lailai Hotel. He went to Partridge Whistle's room and knocked on the door, immediately hearing Uncle Nine's low gasp. A moment later, Partridge Whistle came to open the door and said embarrassedly, "Oh, it's Ah-Sheng. I didn't realize it had gotten so late."

Zhang Cheng did not expose them, only saying, "Fellow Daoist Partridge Whistle, after dinner, it will be time to prepare to deal with the Evil Infant."

Uncle Nine, fully dressed, walked out with an expressionless face, but in reality, he was very embarrassed.

After dinner, Uncle Nine urged Partridge Whistle to take action. The three of them arrived at a small forest near the villa. Partridge Whistle immediately cast a spell, causing a group of Spirit Infants to run out, saying, "Help me with this favor, and afterwards I will find you all a good family where you won't have to worry about food or clothing."

The group of Spirit Infants immediately began to play according to Partridge Whistle's arrangements, while Uncle Nine and Partridge Whistle began to perform the lion dance. As for Zhang Cheng, he naturally hid to the side to wait.

Inside the villa, the Evil Infant hiding in Mi Qilian's belly heard the sound of the children playing and felt very envious. However, the Ghost Servant had previously told him there was a group of Daoists and to be careful, so he hesitated.

However, this Ghost Servant had already been led away by Lou Dalong, and the maid had taken the opportunity to lure Lou Dalong to a pond in the wilderness.

The Evil Infant listened for a moment, but ultimately, being a child at heart, he couldn't resist and ran out. Seeing the Evil Infant run out, Daoist Priest Qianhe immediately set up an array in Mi Qilian's room, while Mi Nianying held the protective talisman and sat on the bed hugging her sister.

The Evil Infant soon appeared before Uncle Nine and Partridge Whistle. As soon as the Evil Infant appeared, the group of Spirit Infants was so scared they fled back into their clay figurines.

Partridge Whistle and Uncle Nine immediately lured the Evil Infant.

The Evil Infant was ignorant and naive, thinking it was just fun, and jumped onto the lion dance costume. Uncle Nine and Partridge Whistle immediately took action and trapped the Evil Infant.

The Evil Infant immediately cast a spell to release Yin Lightning, repelling Partridge Whistle, and let out a loud shriek. The Ghost Servant, who was currently pressing Lou Dalong into the water, heard the Evil Infant's scream, his expression changed drastically, and he immediately flew away. Lou Dalong also swam to the shore from the water and ran back to the villa in a panic.

As the Ghost Servant flew over rapidly and was about to kick Uncle Nine, Zhang Cheng, who had been lying in ambush, immediately jumped out and threw the peach wood sword in his hand. The Ghost Servant was struck by the sword, let out a miserable shriek, and was beaten back.

The Evil Infant was furious and immediately released Yin Lightning. Uncle Nine hurriedly used the Golden Light Incantation to protect his body, but was still repelled by the Evil Infant.

Zhe Gu was furious and shouted, "You brat, you dare to hit my man? See if I don't beat your little butt to a pulp!"

As she spoke, Zhe Gu took out a rattle-drum and cast a spell to shake it. Hearing the sound, the Evil Infant felt dizzy and wanted to sleep.

Seeing the opportunity, Zhang Cheng immediately forced the Ghost Servant back with a sword strike, then kicked out, using the momentum to jump in front of the Evil Infant. He threw out the Spirit-Binding Rope and shouted, "Heaven's net is wide, all ghosts shall be executed. Obey this command with the speed of law!"

The Spirit-Binding Rope trapped the Evil Infant, rendering it unable to move.

Seeing this, Zhe Gu took out a clay figurine and sucked the Evil Infant into it, then cast a spell to seal it. The Ghost Servant's resentment was greatly reduced. Zhang Cheng spat out Samadhi True Fire to surround the Ghost Servant; all the surrounding resentment was cleared away, and the Ghost Servant immediately collapsed to the ground.

"Evil Infant incident concluded, calculating merit... obtained six hundred merit points."

Zhang Cheng was secretly pleased; he had made a profit of four hundred. This matter could be considered perfectly resolved; the escaped Evil Infant had been retrieved, and Mi Qilian, her child, and the maid had been saved.

The maid had originally been in disarray, and now that she was lying on the ground, a large expanse of white skin was exposed. Uncle Nine couldn't help but swallow his saliva; after all, matters of love and desire are bone-eroding and marrow-deep, making one addicted.

Seeing this, Zhe Gu was overcome with jealousy and shouted, "Well, you Lin Jiuying, you don't keep your husbandly vows!"

Uncle Nine hurriedly turned his head away and said, "Junior Sister, don't frame me. I was just checking if this woman was alright. Ah-Sheng, you carry her back with you."

Zhang Cheng did not refuse. He stepped forward and picked up the woman. With the beautiful scenery trembling before him, he could only look up and keep his eyes straight ahead.

When their group returned to the villa, Lou Dalong saw the maid in Zhang Cheng's arms and said in terror, "She's a ghost! A female ghost!"

Zhang Cheng immediately explained, "Commander Lou, don't worry. She was just controlled by the Evil Infant; she is fine now."

Lou Dalong asked half-believingly, "You're not lying to me?"

Zhang Cheng nodded and said, "Of course. She has indeed returned to normal. She was just an innocent victim."

He was not wrong. The maid had taken care of Mi Qilian, likely because Mi Qilian was a good person, so the maid wanted to raise a Spirit Infant to pray for blessings for Mi Qilian and her child. She just didn't understand the relationships involved and mistakenly released the Evil Infant.

When it came down to it, this was still Zhe Gu's negligence, as the matter of Spirit Infants had always been handled by her. That day just happened to be when Uncle Nine visited, which made Zhe Gu lose her composure. Fortunately, everything was resolved without further incident.

Having resolved Mi Qilian's matter, Uncle Nine could not stay any longer. After all, he and Zhe Gu had consummated their marriage, and Uncle Nine was determined to marry her, so he said, "Lian, I am going to marry my Junior Sister. Please come and have a cup of wedding wine when the time comes."

Mi Qilian smiled and said, "Brother Ying, now that you have found a home, I can rest easy."

Although Zhe Gu was jealous, she felt happy inside upon hearing that Uncle Nine was going to marry her, so she didn't hold it against him.
