Chapter 796: The Evidence Points to the Dragon Lord

The video continued.

【On the contrary, I'm the one who should be thanking you.】

General Jing Yuan said with a smile.

【Thank you?】

Miss Lingsha was somewhat surprised by General Jing Yuan's words.

【All I do and all I seek is nothing more than those four words: a clear conscience.】

【But in a long-lived species' long life, can one truly remain without guilt?】

【Young Lady Lingsha was implicated by your Master's judgment and had no choice but to wander far from home, knowing nothing of the reasons behind it.】

【And now the situation within the Alchemy Commission is tangled and complex. The Alliance sending you here to take on this thankless task has saved me a great deal of trouble.】

【Should I not thank you?】

General Jing Yuan countered.

【... Worthy of being the General of the Divine Strategy, not even leaving a single opening for someone to come and call him to account.】

【To say it plainly, the Alliance sent me here to handle official business properly — not to pick a side.】

Miss Lingsha explained.

【It doesn't matter which side Young Lady Lingsha wants to stand on. After all, you and I both stand on the Alliance's side, don't we?】
