Chapter 536
As they chatted, Liu Tianxian helped tidy up the office; though furniture was already placed, it wasn't properly arranged.
Many items had been arranged by staff, but Liu Tianxian disliked the layout, so she readjusted them.
For example, the vases, she moved to either side behind the desk, adding greenery to the workspace.
A creaking sound echoed through the office.
They saw Liu Tianxian and Fang Hong straining to push a coffee table toward the center of the office.
This had originally been the reception area, with sofa and coffee table against the wall; Liu Tianxian suggested moving them to the center since the space was large enough, no need to hug the wall.
Of course, that was what Liu Tianxian said.
After moving the sofa and coffee table into place, Liu Tianxian straightened her waist, breathing out in exhaustion, fanning herself with her hand—as if utterly worn out.
"See how this creates depth? The sense of space instantly emerges." She studied the layout and positioning.
"Yes, yes." Fang Hong supported his aching lower back; he hadn't realized how heavy it felt until he moved—he hadn't done heavy labor in ages.
Still, looking around, the ambiance had definitely improved.
In ordinary luxury offices, sofas and coffee tables never sit against walls; neither do they in villas.
"We need to lay down a carpet on the floor—it's too slippery. Have someone install one another day." Liu Tianxian stepped on the ground.
The floor was made of marble—too hard.
"Mm." Fang Hong didn't argue; besides Liu Tianxian thinking of these things for him, no one else did.
Liu Tianxian picked up the plaque reading "Tandang": "Let's hang this plaque too."
"How? It's so high." Fang Hong looked at the cabinet behind the desk, where a designated spot for the plaque was left.
It was too high—they'd need a table to stand on.
"You hold me up, I'll hang it for you." Liu Tianxian suggested.
"How do I hold you? I can't reach that high." Fang Hong glanced at the height—the chair wouldn't do.
Liu Tianxian walked over with the plaque, tilted her head up, assessed the height, and said: "I'll ride on your neck—I'll reach it."
"Oh my aching back and legs." Fang Hong became dramatic, clutching his lower back, limping around like an overworked old man.
He just didn't want to—someone would come along to hang it for him anyway.
Liu Tianxian saw through his act, stepped forward, grabbed his shirt, pressed her palm against his lower back skin, and felt warmth: "Here's where it aches?"
"Yes," Fang Hong nodded—and immediately yelled "Damn!" in pain, nearly jumping.
Liu Tianxian pinched the soft flesh on his waist and smiled: "Still ache?"
"No ache, no ache—let go, let go!" Fang Hong winced.
"You're young—either your back aches or your legs hurt. Can't you stand up straight?" Liu Tianxian released him, pulled his shirt down, and casually slapped his butt.
The whole motion flowed seamlessly, effortless.
"Whether I stand up straight or not—others don't know, but don't you know?" Fang Hong smiled again.
They were just fooling around.
"I don't know—I've never seen it." Liu Tianxian put on a haughty look, instantly understanding his implication.
They often chatted about all sorts of things in bed.
"Then let you see, come watch." Fang Hong leaned in teasingly.
"Don't waste my time—hurry up, let's finish so we don't bother others." Liu Tianxian tapped his head.
"Actually, having someone hang it is best—we can't do it properly like this." Fang Hong spoke seriously.
It needs to be steady; otherwise, the person on top can't operate safely.
"Just try," Liu Tianxian said.
"How about I ride on you?" Fang Hong shot back, casually.
"Fine, ride me then." Liu Tianxian agreed immediately.
That left Fang Hong speechless—he'd only said it half-jokingly, hoping she'd back down, but she didn't hesitate at all.
Looking at his wife's petite frame and tall, slender build, how could he possibly let her ride him? Fang Hong suddenly slapped his shoulder: "Come on! Get on the desk!"
"See? After all that talk, you still want me to ride." Liu Tianxian laughed, climbing onto the desk: "Come over here."
Fang Hong walked over, back pressed against the desk—making it easier for Liu Tianxian to climb—and said: "I just don't want to ride you."
"Oh? Sounds so wronged—like I never let you ride?" Liu Tianxian stood on the desk, stretched her leg, and carefully straddled his neck.
She was still very practiced—she'd done this before.
"How about tonight you let me ride you?" Fang Hong felt her weight, wrapped both arms around her thighs, and looked up at the woman above.
"Dream on—I won't do that embarrassing pose." Liu Tianxian refused outright.
Fang Hong fell silent, bounced slightly: "Wow, you're heavy—Feifei's gotten fat again."
"Nonsense—I just got back from shooting propaganda photos in Macau, I've been dieting, how could I get fat so fast?"
Fang Hong had just said it offhand—he hadn't noticed any weight gain.
He felt something soft against his neck: "Are you on your period?"
"I'm wearing thick tights—when do I get my period, don't you know?" Liu Tianxian was exasperated—he couldn't even remember her cycle.
Fang Hong fell quiet; seeing she was settled, he took two steps forward.
"Hey hey, wait wait—I haven't got the plaque yet!" Liu Tianxian suddenly cried out.
"Can't you grab it before climbing up?" Fang Hong groaned, forced to step back.
"Why rush? I'm getting it now—bend down a bit, I can't reach." Liu Tianxian reached out—the plaque sat on the desk.
"You get it. I'm a seven-foot man—I don't bend over." Fang Hong spoke boastfully—really, he feared he wouldn't be able to stand back up!
"Pfft, you stood straight just fine last time we went out—now you can't?" Liu Tianxian didn't believe him—he just didn't want to.
She meant the last holiday, when they went out and crowds blocked the view—she'd ridden on Fang Hong's neck to see the show.
Actually, that time he didn't bend over—he just walked straight.
"Last time was different from this time," Fang Hong said.
"What's different?" After Liu Tianxian got down, she picked up the plaque, tucked it under her arm, then climbed back onto the man's neck, one hand steadying his head.
"Last time I didn't sleep with you; this time I keep sleeping with you—it's been tiring," Fang Hong said.
"Get lost! Always talking nonsense," Liu Tianxian scolded.
Fang Hong held both her legs—steadier that way.
Then he walked to the wall. There was a cabinet here, and right on it was an empty rectangular groove—the spot to hang the plaque.
With Fang Hong's height plus half of Liu Tianxian's, it was just enough.
"Don't wiggle around," Liu Tianxian said, carefully lifting the plaque with both hands and hanging it up.
Fang Hong straightened his back, steadied himself—he was also afraid she'd fall, since she was his wife; she couldn't get hurt.
If she got hurt, he'd still have to run around after her!
Liu Tianxian pressed the plaque against the wall, but it wouldn't hold, so she had to sway it left and right, searching for the groove behind it.
There were nails in the wall—once she found the groove, she just had to hang it on the nail.
"Are you done yet? Just find the nail behind it," Fang Hong urged.
"I'm still looking, haven't found it yet—come a bit closer," Liu Tianxian said.
"Then hurry up, I can't keep steady." Fang Hong took a step forward, his body swaying slightly from side to side.
"Don't rush me." Liu Tianxian kept fiddling with the plaque, looking quite serious about it.
Fang Hong tilted his head up to look—figured it'd take a while longer—so he slowly dragged a chair over from the side.
Liu Tianxian glanced down but said nothing.
With one hand on the chair, Fang Hong was much better off. Staying still like this, holding on the whole time, was a challenge for him too.
After a while, Liu Tianxian felt it catch, so she slowly let go. Seeing it didn't fall: "Okay, put me down."
"You're sure it's secure?" Fang Hong confirmed.
Liu Tianxian pushed hard on the edge of the plaque; seeing it didn't budge, she said again: "It's secure."
Hearing that, Fang Hong took a big stride to the side, even spinning in a circle.
Because the motion was too big, Liu Tianxian let out an "Ah!"—nearly falling—and quickly grabbed his hair with both hands.
"Are you trying to kill me?!" Liu Tianxian shouted.
"Don't grab my hair!" Fang Hong felt his scalp sting.
"Who's the one fooling around?" Liu Tianxian said.
"Here, grab my hands." Fang Hong raised both hands up.
"Your back doesn't ache anymore, huh?" Liu Tianxian teased, grabbing his hands on both sides—much steadier and secure this way.
"Doesn't ache—back's as stiff as a board."
Fang Hong started bragging again, then let out an "Ooh-hoo!" and spun several circles in the office.
Liu Tianxian's hair flew about; she felt the world spinning—but her face was smiling, her mood was happy, a look of happiness on her face.
The two of them spinning—if someone captured this moment, the scene would actually be quite a sight.
Fang Hong couldn't spin too much; he walked to the floor-to-ceiling window: "Can you see far?"
"Far!" Liu Tianxian looked out at the swirling snow, the bleak land in the distance covered in a thick layer of white.
The cold wind howled, whipping up a gust of white snow; withered trees swayed.
Many places here were still undeveloped wasteland, so it looked like a scene of freezing desolation.
"This teaches us: the higher you stand, the farther you see," Fang Hong said.
"You think I'm a three-year-old? You think I don't know that? Go teach your son in the future," Liu Tianxian said, a touch of tsundere in her tone.
"Well, we don't have a son yet, so I'll teach his mother first." Fang Hong let out a "heh-heh" laugh.
Liu Tianxian smiled too and said: "There's another saying—stand on the shoulders of giants, draw on the wisdom of those before you, and write your own legend."
"Right, wifey's right—I'll teach your son in the future," Fang Hong said.
"Get lost, it's not even a sure thing yet."
Liu Tianxian said, then added: "Even if I got pregnant, what if it's not a son but a daughter?"
"What's wrong with a daughter? I can teach her things too," Fang Hong said.
Liu Tianxian looked down at him, stroking his face: "Hey, would your mom favor boys over girls?"
"Just have a few more and that'll do it," Fang Hong said offhandedly.
"I said if—if it's a girl, would your mom favor boys over girls?" Liu Tianxian said.
"It's our kid, we raise it ourselves—why would we need her opinion on having kids?" Fang Hong said firmly; it wasn't something his mom should be worrying about in the first place.
"Still, you should consider your mom's feelings," Liu Tianxian said.
"Then go sound her out yourself—I don't know either." Fang Hong really wasn't sure, didn't know if the older generation had that kind of mindset.
Liu Tianxian fell silent in thought, gazing at the distant sky—she was standing on this man's shoulders.
