Chapter 129: Blood and Origin

~6 min read 1,182 words

Soon after.

The underground second floor of the Paris Research Center.

Inside the large conference room.

A U-shaped table stood at the center of the conference room, with ten Original Bodies seated on either side.

Sui Bian, and Alekxia who had changed into shoes and clothes, stood between the U-shaped table, with the Red Queen and White Queen showing their avatars.

Three holographic screens projected at the front of the conference room, playing various materials for everyone, including many illustrations and fictional images found from what seemed like the internet.

These images mostly had dark or blood-red backgrounds, with a 'black giant shadow' at the center of the rough sketches.

Its body was huge, its eyes emitted an eerie red light, it had a skull resembling a canine's, but its exact appearance could not be determined, or rather its whole form seemed like an illusory existence.

"These are all the speculative drawings I and the White Queen made based on the description provided by Dr. Ruixike."

The Red Queen had her back to the holographic screen, speaking to those present.

What was displayed on the screen was not an internet image, but speculative drawings made by two AIs based on the description.

After the Red Queen finished, the White Queen generated several new holographic displays on either side of the U-shaped table and said to Sui Bian:

"Sir, I have organized the information and data, and I have locked onto the vampire families and werewolf gangs."

"Good." Upon hearing this, Sui Bian issued orders in succession:

"White Queen, immediately suppress these families and enterprises comprehensively, and also send the information you've gathered to Agent Kennedy."

"Red Queen, arrange the Special Task Force and elite security to assist the team of agents led by Agent Kennedy in secretly apprehending and exterminating the vampire and werewolf clans."

"Yes (good), sir."

The Red and White Queens responded together, then voluntarily dissipated their avatars, focusing their energy on carrying out Sui Bian's orders.

"Doctor." Robert gazed at the speculative drawings of those 'black shadows,' his expression solemn as he asked Alekxia:

"This is the blood demon capable of affecting the balance of the three clans."

"The blood demon is merely a name I gave it based on my understanding." Alekxia glanced at Robert.

Then she scanned all the Original Bodies present, her gaze skipping over Sui Bian beside her, finally turning to face the front of the conference room, looking at one of the speculative drawings, she said in a low voice:

"Blood, dazzling blood, source of life."

"When blood emerges, I descend."

"When blood flows, I live."

"When blood stops, I die."

"This is the important information held by the ink-blot thing named Saina."

"According to its understanding, this is a hint or riddle for summoning the god they worship; if that god successfully descends upon the world, the balance of all things will be completely broken."

"Blood demon, blood god." Sui Bian muttered softly, his eyes flickering slightly.

But his expression remained the same, still quite bland.

Alekxia paid no attention to Sui Bian's muttering, continuing: "Compared to the blood demon, any other information about vampire families or werewolf gangs is completely trivial."

"Moreover, interestingly, the Cavendish family that Saina belongs to is conservative; it and its retainers believe maintaining the status quo is the best choice for the vampire clan to thrive forever."

"Eternal prosperity?" an Original Body doubted: "Their species numbers are few, forced to hide in darkness from fear of sunlight—what prosperity is that?"

"Just a different understanding." Alekxia turned to face that Original Body and patiently explained:

"Other families hope for the blood demon's descent, so they can evolve into day-walkers no longer afraid of sunlight, and also wish to assimilate all humanity to achieve the prosperity they desire."

"But" Alekxia's expression suddenly changed, her tone filled with disgust:

"While the Cavendish family believes vampires are nobles superior to humans, only the chosen have the right to become vampires."

"The thing called Saina does not want vampires to become cheap; it even keeps young children as toys to raise, and—"

"Enough! Killing it wouldn't even quell my anger; I want it to experience what true despair is."

As her words fell, the conference room sank into a silence so quiet you could hear a pin drop.

The Original Bodies knew that the female vampire was something even lower than a D‑class scum, which is why their zoology teacher fell into extreme anger.

Actually, Saina did not die; she merely became an unconscious body devoid of thought and memory.

Yet as a 'rational' scientist, Alekxia seems unwilling to let this now‑shell creature go.

She collected her emotions.

"Sorry." Alekxia showed a very amiable smile, apologizing to the Original Bodies: "Let the children see the teacher's side of losing reason."

"It's fine, Doctor, we don't mind." Robert replied immediately.

"Yeah, Doctor, we support your revenge against that vampire."

"Yes, yes."

The other Original Bodies echoed in agreement; even John nodded with a look of 'very understanding'.

"Dr. Rik." At this moment Sui Bian interjected: "Since the blood demon's descent would make the vampires stronger, why would the werewolves choose to cooperate with other vampire families to destroy the Cavendish family?"

"The blood demon seems to be the chief culprit behind the emergence of werewolves and vampires." Alekxia gave her speculation:

"According to the memory of that thing (Saina), the ancestors of werewolves and vampires were knights or lords from various European countries, having endured countless wars, their hands stained with life and blood."

Afterward, it seems they attracted the blood demon's attention and were granted abilities far surpassing humans, becoming the earliest batch of vampires and werewolves.

But the price of gaining this ability is being unable to walk in sunlight, and on nights of the full moon they completely turn into beasts, craving blood and slaughter even more.

As for why they are hostile to each other, even to the point of endless enmity, the root is that each believes it is the true heir of the blood demon.

Hmm, a rather strange reason, but not incomprehensible.

However, the turning point that changed the two clans' mutual hatred was the leader of the largest vampire family, WeiketeWensente, who seemed to have recently found a way to summon the blood demon.

Thus the two clans temporarily ceased hostilities, and the vampires held a meeting last night in Rome to discuss when and where to summon the blood demon.

"That thing also thereby brought disaster upon itself, but at least I have learned the exact time and place."

Speaking, Alekxia lightly moved her left hand to bring up the holographic control panel.

After operating it, the holographic screen was turned off, leaving only the screen at the front of the conference room.

Zoom in.

The crowd discovered that Alekxia had pulled up a satellite overhead map, which was exactly a long‑abandoned castle located sixty kilometers east of Bucharest, the capital of Romania.

Just finished coding two thousand, and another two thousand will be coded out before nine or ten o'clock.
