Chapter 211: Wrath of Flame and Frost (Part 4)

~10 min read 1,870 words

When most of the wizards, following mission orders, entered the fortress node cast from metal,

and merged their spiritual sense into its core to seize control authority, Gao Jie Ming was startled to discover that the "Ship Plane," which had always carried them and seemed utterly unremarkable, was also beginning to "transform."

That grand and profound rumbling did not come from the outside world but erupted from the very depths of the plane itself, bursting outward from within!

That grand and deep rumbling sound did not come from the outside, but erupted from the very depths of the plane itself, bursting forth from within!

The wasteland surface beneath his feet began to tremble violently, cracks spreading in all directions like a spiderweb. Immediately after!

The earth at the center of the Ship Plane was torn apart as if by an invisible giant hand.

Beams of scorching rune light gushed forth from that torn abyss, illuminating the entire sky!

Before Gao Jie Ming's shocked gaze, a super cannon constructed entirely of unknown metal, covered with dense and complex runes,

rose slowly from within like a prehistoric behemoth.

The main cannon's muzzle alone had a diameter of over ten kilometers, resembling a gaping abyssal maw!

Its barrel was so long that no one knew how deep into the Ship Plane it extended.

As the giant cannon ascended, terrifying energy fluctuations distorted the surrounding space, radiating a destructive aura capable of annihilating everything.

Besides this super cannon with a muzzle diameter of over ten kilometers and an unknown length serving as the main armament, dense arrays of various other weapons successively rose from all parts of the plane like new life breaking through the soil!

From space-distorting cannons that directly annihilate matter, to shield generators capable of withstanding plane-level attacks, to element-field suppressors sufficient to dominate an enemy's elemental manipulation, along with countless energy rail guns, rune missile silos, and even floating fortresses hidden within the high-altitude clouds.

In merely a few seconds, the entire Ship Plane transformed from a barren, unremarkable wasteland into a war fortress bristling with dense weaponry like a hedgehog.

Its form and its energy fluctuations all proclaimed its true identity.

How could this be a ship?

It was clearly a war fortress built upon a plane foundation and modified by wizards!

Gao Jie Ming stared at the scene before him, momentarily dumbfounded.

He finally understood why the surface of this plane was a desolate wasteland, lacking even proper cities or ecosystems.

It turned out that the entire plane had been militarily modified; all energy within the plane had been concentrated into the core region to drive these terrifying weapons. From the very beginning, this Ship Plane was never a simple "transport vessel" but a super battleship thoroughly modified and armed to the teeth!

It turned out this was purely because the entire plane had been armed and modified; all energy within the plane had been concentrated in the core region to drive these terrifying weapons. The plane itself, from the very beginning, was no simple "transport ship," but a super battleship that had been thoroughly transformed and armed to the teeth!

A voice carrying a mocking smile rang out beside Gao Jie Ming's ear.

Viola appeared silently beside Gao Jie Ming like a ghost, her silver-gray eyes now flashing with excitement!

"This is Augustine Wizard's contingency plan when facing a miracle creature like the Flame-Frost Plane."

Viola's voice still carried that pathological delight, yet now it also held a pride deep within her bones.

She explained to Gao Jie Ming: "After Augustine obtained information from the two Monster Kings, Air and the other, and learned the true situation of the Flame-Frost Plane, he began designing a comprehensive plan."

"Forcibly leaving the Flame-Frost Plane to return to the Junction Point to mobilize troops was not only to lower the living plane's guard and seize the opportunity to deliver a heavy blow." Viola paused, glancing at the magma giants and snow monster legions hovering in the sky above the Ship Plane.

"It was also because the current number of wizards was far insufficient to perfectly manipulate this Ship Plane, this ultimate war fortress. To get this big fellow fully operational requires a vast wizard legion fighting in coordination!"

Viola's explanation set Gao Jie Ming's mind racing at high speed as he realized another critical issue: "So—when did Master Augustine learn the true nature of this plane? Did you also know about these things in advance?"

Viola's explanation sent Gao Jie Ming's mind racing at high speed, and he realized another critical issue: "So—when did Master Augustine learn the true nature of this plane? Did you also know about these things in advance?"

and Viola admitted it without hesitation, even wearing an expression of "you've finally figured it out."

"Regarding the truth of the Flame-Frost Plane, as early as our landing battle, after Master Elwin and the Snow Monster King Agron, along with the Magma Giant King Karamos, first clashed, we obtained precise information from the two Monster Kings," Viola explained. "From that moment on, wizards of Tier Three and above learned the relevant details and began secret preparations for today's situation."

"As for why only wizards of Tier Three and above were informed—" Viola revealed a mischievous smile, "it is naturally because only wizards who have reached the Tier Three realm truly master their own law powers."

"Only wizards of this caliber can avoid having their information detected by the plane's origin. Although lower-tier wizards can also employ certain other techniques, they ultimately cannot achieve a deeper level of 'falsehood.' Therefore, to avoid alerting the enemy, keeping lower-tier wizards in the dark

"Only wizards of this caliber can prevent their information from being detected by the plane's origin. Although lower-level wizards can also employ certain other techniques, they ultimately cannot achieve a deeper level of 'falsehood.' Therefore, to avoid alerting the enemy, lower-level wizards were kept in the dark,"

Hearing this, Gao Jie Ming could not help but sigh slightly; this meant that all wizards of Tier Two and below had essentially been treated as cannon fodder in this conflict.

Yet he also admitted that everything Viola said was correct.

The tier system of the Wizard Seat indeed had deep-level considerations.

Unlike the numerous complex conditions required to advance to Tier One or Tier Two Wizard, advancement from Tier Three to Tier Six Wizard had only two hard requirements:

First, spiritual strength must meet the standard;

second, the percentage of control over any "rule."

If fully mastering all knowledge and operational methods of a single rule is considered one hundred percent progress, then a Tier Two Wizard, after meeting the spiritual strength standard, needs only to reach the minimum lower limit of controlling rule power in a certain field.

That is, mastering 0.1% of a single rule allows one to advance to a Tier Three Wizard.

A Tier Four Wizard requires progress reaching 1%.

A Tier Five Wizard requires progress reaching 10%.

Only by completely mastering all mysteries and knowledge of an entire rule can one finally advance to become a "Tier Six Wizard."

At this stage, the wizard's very existence becomes like the incarnation of a rule!

When dealing with powerful existences like a living plane, one must be extremely cautious; even the slightest leak could lead to total defeat.

"Indeed, strength is everything." Gao Jie Ming exhaled.

Soon, he realized another issue: "Since Tier Three Wizards already knew these secrets and participated in the plan, does that mean when we were discussing geological issues back then, you were actually acting?!"

"Exactly." Viola smiled until her eyes narrowed into slits.

Especially sensing the tangled aura emanating from Gao Jie Ming upon hearing her answer made her smile even more brilliantly.

"Truly..." Gao Jie Ming did not know what to say.

He still remembered their discussion back then, where Viola had seriously speculated that there might be some special techniques within the two monster communities.

"Is this the acting skill of the older generation? I must admit, it is indeed so natural that it even deceived our own people." In that instant, Gao Jie Ming even felt a sense of frustration.

After a moment's thought, he changed the subject: "Then, Senior Sister Viola, why did you come to me? As a Tier Three Wizard, you should have more important tasks, right?"

Hearing this, Viola shrugged, and that slightly cynical yet confident smile returned to her face.

She nodded, acknowledging that this was indeed the case,

She nodded, indicating that this was indeed the case.

"Oh? Then what is your mission?" Gao Jie Ming asked curiously.

"As for my mission," Viola smiled meaningfully, then suddenly changed the subject, uttering words that left Gao Jie Ming speechless and choking with frustration, "It is extremely important, so ah—right now, I actually have plenty of free time."

"You..." Gao Jie Ming was just about to retort when Viola cut him off.

"Get ready, my dear junior brother Gao Jie Ming!" Viola patted Gao Jie Ming on the shoulder, "Your mission is about to arrive!"

Gao Jie Ming blinked his eyes, putting aside any further discussion with Viola about her riddle-like mission.

For, just as the Ship Plane completed its full "transformation," its massive main cannon began to gather terrifying energy at its muzzle, energy sufficient to end a plane!

At the same time, the Living Plane below let out an earth-shaking roar!

The two planes had officially gone to war!

Boom!!!

The battle between planes surpassed any conventional understanding; it was simple and crude, yet supremely magnificent!

The Ship Plane's super main cannon first unleashed a tremendous sound that shook the void.

A pillar of scorching white light, over ten kilometers thick and composed of pure energy, carrying the momentum to melt all matter, tore through the void,

passing through spatial rifts to bombard the Living Plane below!

Wherever the light pillar passed, space twisted and annihilated; even the rifts connecting plane to plane seemed to emit mournful cries.

Yet the Living Plane showed no weakness.

Its "Mouth of Magma" suddenly opened wide, sending forth thick torrents of magma mixed with destructive fire elemental laws, along with countless scorching rocks and meteors it used as ammunition, counterattacking like a violent storm!

Simultaneously, its "eyes"—those colossal red and blue gas masses symbolizing the Fiery Sun Realm and the Frosty Dark Realm—began to spin wildly, spewing out terrifyingly extreme energy beams!

One was a high-temperature beam filled with the power to incinerate everything; the other was a time-distortion that instantly reduced people to withered bones.

Vroom vroom vroom!!!

The shield generators surrounding the Ship Plane were fully activated in an instant.

A transparent energy shield composed of composite runes rapidly expanded around the ship's hull, blocking the vast majority of the attacks!

However, even so, every impact from the magma torrents and every projection from the Time Eyes caused the Ship Plane itself to emit a low groan.

Mountains on the plane's surface collapsed amidst the aftermath of the energy collisions, and icebergs were instantly vaporized!

This no longer resembled a war between wizards and monsters, but rather a battle between two forms of intelligence and life unfolding within the void!
