Chapter 97: Truly an Ungrateful Little White-Eyed Wolf

~8 min read 1,402 words

"Do you really think I am completely unaware of the sordid things you have done all these years?"

Lin Jingshu swayed, her face turning pale.

Gu Laoyezi sneered, showing no mercy in his speech: "How are you worthy of being compared to my granddaughter-in-law?"

"Take your people and your things, and get out!"

All these years, if it weren't for the fact that she is the biological mother of Gu Tingyan and gave birth to this eldest grandson for the Gu Family.

Gu Laoyezi would not have kept her.

Lin Jingshu's eyes were bloodshot; her intense self-esteem had been thoroughly belittled by Gu Laoyezi. The woman gripped her fists tightly and said coldly, "Let's go."

The two bodyguards upstairs heard this and retreated as well.

Gu Laoyezi looked at Zhang Ma: "Throw everything she brought out for me."

Just as Lin Jingshu and her people stepped outside, all the supplements she had brought for the pregnant woman were dumped at her feet in one go.

Lin Jingshu lowered her head, looking at the items thrown out at her feet, and her expression changed in an instant.

You old bag of bones, why haven't you died yet?

Lin Jingshu's face was incomparably cold and sinister. Chen Ma, standing beside her, couldn't help but shiver at the sight of her venomous expression, trying her best to minimize her own presence.

Gu Laoyezi arrived with the housekeeper and felt heartbroken to see Qin Shu standing at the door with her large belly.

"Girl, has your mother-in-law been bullying you?"

Qin Shu's eyes turned red as she choked up, looking at Gu Laoyezi: "Grandfather, Tingyan has left."

Gu Laoyezi fell silent upon hearing this.

He sighed deeply: "Girl, let's get a divorce."

The Gu Family's deep courtyards were like a gaping abyss that swallowed people. In the past, no matter what, Gu Laoyezi would have tried to make Qin Shu stay.

She was the daughter-in-law he valued most, and Gu Yichen was the great-grandson he prized most.

Gu Laoyezi seemed to age significantly in an instant, saying to Qin Shu: "You divorce Tingyan, and Chenchen and I will go with you."

"The Gu Family's assets will all be left to you and the child."

Qin Shu's eyes reddened, and her nose felt sour.

Her grandmother was right; a man's affection isn't worth a penny. Only Gu Laoyezi's love for her was genuine.

Tears rolled from the corners of Qin Shu's eyes, her voice hoarse: "Grandfather, will you blame me?"

Gu Laoyezi was in poor health; she had never dared to tell him about her divorce from Gu Tingyan before, fearing he would be shocked.

Qin Shu had not expected that Gu Laoyezi would instead be the one to advise her to divorce.

Gu Laoyezi chuckled: "What? Once divorced, you're no longer my granddaughter-in-law?"

The old man was still in the mood to tease her: "Are you tired of this old man and don't want to live with me anymore?"

Hearing this, Qin Shu sobbed uncontrollably. What virtue or ability did she have to be so valued and loved by her grandfather?

Seeing her crying her eyes out, Gu Laoyezi scrambled to comfort her: "Oh my, you're pregnant, don't upset the fetus."

"My little ancestor, please stop crying."

The old man was quite flustered and at a loss: "Ever since your grandmother passed away, I haven't had to comfort any other woman in my life."

Qin Shu broke into a smile through her tears, and she raised her hand to wipe them away.

Lin Jingshu returned to her own courtyard and smashed everything in the room to pieces, flying into a great rage.

Gu Yichen heard the commotion outside from his room. His hand holding the pen stiffened slightly; he lowered his eyes, trying his best not to listen, and focused on his schoolwork.

"You bad guy, why are you still here?" Chu Chen's figure appeared at the door. Seeing Gu Yichen in the room and recalling the unpleasant scene where Gu Tingyan had thrown him out last time, a surge of malice rose within him.

He walked over, snatched the pen from Gu Yichen, and tore up the textbooks on his desk: "I'm telling you, Dad won't want you and your mother for much longer."

"He went abroad with my mother!"

"He is going to marry my mother!"

Gu Yichen sat in his chair and let him tear them up. He slid off the chair and turned to walk out.

Chu Chen tearing up his textbooks couldn't even provoke a hint of anger in him, which made Chu Chen even angrier.

He ran over and shoved Gu Yichen hard to the ground. With a "bang," the sound attracted Lin Jingshu.

Chu Chen accused him first: "Grandma! He told me to get lost and said he didn't want me playing in your house."

He cried loudly: "Chenchen is scared."

Lin Jingshu looked at Gu Yichen lying on the ground and saw through Chu Chen's little trick at a glance, staring at Gu Yichen's face, which resembled Tingyan's.

And the fact that he had half of Qin Shu's blood flowing in him.

Lin Jingshu recalled Gu Laoyezi's words; her eyes turned cold, and a sense of disgust welled up in her heart.

"Gu Yichen, you are very disobedient. Grandma is very angry now and will punish you by not letting you eat today."

Gu Yichen looked up, his cold little face calm as he defended himself: "He tore up my textbooks; I didn't touch him."

"He pushed me."

His calm manner of defending himself sounded just like Qin Shu.

Lin Jingshu walked over and slapped him, grabbing him by the collar: "Are you questioning Grandma? Are you unable to distinguish right from wrong?"

Gu Yichen stiffened his body, not daring to breathe too loudly. His little face turned pale, and he lowered his head: "I don't dare."

"From now on, without my permission, you are not allowed to see that woman!"

"I raised you for so long, and yet you followed that woman like a dog just because she gave you a few scraps."

"You really are an ungrateful little white-eyed wolf."

Gu Yichen's eyelashes trembled violently, his body tense. He wanted to say, I am not a white-eyed wolf.

He also loved and feared Lin Jingshu, knowing she had poured a lot of effort into him.

But looking at the eyes Lin Jingshu fixed on him, filled with hatred, he couldn't say a single word.

He climbed up from the floor, his lips pale, and muttered, "Grandma, I will be very good from now on, and I will listen to you."

Lin Jingshu had originally been very angry, venting all her dissatisfaction on him, simply because he was the son of Qin Shu.

Seeing his good attitude in admitting his mistake, and because he was, after all, raised by her, half of her anger dissipated.

Lin Jingshu said indifferently, "Mm."

Chu Chen saw that Lin Jingshu did not care that he had pushed Gu Yichen, and watched as she disappeared.

His courage grew even more, and he projected all the resentment he had been harboring onto Gu Yichen; he pushed Gu Yichen down and straddled him: "It's all your fault for stealing my daddy!"

Gu Yichen looked up and warned him coldly, "Let go of me, or I will fight back."

Chu Chen revealed a malicious smile: "If you dare to fight back, I'll find a chance to ram into your mom."

He swung his fist viciously: "I'll ram into her and the baby in her belly until you're both dead!"

Gu Yichen was pinned to the floor and beaten by Chu Chen, and he said with a calm expression, "You are not allowed to touch my mommy."

His pitch-black pupils stared at Chu Chen: "Otherwise, I will beat you to death."

"I'm not afraid of you!"

Chu Chen was stunned, feeling that the gaze was chilling; he stood up, kicked Gu Yichen hard once more, and ran out quickly.

The little fellow lay on the cold floor for a while; his body hurt, and he needed to recover. After a long time, he finally climbed up from the floor, his once crisp and perfectly pressed little suit now wrinkled and messy.

He murmured in a low voice: "My clothes are dirty."

He had to change his clothes, otherwise, Mommy would be worried if she found out.
