Chapter 22: Accident

Ye Nan heard Ye Chen say buying lollipops was to apologize to An Yu, and his face instantly turned angry.

"How am I supposed to talk about you? How could you make someone unhappy? How did you not inherit half of your father's excellent genes?"

Ye Nan, driving the car, lectured Ye Chen.

Ye Chen listened to Ye Nan's words, recalling his behavior at the amusement park yesterday, and sighed, shaking his head in his heart.

"If you really inherited that, then it's truly over."

Ye Chen said this in his heart; he didn't say it out loud, estimating that if he did, Ye Nan would, without hesitation after getting out of the car, give him a flick on the forehead.

On the way to the kindergarten, Ye Nan, in passing, bought Ye Chen a few lollipops, saying that an apology should be sincere, so buy a few more, and they're not expensive.

Because they bought candy on the way, they arrived at the kindergarten right on time.

After Ye Chen said goodbye to Ye Nan, he walked into the kindergarten's main gate.

He entered the classroom, filled with confusion.

He walked into the classroom acting as if nothing were wrong, and even before he sat down in his seat, he sensed Li Yan's mocking smile.

Ye Chen also showed a smile, but it was a disdainful one.

"Since you want to play, I'll gladly keep you company."

Ye Chen thought to himself.

He sat down in his seat, and as he sat, a sudden pressure descended on the little snake; instantly, the snake's body trembled from fear.

As soon as he had just sat down, An Yu came to his side, smiling, and said, "Brother Ye Chen, did you bring me candy?"

Ye Chen heard An Yu's voice, lifted his head to look at her, and said with a smile, "Yes, I brought you five."

Ye Chen said, handing the candy in his hand to An Yu; after receiving the candy from Ye Chen's hand, An Yu broke into a sweet smile.

Ye Chen watched, his face full of enjoyment, but he still needed to discipline Li Yan later, so he told An Yu, "Little An Yu, go play first; I'll think about what to buy you tomorrow."

An Yu, hearing that Ye Chen would still buy her something tomorrow, happily nodded and said, "Okay!"

After An Yu left, Ye Chen finally relaxed; although with him present nothing unexpected would happen, it's still better to be careful.

At this moment, Li Yan's facial expression was extremely unsightly, because this did not match the development he had anticipated.

He had thought that when Ye Chen sat down, the little snake would, out of fear, come out and bite Ye Chen once, but given the current situation, nothing happened to him, as if the little snake didn't exist at all.

"How is this possible?"

But before Li Yan could ponder further, the class bell rang, Lin Jingxue entered the classroom, and after Lin Jingxue entered, Ye Chen withdrew his pressure.

How could he possibly be afraid of such a tiny snake? Obviously, he's pretending, and I must say, Li Yan's actions are truly brainless; this will obviously draw the teacher's attention, and when the time comes, his parents will have a hard time dealing with it.

However, this fits a child's nature—no regard for consequences, only wanting revenge.

At this moment, the little snake hid in the drawer and didn't come out, but Ye Chen's drawer had nothing else, so Lin Jingxue crouched down and saw the little snake.

Not long after, security arrived with a fork, and because the little snake had been continually suppressed by Ye Chen's pressure, the whole process went extremely smoothly, with no incident at all.

"How could a snake appear here?"

"Classmates, please all exit the classroom first; after the teachers have carefully inspected the classroom, you may come back in."

Lin Jingxue reacted quickly, immediately saying to the children present.

The children were also very obedient, filing out one by one; their faces showed varying degrees of fear, except for Li Yan, whose face was not fear but regret.

Ye Chen saw this in his eyes, feeling no goodwill toward Li Yan at all; if this place were truly the cannibalistic cultivation world the system spoke of, Ye Chen wouldn't mind letting someone like Li Yan be reforged.

Children are not an excuse to evade responsibility.
