Chapter 48: Doraemon, Help Me!

~6 min read 1,109 words

Luo De saw the man appear and immediately knew this was the Mr. A that Pan Ni had mentioned.

Seeing the man hold a doctrine as thick as a stone brick, how could he not know the man’s identity?

“It’s that damn Igao Sect again!”

Pan Ni had said the man’s strength was around sixth-rank high stage, but the spiritual pressure now was far beyond that level.

Luo De pushed his perception to its limit, tracing the source of the spiritual energy, and quickly realized it all came from the man’s single-use magic ring.

“A seventh-rank magic ring?”

At that moment.

Bishop Hugo opened his arms, assuming a posture as if embracing the sky.

The clouds above turned black as ink, writhing and coalescing into a colossal elephant leg that came crashing down directly onto Bishop Hugo, like a massive black pillar.

Then, like a water pump, he drew in all the ink-like liquid from the sky through contact with the elephant leg, absorbing it into his own body.

The spiritual pressure in the air grew stronger and stronger.

Until a vast phantom shadow extended from his back.

【Spiritual Entity Descends】, seventh-rank magic ring.

This was a spell that summoned cosmic beings from another dimension, created centuries ago by humans skilled in stargazing, and since then, it had remained popular due to its immense power.

But after a human mage used this type of spell two hundred years ago and was corrupted by the cosmic being’s thoughts, committing an unspeakable atrocity, it was thereafter banned by all human lands.

Hugo was already furious.

What he hadn’t told anyone else was that there was a backup plan for this mission: if the mission failed, immediately attempt to breach the guardian array of Shi Ying Town.

Since his sixth-rank subordinates had been defeated one after another, Hugo had no reason not to execute the backup plan.

But first, kill this forest warden!

Luo De immediately felt his aura locked onto him, breaking into a cold sweat—this was seventh-rank? The gap was enormous! It wasn’t even comparable to sixth-rank high stage.

He grabbed Wei Wei’an beside him and simultaneously used 【Steel Vine Assault】 and 【Repulsion Technique】 to quickly move away from his original position.

Almost the instant he rose into the sky.

Bishop Hugo shot forward like a black cannonball, slamming into the ground where he had just been, exploding into a massive crater—the spiritual intensity contained within far exceeded Luo De’s capacity to defend.

He was blasted backward by the shockwave, rolling several times before finally standing up.

Not far away, Bishop Hugo soared into the air, his body wreathed in black spiritual energy like ink, writhing and lashing out.

“Don’t worry, heretic—I won’t kill you quickly. First, I’ll extract the tree spirit from your arms, then the succubus, then the ghoul—I’ll pull out their divine peaches one by one before your eyes. Only after you fully understand the teachings of my sect will I slowly tear apart your body.”

Before he finished speaking, the forest warden below erupted in a thunderous roar:

“Doraemon—no! Lady Hera, help me!!!”

Hugo immediately went on guard.

This guy couldn’t have survived this long so easily—he must have some hidden trick.

But the air fell utterly silent.

After the roar, not a single ripple of spiritual energy appeared.

Several spiritual arrows rained from the sky, but under the 【Spiritual Entity Descends】 enhancement, they were like tickles.

If not for the confusion on the man’s face, he might have suspected the warden was trying to flee.

“Lady Hera, help me!!!”

“Lady Hera?!!”

Luo De grimaced.

Where was the promised instant appearance, Lady Hera?

I even warned you in advance?!

The spiritual fluctuations above intensified further—clearly, another attack was coming.

Luo De had no choice but to leap again.

At that moment, a dark shadow streaked across the sky like a meteor, hurtling straight toward them.

A completely different, overwhelming spiritual pressure descended—far surpassing Bishop Hugo’s level!

“Eighth-rank?!!”

Bishop Hugo screamed in terror.

There was an eighth-rank expert in Windwall Forest?!

He made an instant decision and turned to flee into the distance.

But the dark shadow didn’t rush to pursue—it hovered above Luo De.

Scorpion Woman Hera.

She lifted her scorpion tail, smiling as she extended one finger toward Luo De.

“Once.”

Then, effortlessly, she turned and chased after Bishop Hugo.

Luo De knew exactly what she meant—Hera had promised to intervene for him three times, and this was the first.

Tally and Pan Ni arrived from afar, both faces filled with fear.

“Who was that scorpion woman?”

The ghoul asked reverently.

“An elder I specifically invited to lend aid.”

Her gaze toward Luo De instantly changed.

Someone who could summon an eighth-rank expert to help—could he possibly be ordinary? Even if he wasn’t ordinary to begin with—otherwise, where would he get such a high-grade enslavement rune?

Decided: I’ll devote myself entirely to pleasing my master.

As for breaking the enslavement? I’ll consider it after I’ve fully drained his value!

【Pan Ni’s obedience toward you +5, current obedience: 33】

“Huh?”

Luo De looked at the ghoul—her eyes were filled with sycophancy.

So fickle?

“Can you two please separate?”

Tally glared at the two clinging together.

“Oh, sorry, Wei Wei’an—the situation was urgent.”

The tree spirit nodded, unconcerned.

As they parted, Tally leaped over and shoved Wei Wei’an aside, squeezing into Luo De’s arms.

“Master~ I took out that mage~ Aren’t I awesome~”

“Miss Tally, I had a hand in that too.”

“Shut up, ghoul!”

“Sorry.”

Luo De smiled.

But then he began to think: succubi were lazy creatures, especially Tally—once her survival was secure, her needs were simple, and Luo De could satisfy them.

But what about the ghoul, Pan Ni?

What did she want? For a master, failing to understand his subordinates’ needs meant failing to satisfy them—and that inevitably limited obedience growth.

Luo De patted the small head in his arms; obedient Tally nuzzled his palm like a cat.

“What do you want?”

He asked directly.

“Five meals a day!”

“I need internal organs of corpses—preferably human, preferably mages, preferably shadow mages.” Pan Ni might as well have said outright she wanted the organs of shadow mages.

Luo De nodded—he understood perfectly.

“Shadow mages are yours to take. Tally’s request is rejected—think of a new proposal. Tell me when you’re ready.”

“Then four meals a day!”

“Rejected.”

“Three meals!”

“Rejected. Only three proposals per day. Talk tomorrow.”

Tally slumped, sulking as she drew circles on Luo De’s chest.

Succubi were demons, their base nature laid bare—Luo De had decided not to let her eat too well, lest she cause more trouble.
