Chapter 619: Lei Wei and the New Machine
Rain fell in gloomy drizzle.
Luo De stopped walking, watching from afar as Lei Wei approached step by step.
His father Carter, the former Grand Leader turned underground operative, had begged Luo De before leaving—not to kill his son.
Luo De had originally considered keeping him as a hostage or something similar.
But upon deeper thought, he saw no real point.
Carter was a man who could resist through sheer will, even at the cost of his own life.
Forcing his son to stay would feel deliberate and distrustful.
"What's wrong, Master?"
Behind him, Tally had transformed into a petite flower spirit, holding her umbrella high with both hands.
Seeing him stop, she asked.
Only then did her gaze shift from Luo De and finally notice Lei Wei in the distance.
She chuckled softly: "Him? Master, do you believe I can beat him right now?"
"No need."
"He doesn't even know about his father's fate. Didn't Rosalia say that after giving him Carter's sword as a relic, he sat in stunned silence for a whole day? He's definitely here seeking revenge. By the way, Master, do you know how a succubus seeks revenge?"
"How else could revenge work? Just kill him."
"It's not only that!"
Tally held the large umbrella with both hands, yet insisted on wrapping her arms around Luo De's, grinning as she pressed the umbrella's edge onto his head.
"If it's a male, you cut off one—"
"."
That was a bit cruel.
Just imagining it made Luo De shiver slightly.
Tally's smile widened as she affectionately and tenderly pulled Luo De's arm closer.
"So Master, you must never abandon me, okay?"
". What if the target of revenge is a girl?"
Plop—
Before Tally could answer.
Lei Wei, deputy commander of the conscription unit and the orphan of Grand Leader Carter, stepped forward, gripping a steel sword whose hilt was stained crimson with blood.
"Luo De."
He gritted his teeth, uttering those two words, his spiritual energy surging into a swirling vortex of blue and red.
Then he suddenly froze, eyes wide, utterly stunned.
He remained like that for a full three seconds.
He calmed his spiritual energy, turned without a word, and walked away.
His body wrapped in bandages, murky blood dripping onto the ground and washed away by rain, head drooping—a tragically solemn silhouette.
"What was that?"
Tally, who had been eager to act moments before, looked confused, watching the retreating figure.
Luo De nodded approvingly.
"Carter was right—his son is quite clever."
Before leaving, Carter had removed the 【Blood-Stained Mark】 from Luo De's body—the family's breathing technique's sigil.
Having sensed the absence of the mark on Luo De, Lei Wei likely realized his father had reached some agreement with this forest warden—and that he probably wasn't dead.
"A silent, closed-mouthed fool who won't even speak plainly."
After understanding, Tally evaluated Lei Wei: "Unlike Tally—Tally tells Master everything~"
Luo De ignored her, still watching Lei Wei's back.
"Since your father can't look after you anymore, I have no reason not to offer some care."
Saying this,
The battle spirit of the Fungal Warrior Gorgon emerged behind him, a thread of spiritual energy slipping into Lei Wei's body.

"No."
This skill isn't only for enemies.
Even if he won't communicate, at a critical moment, 【Summon Demigod】 could bring divine intervention.
The underground laboratory for crafting magic rings.
Also known as the residence of the zombie Selina.
Inside the cave.
Luo De stared at the massive rectangular machine before him, made of brass and magical power stones.
He felt a moment of daze.
It had a modern mechanical design, blended with dwarf brasscraft, and overlaid with magical effects.
Too mismatched.
Selina stood expressionless beside the power stone, inputting magical energy to calibrate.
Right in front, her upper body fully inserted into the machine, hips wobbling, was the half-vampire Vanessa.
Luo De didn't dare interrupt the two busy women.
He kicked the mind flayer Hart, who stood nearby arms crossed, watching:
"What are they doing?"
Hart stumbled, nearly falling.
The evil octopus eyes glared at him resentfully: "A few days ago, this half-vampire lady woke up and saw Selina working overtime crafting magic rings. To speed things up, they built this thing together."
"Speed things up? How does this thing do that?"
"It's supposed to automatically produce suitable ring blanks, so once that step's gone, they only need to input the desired spells. I don't really understand—I'm not a mage."
Luo De let out a soft "Oh?"
He was quite pleased.
He turned to Hart beside him, frowning.
"Look at them—just arrived and already contributing. Now look at you—just loafing around, doing nothing to help Selina. What good are you to me?"
Hart: "."
Don't use my mental barrier like that.
Every girl living in the forest now needs a mental barrier—do you really think I've regressed from a mainframe to a mind flayer and still have that much energy?
Luo De smiled, ignoring Hart's resentment.
While no one was paying attention,
He slipped his hand inside her clothes, kneading and checking her body thoroughly.
Soft, bouncy, like jelly.
But then again,
Mind flayers reproduce differently from ordinary continental creatures, so he had no such thoughts.
She stood motionless, ignoring his hand wandering inside her shirt.
Tally copied her, walking to the other side, smirking as she slipped her hand in too.
Hart: "."
"Aaah!!"
Vanessa, standing before the ring-blank machine, suddenly shrieked in frustration.
She pulled her upper body out and hurled a round object onto the ground.
"It doesn't work!"
She wore a headwrap, her long crimson hair hidden beneath.
Her upper body was clad in a cropped buttoned vest—likely Selina's—buttons stretched tight, ill-fitting.
Her chest bulged full, yet her slender waist and abdomen revealed a thin layer of soft fat, yet unmistakably defined abs—looking and feeling wonderfully toned.
She stood over one meter sixty tall; this outfit made her look even more efficient.
"You!"
Vanessa finally noticed Luo De and gasped.
Then she frowned in confusion.
What's your name again?
Luo De smiled bitterly.
This guy had been affected by the Witch Cat's Memory Wish Stone; his memory was clearly faulty.
