Chapter 95: Su Chen plans the Demon Alliance, the Great Sages have different agendas
"So it is Brother Su Chen." The Bull Niu Mowang cupped his hands toward Su Chen, his attitude very courteous. "I have long heard the Seventh Brother speak of you; seeing you today, you are indeed extraordinary."
"Great Sage, you are too kind." Su Chen returned the salute, neither humble nor arrogant. "I am Su Chen, I have met the Great Sages."
The Flood Dragon Niu Mowang, the Lion-Shi Tuo Wang, and the others all stood up one after another to greet Su Chen.
They were all overlords in their own right, and naturally, they could see that Su Chen was no ordinary person.
A person who could be so trusted by Sun Wukong and could devise such a strategy was absolutely no simple character.
After a round of pleasantries, Sun Wukong pulled Su Chen to sit beside him and asked impatiently, "Brother, you've come at the right time! Help me think of a way to clean up this mess!"
He pointed at the demon kings who were still drinking and feasting in the cave, his face full of distress.
Su Chen looked around, then glanced at Sun Wukong, signaling him to stay calm. He raised his wine cup and said to the Bull Niu Mowang and the others, "Great Sages, I am a newcomer here, so I will toast you all first."
The Bull Niu Mowang and the others saw that he was so well-mannered, so they all laughed and raised their cups, draining them in one gulp.
Putting down his cup, Su Chen spoke slowly: "Monkey Brother, and Great Sages. I took a look around just now, and I understand Monkey Brother's troubles."
He paused, his gaze sweeping across the demon kings in the Water Curtain Cave, and said in a deep voice: "Today, Monkey Brother raised his arms, and demon clans from all over the world responded. The momentum of our Flower-Fruit Mountain is unprecedented. This is a great thing."
"However," he changed the subject, "as more and more demon kings come to defect, it has become a mixed bag of good and bad. If we let this continue, I fear it will invite disaster."
Su Chen's words were blunt, pointing straight to the core of the problem.
Sun Wukong nodded repeatedly, feeling the same way: "Brother is right. I want to manage them, but I don't know where to start. Each one acts like an ancestor; I can't scold them, and I can't reason with them!"
The Bull Niu Mowang stroked his beard and pondered: "Does Brother Su Chen mean we should set some rules?"
"Not just rules," Su Chen nodded, "but to integrate this power completely!"
"Integrate?" The Flood Dragon Niu Mowang's eyes flashed, becoming interested. "How do you plan to integrate them?"
Su Chen said: "Great Sages, why are we all gathered here today? It is because everyone feels the threat from the Heavenly Court."
"The Heavenly Court was caught off guard by our public opinion offensive and dare not act against us for the time being. But once this storm passes, will they let us go? The answer is no!"
"When that time comes, the Heavenly Court will surely settle scores. If we don't unite and continue to act like scattered sand, each fighting our own battles, the final outcome will be us being broken one by one and dying without a burial place!"
The Bull Niu Mowang nodded slightly upon hearing Su Chen's words.
They had experienced the methods of the Heavenly Court before.
If they really tore off the mask, how long could these demon kings in the cave hold out against the Heavenly soldiers and generals?
Seeing everyone's reaction, Su Chen continued: "Therefore, in my opinion, we must twist into a single rope and establish a force that can look out for one another!"
"Establish a force?" the Lion-Shi Tuo Wang asked. "Like the ancient Demon Court?"
"No!" Su Chen shook his head. "Given the current situation in the Three Realms, the Heavenly Court will never allow the demon clan to re-establish the ancient Demon Court. We must establish an alliance, led by you Seven Great Sages, uniting all demon clan comrades who are being suppressed by the Heavenly Court, to advance and retreat together!"
"Externally, we must act in unison against the enemy; any attack on one ally is a provocation to the entire Demon Alliance. Internally, we must restrain our words and deeds, and no longer act like a mob."
"Only in this way can the demon clan truly have a voice in the Three Realms and make the Heavenly Court afraid to launch punitive expeditions at will!"
Sun Wukong listened very carefully. As soon as Su Chen finished speaking, he slapped his thigh and jumped up: "Good! Brother, I'll listen to you, let's do it!"
However, the Bull Niu Mowang and the other five Great Sages fell into silence.
Each of them had forces behind them, and the situation was complex, so they had to consider many aspects.
Su Chen saw their concerns. He used his divine ability to transmit his voice to Sun Wukong: "Monkey Brother, this matter is of great importance and cannot be rushed. The opinions of your brothers are key; we must persuade them first."
Sun Wukong understood this point and nodded.
Su Chen continued: "In that case, Monkey Brother. Have the others leave first, and let's have a proper talk with the Great Sages."
"Good." Sun Wukong understood immediately.
He cleared his throat and shouted to the demon kings in the Water Curtain Cave: "Everyone, let's stop here for today. You all leave first; I have important matters to discuss with my brothers!"
Although the demon kings were not yet satisfied, they dared not defy Sun Wukong's wishes and left the Water Curtain Cave one after another.
Soon, the originally noisy cave was left with only Su Chen, Sun Wukong, and the five Great Sages, including the Bull Niu Mowang.
Sun Wukong had his monkey subjects set up a new banquet. Sun Wukong sat in the main seat, and Su Chen sat on his left.
The Bull Niu Mowang, the Flood Dragon Niu Mowang, the Lion-Shi Tuo Wang, the Macaque King, and the Macaque King (Yuhun) sat below them in order.
These six, plus the Peng Niu Mowang who had not been contacted, were the top powerhouses among the demon clan today, excluding those ancient monsters who lived in seclusion.
Their decision was enough to influence the future direction of the entire demon clan.
Sun Wukong raised his wine cup and said to the Bull Niu Mowang and the others: "Brothers. You have all heard what my brother just said. I think it makes a lot of sense. Our demon clan cannot remain scattered sand anymore. I want to hear what you all think?"
The Bull Niu Mowang picked up his wine cup but did not drink, just turning it gently in his hand.
His rugged face showed no expression, but his eyes were as deep as an abyss.
He was the eldest of the Seven Great Sages, and his strength was publicly recognized as the greatest; he was already at the peak of the Taiyi Golden Immortal realm, just one step away from entering the Great Luo realm.
His attitude was crucial.
After a long while, the Bull Niu Mowang spoke slowly, his voice deep and steady: "Seventh Brother, and Brother Su Chen. Your ideas are very bold. To be honest, I am also moved."
He looked at Sun Wukong and continued: "Your rebellion against the Heavenly Court this time, and making that Jade Emperor look so foolish, has indeed given our demon clan a great face. Now that you have raised your arms, demon kings from all over the four seas have responded; such momentum is something our demon clan hasn't seen for many years since the ancient times."
Sun Wukong was beaming with joy and was about to speak, but the Bull Niu Mowang changed the subject.
"However," he emphasized his tone, "establishing a Demon Alliance and openly confronting the Heavenly Court is no small matter. Have you thought about the consequences?"
He turned his gaze to Su Chen: "Brother Su Chen, you are resourceful, but do you know why, since the ancient Demon Court, no one has ever been able to integrate the demon clan's forces again?"
Su Chen shook his head. Although he didn't know, he had some guesses in his heart.
