Chapter 322: I Am Not Human, I Am Heaven
What does that mean?
If killing Him ends the great war across past and future? How is that possible.
Could it be…
"Could it be…" Professor Beishan swallowed hard, his lips trembling: "The great war across past and future isn't what we guessed—a struggle for sole supremacy—but… is led by Him."
The thought emerged from Professor Beishan and many others' mouths.
The entire world fell silent.
"No way!"
Many nearly lost their courage; their voices distorted—this speculation was too terrifying.
This was a war that spread across nearly the entire river of time, involving past and future, countless gods and demons, raging since the Primordial Age and still continuing—led by Him?!
What manner of being is He, to have incited a war across past and future, drawing in countless powerful, ancient gods, demons, and great figures?
"Who is He?" someone whispered.
No one answered; no one could answer his question.
For all mortals wished to know who He was, and more urgently, how He had orchestrated the great war across past and future—and why?
The original battlefield of this war involved too many ancient ones, too many great figures—why would they have been stirred to war by Him?
Calculation? Conspiracy?
At this moment, every mind conjured a terrifying thought.
The mysterious He, for some reason, manipulated all the powerful beings of past and future, inciting them to war.
A colossal, universe-spanning conspiracy across the river of time.
People broke into cold sweats, their backs soaked, shaking their heads, refusing to delve deeper, refusing even to think of it.
Too terrifying—if this guess were true, what did He intend to do? Why incite the war across past and future?
Everyone fell silent, lips sealed, afraid to utter a single word, feeling as if an invisible hand hovered behind them, ready to claim their lives.
The next instant.
Seven supreme beings crossed the Hangu Pass.
Boom!!!
The river of time boiled; along the stretch where eternal light shone, a figure stepped forth from time itself.
With a single light step, he emerged from the river—no ripple stirred, no dust clung to him—he stepped out of the river of time as if it were nothing.
Transcended time.
How pure he was.
Even gods would feel shame before him.
What majesty he carried.
The supreme beings seemed but a fraction of his worth.
Calm, vast, holy, solemn, peerless, devoid of thought or feeling—not a trace of human sin or defilement, as if the most essential, purest lifeform, nobler than heaven itself.
People seemed to see astonishment and embarrassment on the faces of the seven supreme beings—as if even they were awed into silence.
But no one laughed; they too were stunned.
All who beheld this being were rendered speechless, struck with profound awe and submission—as if every sin they had committed, every hidden crime, now lay bare before him, filling them with shame and remorse.
"He…"
People's tongues froze.
Could this impossibly holy being be Him?
As he stepped forward onto this transcendent river, it was as if he strolled through his own backyard.
One step out.
The river of time halted in that instant.
Too holy, too exalted, too noble—even immortals and gods would bow in worship.
Not metaphor—reality: around him, countless blazing orbs of light linked to divine lands, where ancient gods sat in meditation, their great Dao thundered, as if sutras drifted from past and future.
They praised him, glorified him, worshipped him.
Countless ancient gods bowed as one, venerating him as the Holy Spirit—a being alone above all creation, transcending all defilement.
And yet, even as this struck them with awe—
This humanoid Holy Spirit opened his mouth.
"Impure lifeforms."
Like his form, his voice was pure, untainted by any hue, yet carrying the meaning of the primordial origin.
Calm, vast.
Merely a statement.
"Foolish words—we are the Supreme Heavens! How can we be impure?"
It was a being from an ancient war chariot—one of the seven supreme beings—his words shook the heavens, chaotic energy surged like a great dragon, as if every utterance could forge creation anew, reenact chaos.
Overwhelmingly powerful.
"Heaven?"
The humanoid Holy Spirit glanced at him, as if seeing through his essence, speaking plainly, yet with certainty.
"You are human."
"Human?"
A cold laugh.
Brilliant light erupted.
The Supreme Living Being stepped down from the chariot, blindingly radiant, illuminating past and future.
In hand, he dragged a crystal-clear flask, upon which earth, wind, water, and fire replayed—creation and dissolution, evolving countless worlds, countless heavens, innumerable living beings flourishing and multiplying, yet seemingly caught in a cycle: at a certain moment, all was buried, until the next cycle began.
"I am not human—I am Heaven, the Heaven within the flask!"
Cold and heartless, his words carried the indifference of one who overlooks the cycles of heaven and earth, regarding all things as ants, regarding himself as the Dao of Heaven.
People were stunned.
Their eyes fixed unblinkingly on the flask, where indeed lay entire realms.
For a moment, they were seized with dread, recalling the mist-shrouded downstream of the River of Time.
The downstream was blurred in mist; they could not see where the River lay, what it looked like, nor glimpse its downstream scenes.
Wait—
Could it be…
My god!!
Soon, many widened their eyes in terror.
Could it be that future worlds are sealed within containers similar to this flask, controlled by a Supreme Being who governs the birth and death of billions of living beings, manipulating all things?
This speculation was terrifying.
To imagine oneself forever living inside a container carried by another, feeling the bone-deep despair that everything is controlled by another—even your thoughts are not your own—all under the dominion of a Supreme Being.
Life and death not your own.
If the future is like this, people faintly understood why the future and past waged war, why the past struck at the future.
The Supreme Beings of the future controlled entire realms; they were no longer satisfied with those realms—they sought total dominion, to seize control of the entire River of Time, to master even the past.
But…
If so, what role did He play within it?
From the words of the seven Supreme Beings, He did not belong to the future—he belonged to the past era.
"Could it be that He caused the Supreme Beings of the future to seal entire realms within flask-like containers, to control all things—that the future's actions were forced upon them by Him…"
As Saito's speculation reached this point, Professor Zhongtian and even the elderly Professor Beishan sprinted over and clapped a hand over his mouth.
Holy shit, don't speculate now—are you trying to get yourself killed?
What if He hears? What if those seven Supreme Beings of the future hear?
At the same time, their bodies trembled uncontrollably.
Saito's speculation is very likely true.
