Chapter 379: The Four Great Mythologies Descend Upon the Ancient Babylonian Mythology
People sighed, regretting that the subsequent scenes of the Ancient Babylonian Mythology's heritage at Hangu Pass were no longer visible.
Otherwise they could have kept watching to see if, as guessed, the Ancient Babylonian Mythology's heritage would have fully opened Hangu Pass.
Just as everyone was sighing.
At the center of the Ancient Babylonian Mythology's heaven and earth, the scene erupting from the altar shifted.
The image was no longer the River of Time's Hangu Pass.
It returned once more to the scene of the Ancient Babylonian Mythology's heaven and earth in the Primordial Era.
At first, people thought it was rewinding.
From the scene, the great mythologies of the Origin Realm were still vying for supremacy, gods waging great wars, flames of war stretching across the sky, the intensity beyond anything a human could imagine.
The Ancient Babylonian Mythology's heaven and earth, however, was calm, like the heavens high above, possessing the nine heavens, looking down upon the world's disputes, everything unrelated to itself, nothing able to affect it.
No matter how one looked, it was the same as the earlier Ancient Babylonian Mythology's heaven and earth of the Primordial Era.
At first glance…
It looked exactly like a rewind, the footage playing back.
Even so, people still watched patiently.
Some, as they watched, could not help but voice their feelings.
"The Origin Realm of the Primordial Era was already so grand and vast, one can't imagine how magnificent the original appearance of the Origin Realm in the Primeval Era was."
With this one remark from that person, everyone present was stunned.
"Right, if you hadn't said it I would have forgotten — the Origin Realm was shattered once in the Primeval Era, and the Origin Realm of the Primordial Era is the Origin Realm after it was shattered."
The surrounding people were astonished, breaking into heated discussion.
At this moment, the former spoke again:
"Actually, I've thought about the original appearance of the Origin Realm before, but what I'm more curious about now is the First Holy Spirit."
"What's wrong with the First Holy Spirit?" a student instinctively asked back.
The former lit a cigarette, Xu Xu said:
"Those seven beings who transcended time in the future once said that in the Primeval Era, the First Holy Spirit felt the Origin Realm had been defiled, and wished to destroy the Origin Realm and reshape it. The various ancient powers had no choice but to step in to stop it, which escalated into a great war.
The result was that the Origin Realm was damaged and the First Holy Spirit was sealed, but the First Holy Spirit clearly wasn't actually sealed.
So I'm thinking, why was it spread that the First Holy Spirit was sealed when in fact it wasn't, and moreover He stepped in to stop those seven beings who transcended time — do all these reasons and consequences have something to do with Him?"
That student was stunned:
"You mean… the First Holy Spirit destroying the Origin Realm, the rumor of being sealed, stopping the seven beings — it was all Him pulling the strings?! He orchestrated the First Holy Spirit?!"
By the end, his voice was trembling.
That was the First Holy Spirit! The only one who need not appear, invincible in all the world, a terrifying existence.
He had actually set up a scheme against the First Holy Spirit.
Just thinking about it gave everyone present a chill.
The former shook his head:
"No, you misunderstood my meaning. How could He possibly have orchestrated the First Holy Spirit? Do you think the First Holy Spirit is the kind of being who could be orchestrated?"
Uh…
Everyone was stunned for a moment, the image of the First Holy Spirit rising in their minds.
Noble, holy, towering, unmatched…
Though some time had already passed since the matter of the River of Time, the scene of the First Holy Spirit slaying those seven supreme beings was still vivid before their eyes, impossible to forget.
Even if they wanted to forget, they couldn't.
Seven supreme beings, each one an existence who had transcended time, each one invincible for an entire epoch, sweeping through the ages — yet seven of them were killed by the First Holy Spirit, and that was even with the seven joining forces.
Such an existence, invincible above and below the heavens.
Involuntarily, everyone shook their heads as well, in response to the former's question.
The First Holy Spirit didn't seem like one who could be orchestrated.
Because for an existence like him, no matter how you thought about it, you couldn't imagine him being orchestrated. Even that ethereal, elusive 'sole' existence, one felt, could not kill him or sway him.
Moreover, they had a feeling that even He could not lightly sway the First Holy Spirit.
"So what do you mean?"
Curiosity and puzzlement flickered in the student's eyes.
"What I mean is, the First Holy Spirit's destruction of the Origin Realm was because the Origin Realm had been defiled. As for the subsequent sealing, and stepping in to stop and slay the seven supreme beings — could these be related to Him?
He might have reached some kind of consensus with the First Holy Spirit, or perhaps made some sort of cooperation, deal, using the First Holy Spirit's destruction of the Origin Realm to set up a scheme."
Hiss!
Everyone's blood seemed to freeze for an instant, an inexplicable thought arising in them.
That in the Primeval Era, when the First Holy Spirit wished to destroy the Origin Realm, He learned of this matter and used it to set up a scheme, leveraging everything for His own game of chess, laying out the trap.
What on earth did He want to do?
And for what reason did the First Holy Spirit reach some consensus or cooperation with Him, helping Him slay the seven supreme beings.
Could it be possible… that He spread the rumor of the First Holy Spirit being sealed for the purpose of luring and killing those seven supreme beings…
If so, everyone's scalp went numb!
To scheme in the Primeval Era against the seven supreme beings of a future so distant one couldn't fathom how distant — this trap was laid… across ten thousand ages!
"Look over there, quick!"
Amidst the student's shock, a glance from the corner of his eye caught the Ancient Babylonian Mythology's heaven and earth.
……
The Primordial Era, the Ancient Babylonian Mythology's heaven and earth.
As the ancient Babylonian mythology's essence entered the Hangu Pass, the scene returned to the primordial heavens and earth of ancient Babylonian myth.
At first, people thought it was rewinding, but soon they realized it was not.
In the primordial heavens and earth of ancient Babylonian myth, figures approached from afar—numerous in number.
There stood more than a dozen overwhelming auras, coming from different directions.
A middle-aged man, clad in ornate ancient robes and a ceremonial crown, descended like a celestial deity—majestic, noble, boundless, and vast, stirring reverence in all who beheld him.
Most striking were the man's eyes—they were double pupils!
In the eastern void, a terrifying ghostly deity, as tall as heaven itself, loomed, its black qi crushing the emptiness, radiating demonic arrogance.
From the west, a faint image of a Buddha slowly descended, radiating immeasurable precious light, illuminating the bloody, warring heavens with compassion and serenity.
This Buddha's form resembled an elderly man, half-draped in a seven-jewel kasaya, his eyebrows and eyes that of a Monk, sitting with a smile, his posture seeming to contain the ultimate truths of heaven and earth, the myriad facets of life, impermanence, formlessness, and the absence of sorrow or joy.
Merely glancing at him made one feel the urge to take refuge in the Buddha.
It felt as if someone whispered beside the ear: "Take refuge in the Dharma, take refuge in the Buddha, take refuge in the Sangha."
Other figures continued to descend.
Some bore animal heads upon human bodies, yet this did not diminish their grandeur—instead, it added mystery; standing there, they seemed to merge with heaven, yet upon closer look, it was not they merging with heaven—it was heaven itself yearning to merge with them.
Each one was overwhelmingly powerful.
It seemed they had come by unspoken agreement, summoned together for the ancient Babylonian mythology's heavens and earth.
Their arrival caused the mythic atmosphere of every warring faction to abruptly halt.
Gods engaged in battle, gods preparing to wage war—all turned their gaze toward these dozen figures.
Before the altar.
The watching gods, demons, immortals, and devils felt their hairs stand on end.
"Immortals?!"
The altar's inscription could not record their true power, but it captured the essence—the intangible aura, their postures, their very feeling.
This was Immortality!
More than a dozen Immortals descended upon the ancient Babylonian mythology's heavens and earth—after the essence of ancient Babylonian myth had departed…
