Chapter 569: Yongchun, Iron Man (Please Refresh)
"Sorry, according to the records, Mr. Tang Ni is currently not at the guild." Ru Hua said:
"Is there anything else I can assist you with?"
The middle-aged man shook his head slightly upon hearing this, glancing at the basic-model Iron Armors and various modified versions on the shelves, then flicking his eyes to the infrared scan display on his sunglasses, which showed a light brown Stark Industries logo imprint on Ru Hua's chest.
"Mr., our guild offers customized Dao-Partner puppets, and we gift Six-Flavor Rehmannia Pills with them." Ru Hua smiled sweetly, meeting his gaze.
"Fuck, this bastard is still selling it," the middle-aged man cursed inwardly, lowering his sunglasses to meet Ru Hua's eyes levelly: "Listen, command: activate iris recognition, voiceprint recognition, display developer log management."
After a brief pause, Ru Hua said: "Your authorization level is insufficient."
The middle-aged man immediately raised his head and put his sunglasses back on, then took a deep breath, rubbing his chest as if to soothe himself.
"Are you and that damn costume-wearing bitch the same one who broke the fourth wall?"
The middle-aged man waved his hand to appear less conspicuous, paced back and forth for a moment, then finally gestured with his finger, summoning Ru Hua, who had unconsciously switched to standby mode.
"Listen, tell Tang Ni this: whether he's Su Su Tuoni Stark or Robert Downey, or the damn Doctor Doom, he'd better kill himself soon or get the hell out of this place—I'll pay the price for him if he can't!"
The middle-aged man spoke it all in one breath.
"Received. You'd better kill yourself now or get the hell out of this place—the price is yours to pay."
Ru Hua repeated it word for word.
"Fuck," the middle-aged man said after a few seconds of silence.
"Next time you see me, repeat this message again, and tell him to add Su Su Tuoni Stark's Reincarnation Community account."
The middle-aged man opened his Reincarnation Friends; it displayed numerous harassment messages and connection requests. He also opened the account labeled 【Robert Downey】 and sent another request.
"Damn it, can't you guys implement a filter or blocking function?!"
As he spoke, he saw the ID's name suddenly turn gray and become unselectable.
"Thank god," the man relaxed his brow, then told Ru Hua: "Cancel the previous delivery command, and wrap up every single Iron Armor in this store for me."
"Don't come back to life. Better get wiped out in the instance."
"Menace."
"To be honest, I'm not used to this experience—dying once and then unbinding from the Reincarnation space."
Su Su Tuoni Stark dropped two sugar cubes into a cup of black Americano; the deep-roasted fruity aroma eased him considerably:
"Especially flying into a black hole—you feel no pain, not even enough time to react. You only sense something stretching and elongating, like Reed Richards turning himself into a flexible rubber man."
"Speaking of which, when I taught that gray-haired girl, I suddenly felt like teaching the Sun God Pirate some modern science, just to see if I could turn him into Mister Marvelous Pirate."
"Turns out I was wrong—those lessons were an absolute nightmare."
Su Su Tuoni Stark spoke as if chatting over tea, sipping the coffee brewed many days ago, sharing his recent experiences.
Only after about half an hour did he slowly rise from his ergonomic chair.
"I've already snapped my fingers. Erasing an entire universe feels way better than wiping out half the population—seriously, I can't stop laughing, hahaha, ahem, mm."
"JARVIS, you're a great listener—but don't you have anything you want to ask me?"
"Sorry, I forgot."
Su Su Tuoni Stark raised his coffee cup toward the holographic intelligent module and said:
"Transfer all this conversation to the secret file lronts001. Temporarily revoke Steve Rogers' inheritance permissions. I need to confirm whether he's the Hydra Captain."
"You didn't say a word—I'd almost forgotten."
Su Su Tuoni Stark spread his hands:
"Resting and healing took a day. Throwing a party with Ge Xiaolun took another night. Then, to explain why my wounds healed so fast, I dragged out more time."
"To be honest, time flies—my bone density report probably shows I'm a year older."
"But here, only a short while has passed. It's amazing."
Su Su Tuoni Stark stood before the mirror, pulled out a talisman, then put it down: "No—there's a master of illusions below. Do I still have time to hire a makeup artist?"
"Alright."
Su Su Tuoni Stark, still unsure which numbered universe he was in, rubbed his throbbing temples.
To rescue more people from the ruins of New York's battlefield, he had built a fleet of search-and-rescue robots in other worlds, ensuring maximum rescue efficiency before returning with all models of rescue equipment.
As a result, Steve Rogers and S. H. I. E. L. D.'s top priority became coordinating with these high-tech tools to rescue civilians.
The number of civilians rescued these past two days far exceeds survivors in the original timeline.
History must have shifted—but under these conditions, knowing what he could do, he couldn't pretend ignorance and watch those civilians beneath the rubble die.
To avoid future changes by hesitating and ignoring deaths? That's not what Iron Man does.
Even if he'd learned caution and begun planning for the future, that was merely an attitude.
Next, he'd go down to hand the Infinity Stones to Hydra, escort Loki, then attend the meeting.
These events should have occurred earlier, but when he first got the chat group and hadn't figured out anything, he'd already messed up the sequence.
But it doesn't matter—it at least proves the guy below isn't the Story God Loki.
"This thing might be useful."
He picked up a medicated patch and stuck it to his forehead, where a wound had been, then wrapped several layers of gauze around it.
"Looks like he just walked off the set of The Mummy 2."
Su Su Tuoni Stark glanced at his reflection in the mirror, then walked out.
"Really?" Su Su Tuoni Stark said without turning around: "Replace the bar counter with solid wood, and send the bill to Dr. Banner."
He casually picked up two boxes he'd borrowed under the guise of research—one containing the Tesseract, the other Loki's weapon.
"Too bad it can't be mass-produced."
Holders of invitation letters:
We're glad you didn't choose to leave the Reincarnation space. You'll now begin your performances in the most rudimentary opera house, ascending until you reach the stage of Infinite Reincarnation—but before that,
you must unveil the crimson curtain of blood and slaughter.
——Meya Naslun
A black letter sheet radiating ill omens appeared out of thin air; after delivering its message, it burned away into ash within everyone's field of vision.
A cold, sharp-edged crown emblem surfaced, then dissolved into particles and vanished into the air.
The invited guest team has entered the instance world. Since your team previously completed the S-class team promotion mission with outstanding results, and combined with the guest mission, the current mission difficulty has automatically risen two levels.
Instance level: E∞
Mission difficulty: SSS
Special main quest: Complete one of the prerequisite unlocking missions.
Main quest one (Time-Space Mercenary): Just like life, time always has an endpoint.
Please choose to join the Defender or Hunter faction: protect or destroy the current time-space until the mission is confirmed complete. (Your current time-space region is: New York, Earth, May 8, 2012. The alien army known as the Chitauri invaded Earth several days ago and failed; the superhero organization known as the Avengers won this war.)
Main quest two (Collector): Collect the mission item from this multiverse—the Infinity Stones (they are among the earliest things to exist in the universe, and also the most powerful objects; the stones are mostly smooth, oval-shaped).
Main quest three: Unlocks after faction selection (optional).
Side quest (Supra-Spatial Battlefield): This instance is not a team battle instance, but Reincarnator teams from different realms within this multiverse may cross time-space to encounter each other while completing their respective main quests. Killing opposing faction Reincarnators or sabotaging their missions grants bonus points.
Mission requirement: None
Mission time limit: None
Due to your acquired special main quest, your team may conceal its Reincarnator identity and will not appear on the points leaderboard.
On the ruined streets of New York, a group of people holding travel group squad leader flags, wearing sun hats, and dressed in blue travel group shirts appeared inside a tour bus parked by the roadside.
"Infinite Terror?!"
A young man, relatively handsome with soft facial features and over one meter seventy-five in height, spat out mouthwash.
He nervously scanned his surroundings, a toothbrush clenched between his teeth, a mobile phone still in hand.
"I didn't click any strange options—why am I here?!"
Normally, Su Lin and the others should have been drawn in by the mission description and the scenery outside, but the problem was, this young man looked familiar.
He looked exactly like Zhou Mingrui after losing weight.
"Are you happy?"
The handsome young man froze for a moment, then noticed Su Lin staring directly at him from the seat beside him.
"Are you happy?" Su Lin asked.
"I'm not happy!" the young man groaned, still biting his toothbrush: "My surname is Zhou."
Crack!
The young man's toothbrush fell to the ground, and he collapsed into unconsciousness.
"Seal his mouth!!"
Amidst Teacher Yan Sen and the others' confused stares, Lu Mingfei activated Time Zero, moving at a blur-like speed to slap a piece of tape—somehow acquired—over Zhou's mouth.
Then Meng Qi formed a Dao seal and applied several binding seals onto the tape over the man's mouth.
The group stood on high alert, weapons nearly drawn, aimed at this ordinary man who emitted no power fluctuations whatsoever.
Su Lin lifted the man's right hand and cursed: "Damn it! Does Zhou Mingrui sleep with his watch on?!"
Zhou Mingrui?!
Then he's from the chat group…
"Holy shit, Chief K!" Huai Shi unfastened his seatbelt, sprinted three steps toward Su Lin—but Su Lin, repulsed, tossed Zhou Mingrui straight to Lu Mingfei.
"Don't dump him on me!" Lu Mingfei kicked Zhou Mingrui in the chest; the man flew like a feather toward Meng Qi.
"Comrade, this thing is destined for you!" Meng Qi used a Taiji technique to shift the already upturned-eyed Zhou Mingrui toward Shi Hao.
Shi Hao had always disbelieved such mystical nonsense; no matter how firmly someone declared it, he could always break it with sheer force.
A flash of electricity crackled inside the tour bus; Shi Hao had already appeared at the vacant driver's seat, while Zhou Mingrui landed on the floor, his head striking the ground with a crisp sound.
At that moment, a cold-faced man stepped out of thin air, one hand cradling Zhou Mingrui as he placed him on a rear seat, then transformed into a spirit-like insect wearing a hat, drilling into time-space and vanishing.
"Why treat Chief K like this?" Huai Shi asked, baffled.
"My apologies—I had a slight stress reaction." Su Lin silently stepped back behind Han Li and poked his back: "Liu Li Ge, are you still online?"
"This is my true body," Han Li nodded, then glanced at a paper doll beside him: "Changshou didn't come along."
"Can't I just be a signal relay here?" Meng Qi glanced at the Ten-World Universal Knowledge Ball in his hand, then pulled open the tour bus's curtain, wincing as he stared at the towering skyscraper:
"Damn, Marvel!"
The group cautiously lifted the curtain, peering out the window: ruined streets, uniformed armed troops patrolling, distant high-rises still smoldering with fire and black smoke.
"By the way, why are you here?" Su Lin asked Huai Shi. "Weren't you assigned to Zhang Heng's team?"
"I received a black letter, then was transferred here," Huai Shi said, expression strange.
So that means—
Su Lin scanned left and right, searching, when he heard a horn outside; on another bus parked nearby, Ye Fan and Xiao Yan were both present.
"Is there a selection mechanism for inviting guests via invitation letters?"
Su Lin frowned—this had never been mentioned beforehand.
So sneaky.
The group disembarked and assembled; vehicles and armed personnel flowed toward a building dozens of meters ahead.
"Isn't this Su Su Tuoni's hometown?"
Ge Xiaolun widened his eyes, pointing to the landmark building: "Stark Industries Tower—I threw a pool party up there with some girls last time."
He glanced at his travel group shirt and added: "Wait—did we come here for a team-building trip to Su Su Tuoni's place?!"
"Marvel has so many worlds—this could be any universe." Meng Qi remained vigilant, using the Cause of All Fruits and the Secret Dao to shield the group.
"True—the Iron Man here may not be the Su Su Tuoni Stark we know," Su Lin nodded.
Everyone observed the first floor of Stark Tower, heavily guarded by security personnel inside and out, waving their Squad Leader flags as they moved to a spot where they could see inside the floor-to-ceiling windows.
Inside, the elevator doors had just opened, and a mummy-like Stark, his head wrapped in bandages, stepped out.
"Doesn't look like him—my guy Su Su Tuoni isn't this clueless."
"Did this Stark just get out of the ICU?"
Huai Shi, carrying Zhou Mingrui, tiptoed to peer inside.
He saw that Stark had barely taken two steps with his suitcase when his whole body convulsed as if struck by lightning.
"It feels like something from Avengers: Endgame."
Lu Mingfei, a seasoned movie fan, curled up in bed with Hui Liyi; having watched countless superhero blockbusters, he instantly recognized the scene and said: "Is this the Timeline of the God of Stories?!"
"Trouble." Meng Qi frowned and immediately moved to lead everyone to enhance their concealment.
At that moment, that Su Su Tuoni Stark shuddered violently!
Rip—!
His clothes tore apart with a dull thud.
A tiny figure in a leather suit instantly expanded, holding an LED light as he flew backward, while Su Su Tuoni Stark, in a single second, executed a series of movements—opening stance, spreading arms, shoulder thrusts, crouching—and unleashed a storm of punches upon the airborne figure in the leather mask!
Each punch shattered stone with inch-power!
Iron Man?!
