Chapter 92: Tokyo Bosozoku

~7 min read 1,271 words

"Why are you in the bathroom again? Who did you pick up this bad habit from?" Su Lin surveyed the cramped surroundings, the air a mix of cigarette smoke and air freshener.

"To throw people off the trail…" Lu Mingfei said, a little embarrassed. He had rendezvoused with Caesar at this Mamba Internet Cafe, and only transmitting from the bathroom was discreet enough.

Su Lin shook his head, pulled out a new historical projection, and slipped himself into the crevice of history, slightly altering the projection's appearance.

After all, his own face was already famous in this world; the moment he stepped outside, someone would probably kneel and bow.

"Can you not use Harry's face…"

"I know Hu Ge too."

In the end, Su Lin simply changed his face into a black-haired, brown-eyed man, harmless in appearance, with a scholarly air.

"Can't you just… forget it." Lu Mingfei, too drained to complain, put the Wu Gong greatsword back into his storage bag, pushed open the bathroom door, and walked outside.

"I thought you two had already arrived at the host club." Su Lin said, following behind Lu Mingfei.

"Still early!" Lu Mingfei said. "And this time I'm definitely not going to a host club to be a host!"

"Fate has already been changed!"

His gaze was firm, brimming with confidence.

"This S-rank, you don't want me to use your historical projection to perform some… exciting acts at the host club, do you?"

Su Lin's voice came from behind Lu Mingfei, calm and indifferent.

Lu Mingfei's neck stiffly twisted around, looking in disbelief at that scholarly face.

"You know what I mean, little cherry blossom."

The other man patted his back, left a smile, and was the first to leave the bathroom. Ignoring Lu Mingfei, who stood frozen in place, he walked out of the internet cafe.

The moment Su Lin stepped out of the internet cafe, he saw a Rolls-Royce parked at the entrance, drawing the gazes of passersby.

The car window rolled down a little. Su Lin glanced at the person inside, then pulled open the door and got in.

Before getting in, he vaguely heard a customer entering say: "Rich people come to places like this too."

"Everyone likes young students."

"But this young man is quite handsome. Is this what they mean by not judging a book by its cover?"

Bang.

The car door closed, and the vehicle began to move.

The driver in front was a tall, beautiful woman, dressed as a secretary, doubling as the driver.

In the back seat, a man who looked exactly like Lu Mingfei said: "This place is actually an internet cafe that offers special services."

"I have some recollection of that." Su Lin said. "For example, how many yen roughly for a lap pillow?"

"2,000 yen."

"You know the market well?" Su Lin said in a surprised tone.

"Hahaha, you're really funny. I remember you are, Zhou Mingrui, or I can call you Klein, right?"

"Did you come to our world this time just to sightsee? Or are there others, like Su Lin?"

"I am Su Lin." Su Lin changed his face back.

"Mm, I know. I did it on purpose."

The driver in front, the instant she saw the man's face, almost couldn't help stomping on the gas.

For Jiu De Mayi, this world was getting stranger and stranger.

After being freed from her babysitter duties, first her own boss brought someone who looked like Lu Mingfei—well, not just looked like him; Jiu De Mayi felt this was Lu Mingfei himself, and the guy even called himself Lu Mingfei.

The boss announced he was stepping back to the second line, and from then on, this person was the big boss.

The big boss today demanded she put on an OL outfit, while muttering, "On a certain route, this is how you seduced me. What nostalgia."

Jiu De Mayi didn't understand at all; she even suspected her boss had sold her, sold her to this lsp version of Lu Mingfei.

During her recovery, she saw a news report: the guy who had entered her head in the deep sea was a god of unknown origin—a god had descended to the mortal world?! Jiu De Mayi felt she herself had transmigrated.

Chips Girl said that god was one of their own; she had been somewhat skeptical at first.

And now that god was sitting in the back seat chatting with the lsp big boss, the two of them laughing and talking as if old friends.

She had many questions, but her only task right now was to be a good driver.

A rumbling roar came from the road beside them. At the head was a blood-red Viper sports car, its engine sounding like a monster growling.

Behind it came a string of modified heavy motorcycles!

These motorcycles followed closely behind, each carrying two or three people, ranging in age from their teens to twenties—a gang of bosozoku.

"Old Lu, you know what?" Su Lin picked up a bottle of drink, watching the bosozoku speeding past the window, and said: "In my hometown, there's another name for them—ghost-fire youths."

"They're far more brutal than ghost-fire youths." Old Lu said. "They love thrills, willing to gamble their lives for excitement, hot-headed, so sometimes they'll kill someone just for liking a delinquent girl."

"Seasoned yakuza kill for profit and dignity, but these guys just think it looks cool."

"They don't know the value of life, squandering it, killing at will—truly disgusting."

Old Lu commented.

Su Lin silently watched the bosozoku flashing past. Within his perception, one of them carried a faint trace of light-element aura.

Generally speaking, ordinary people who had been hit by the light spell Su Lin used during his last apotheosis—if they had no major lingering issues—the aura would dissipate quickly.

Unless it was a serious injury, it was hard for any light-spell aura to remain.

"How tragic." Su Lin said.

After barely snatching back a life.

They thought themselves hunters, relying on numbers and modern controlled weapons to hunt, not knowing their target this time was a Godzilla.

"This is about as far as we need to go—stop here." Su Lin said to Jiu De Mayi.

Jiu De Mayi glanced at her big boss, confirmed his nod, and stepped on the brake.

"This spot is just right." Su Lin pulled open the car door, watching the red Viper sports car stop at the internet cafe entrance, its trunk popped open.

The motorcycle with red flame decals stopped behind them, and the bosozoku gang members got off and pulled out fire guns and machetes from the back.

Several box trucks rolled in from a distant street, blocking the main thoroughfare.

"Do you guys have sunflower seeds?" Su Lin asked.

Lao Lu asked Jiude Mayi: "Do we have sunflower seeds in the car?"

"This Rolls-Royce is rented," Jiude Mayi replied. "It only came with these complimentary drinks and snacks."

"No worries, I've got some." Su Lin used his omnipotent History Projection to pull out three bags of sunflower seeds, and changed his face back to that harmless, scholarly-looking one.

Too bad they weren't real sunflower seeds.

Jiude Mayi watched her big boss and this guy suspected of being a "god" squatting by the roadside, the two of them cracking sunflower seeds and casually spitting the shells onto the streets of Tokyo.

She glanced at the sunflower seeds in her own hand, then gave up on the urge for the sake of elegance.

"When do you think he'll make his entrance?"

"The hero always shows up at the last critical moment."
