Chapter 642: Suicide Dao
"Promoting the Dao—to propagate one's own Great Dao?"
Li Heng muttered to himself, lost in thought.
By tracing the Causality behind this passage, he already understood the origin of this Beyond Realm; it had actually been opened up by an existence who had surpassed the level of "Promoting the Dao" countless ages ago.
And was the purpose of opening it perhaps exactly as that passage stated?
"No wonder all kinds of Great Daos are displayed in this realm with almost no reservations; it looks as if there is not the slightest bit of concealment. Only in this way does it conform to the true meaning of Promoting the Dao."
Li Heng nodded and continued to speculate.
If any living being below this level of "Promoting the Dao" were to see the many concepts and Great Daos displayed in this realm, they would likely ascend to the heavens in a single step and achieve a supreme, peerless state.
The price one would need to pay would most likely just be being influenced by these Great Daos, making it difficult to transcend one's own Dao, and there might not even be any worry of Daoization.
This is simply too selfless, yet living beings are selfish. Even the selfless gods who abandon everything to open up Heaven and Earth, becoming Heaven and Earth themselves, are the same.
After all, Heaven and Earth can also be considered the interests of that god.
So, since that is the case, within this noble selflessness, there naturally exists the selfishness and fundamental interests of every person who promotes the Dao, which is most likely to propagate their own Great Dao and increase their influence.
In a certain sense.
Li Heng even felt that the existence who could open up this realm and leave behind that passage just now was doing exactly that.
After all, this existence forcibly set the realm as "Promoting the Dao," which in a sense also occupied the right to interpret this realm, incorporating other "Promoting the Dao" practitioners into their own system, making them cultivate and speculate in the direction of propagating the Great Dao; it could be said that this encompassed other great powers of the Dao.
This is like the term "Daluo," which originally came from Daoism and was used to describe Daoist immortals who had ascended to the Daluo Heaven. But sometimes it is widely used for other mythological figures who do not belong to Daoism, such as Nuwa, Fuxi, Haotian, and Taiyi.
"Interesting. The right to interpret—is it the same as that Dao Lord?"
Li Heng's expression was subtle; he thought of the so-called Void Dao Lord he had only just learned about. The two were indeed somewhat similar in essence, both occupying a certain right to interpret.
He discovered that the name "Promoting the Dao" was not just talk; it truly and practically defined the realm he was currently in.
For instance, he had just wanted to negate the term "Promoting the Dao" and switch to another noun—anything at all, as long as it wasn't "Promoting the Dao," such as "Transcendence," "God Seat," "Taiyi," or "Daluo"—but he found he couldn't change it at all; it was all denied by some mysterious force.
It was even difficult to make himself not acknowledge this term.
Once one denies this term, it is as if an invisible, supreme monument stands before one's eyes, with the two characters "Promoting the Dao" written upon it, suppressing all Great Daos, explaining all concepts, and defining everything, making it fundamentally impossible for one to transcend or cross over.
Want to deny this term? Very well.
Be stronger and more reasonable than it first.
If one cannot even cross the inclusion of the two characters "Promoting the Dao," then do not harbor delusions of denying it; it is better to obediently stay on the path of "Promoting the Dao" and cultivate, continuing to walk the path of those who came before.
This might leave one shrouded in the shadow of predecessors, unable to achieve Transcendence. But the path of the predecessors is also a ready-made path, a convenient path; one does not need to open up a path oneself, nor does one need to care if this path is broken. It is simply too easy to use.
In the mysterious depths.
Li Heng even felt a faint, mocking sound reach his ears.
And then it told him as follows.
After a long time, Li Heng took a deep breath, his mind calming down. The Heavenly Dao is not enough to be taken as law, the ancestors are not enough to be feared; all things move forward, and the blue will surely be better than the indigo.
Even if there are predecessors suppressing the way ahead, so what?
Just hold one's head high and transcend past them.
If he did not have this kind of confidence, even with Source Power, he would not have reached this level today. Everything here was obtained through his own hard work; Source Power only accelerated this process. Furthermore, the Visualization Divine Ability and Source Power themselves were originally the embodiment of his talent, so there is no need for concern.
He continued to observe this Beyond Realm.
The many concepts and Great Daos here are both a benefit and a trap.
For example, the Cycle Dao that Li Heng saw at first glance—the insights into the Great Dao within it benefited him greatly and even stabilized the foundation of his "Promoting the Dao" that he had just ascended to; this is the benefit.
But if one's own Dao is too weak, then it is highly likely to be trapped by this Cycle Dao and contained within it. In the end, even if one does not revere the Cycle Dao as the truth, one will still faintly cultivate in the direction of the Cycle Dao; this is the trap.
However, this does not matter to him, Li.
It is not yet time for a clash of Great Daos; this is merely a common display of the Great Dao. If he were to have his own Dao shaken just by looking at it for a few moments, then what is he cultivating for?
So now, Li Heng is too lazy to care about the risks within; he browses through these Great Daos and concepts. These are the Great Daos of figures at the same level as him, and they are worth his reference.
As he watched, Li Heng could not help but marvel, because some Great Daos did not conform to the common sense he believed in at all; for instance, there was one Great Dao that incited others to commit suicide.
The theoretical foundation of this Suicide Dao is that complete death is complete Transcendence; the more thoroughly one dies, the more thoroughly one transcends, and one can transcend the constraints of the laws of the world, becoming increasingly powerful. This led to a series of death-evolution logics: people die and become ghosts, ghosts die and become Town, Town die and become xi, xi die and become yi, and so on.
The most outrageous thing is that this Suicide Dao could even appear in this Beyond Realm, proving that this kind of Great Dao has feasibility, which made Li Heng, a normal person, drop his jaw in shock.
He considered himself crazy enough, otherwise he would not have condensed his Heaven and Earth Dharma Form and created the Thirty-Six Heavens. But looking at it now, it is not as if there are no people crazier than him.
However, Li Heng is now very curious about how the person who cultivates the Suicide Dao is doing now? Especially this guy who has already cultivated to the level of "Promoting the Dao"—could it be that the person is dead, but the Great Dao still remains?
After all, from his current perspective, this Great Dao is a dead end; the destination will only lead to that destined, desperate, and meaningless future, which was determined from the very beginning.
Even if complete death means complete Transcendence, since one is already completely dead, that also means one cannot interfere with anything in the world; what is the point of Transcendence then?
True Transcendence should at least be able to jump out and jump back in, right?
Li Heng shook his head, somewhat unable to understand what the person cultivating this Great Dao is thinking. But perhaps this is a case of "those with different Daos do not plot together," destined to be like a chicken talking to a duck, or perhaps they just don't fit in the same pot.
This also reminded him of an incident he encountered before.
Back then, he was hit by a Forbidden Weapon of the Multiverse Alliance, but he was immediately blasted out of the Great Void, out of existence, and fell into an inexplicable realm: the Holy Eternal Silence Land.
Could that realm be related to this Suicide Dao?
