Chapter 56: Evil Array
When Lingyun received the call from Huang Luo, he had just returned to the building where he lived.
"Boss, is something the matter?" Lingyun asked.
Huang Luo paused for a moment, then took a deep breath: "Fourth, can you come over here? I feel like there is something wrong with our company's building. Write down the address."
Lingyun noted down the address, hailed a taxi, and rushed toward the Haoyu Group building.
After hanging up the phone, Huang Luo looked around, feeling unsettled; he had been more sensitive than others since he was a child. Just a moment ago, he had vaguely felt something clinging to him, but a careful search revealed no traces, which made him feel uneasy.
"Fourth said something like that to me before; perhaps he really has a way?" Huang Luo thought to himself.
When Lingyun got out of the taxi, the bodies near the building had already been taken away, and the crowd had dispersed. Looking at the building in front of him, Lingyun could not help but frown slightly. In his eyes, this building was already surrounded by Yin Energy and Evil Energy; under these circumstances, it was easy for people working in the building to meet with misfortune.
"Fourth, what are you looking at?" Huang Luo came out of the building and, at first glance, saw Lingyun frowning as he examined the structure.
"Boss, your building has seen quite a few deaths recently, hasn't it?" Lingyun asked softly.
"This... Fourth, how did you know?" Huang Luo looked at Lingyun, his face full of shock. One had to know that the public relations department of Haoyu Group was quite powerful; although many incidents had occurred recently, they had all been suppressed. That Lingyun could see that something had happened here at a glance could not help but surprise him.
"It's crowded and noisy here, not a good place to talk. Find a safe place, and we'll discuss it further!" Lingyun said.
"Come, follow me!" Huang Luo said.
Lingyun followed Huang Luo into the building and arrived in a quite luxuriously decorated room.
"This place is my private office. Without my orders, no one will come in. You can say whatever you need to!"
Lingyun looked toward the center of Huang Luo's brow; a trace of black energy had appeared there again.
"Do you believe that Yin Souls exist in this world?"
"Yin Souls?" Huang Luo looked puzzled, and he could not help but recall what Qian Shu had said to him before, as well as the situation his family had encountered. "Could it be that such things really exist in this world? Fourth, do you mean that the matters at the building are related to Yin Souls? But this is just too unbelievable."
"I know it's hard for you to believe, but it's better to let you see it for yourself! Boss, are you brave enough? Do you want to witness a real Yin Soul, or even a Fierce Spirit?" Lingyun said to Huang Luo with a smile.
"Do these things really exist?" Huang Luo said to Lingyun with a smile. "Hehe, Fourth, you know I've always been very brave; seeing one is no big deal!"
"Then get ready!" Lingyun tapped the center of Huang Luo's brow.
Huang Luo only felt a sharp pain in his eyes, and then he saw Lingyun reach out into the Void toward his body, pulling out a pale shadow. The shadow was pulled into Lingyun's hand, emitting a piercing shriek that made Huang Luo feel extremely uncomfortable.
Huang Luo's gaze fell upon the white shadow. It gradually solidified, and in the end, its entire appearance could be seen: it was draped in long hair that covered its entire face. When the white shadow raised its head, Huang Luo discovered that its eyes had no whites, and a line of blood tears flowed down the corners of its eyes. Seeing that such a terrifying thing had been inside his own body, Huang Luo instantly turned pale.
The white shadow struggled desperately, trying to break free from Lingyun's hand, but who was Lingyun? Would he let it escape so easily? A flash of red light crossed Lingyun's hand, and the white shadow shrieked and suddenly withered.
"F-Fourth, is this guy the Yin Soul you were talking about?" Huang Luo took a deep breath, only then suppressing the urge to scream.
"This is just a very ordinary Yin Soul; its strength is not very high, but it is enough to affect a person's mind. Your building must have had quite a few deaths recently." Lingyun flicked his hand, and after one last shriek, the white shadow rapidly shrank into a small white ball in Lingyun's hand before shattering into specks of light and vanishing.
"It... disappeared. Did you destroy it?" Huang Luo asked, trembling. He felt that his worldview had collapsed; the Yin Souls that previously only appeared in legends had actually appeared before him. "In that case, is the building safe now?"
"You're thinking too simply. Someone has set up an Array in this building. This Array automatically gathers Yin Energy from heaven and earth, attracting Fierce Spirits. This white shadow was just one of them. For every life lost in your building recently, there is now such a Yin Soul inside. Hmm, and there is also a powerful Yin Soul acting as the Array Eye." Lingyun's expression was somewhat grave.
Huang Luo's face turned very ugly, but after seeing Lingyun's move just now, he placed all his hope in Lingyun: "Fourth, can you solve the Feng Shui Array in this building?"
"This Array will continue to strengthen as the death toll increases. If it were a while longer, I might truly have no way, but for now, I can still handle it." Lingyun's Divine Sense permeated outward; his detection range of over a hundred meters was enough to envelop this building of several dozen floors. He had already probed the general information of the Array set up in the building; this could be considered a major advantage of Divine Sense.
"That's great, let's act immediately!" Huang Luo looked at Lingyun, somewhat excited.
Lingyun shook his head: "Don't be so anxious. It's daytime now, and most of the Yin Souls are lurking. Besides, there are so many people in the building now; if I break the Array, I might accidentally harm the innocent. Let's wait until tonight to come back for this matter. Remember to clear out all the people here by tonight!"
"Clear them all out? Fourth, can you handle so many Yin Souls all by yourself?" Huang Luo asked with some concern.
"Rest assured, if I didn't have enough confidence, I wouldn't have said such things to you. Besides, do you think ordinary people could handle these illusory Yin Souls?" Lingyun gave Huang Luo a reassuring look.
"Then, Fourth, this time it all depends on you." Huang Luo looked at Lingyun, saying with a face full of expectation.
"Boss, you must remember to clear out everyone in the building when the time comes. I need to go prepare some things to deal with the Yin Souls I will face tonight." Lingyun stood up and said.
"I leave everything to you."
Leaving the building, Lingyun could not help but frown slightly. He found that Huang Luo seemed a bit abnormal today; he was too trusting of him. One had to know that an average person facing this situation should first react with disbelief; even if he and Huang Luo were roommates, the level of trust shouldn't be this high. However, he had not discovered any traces of anyone having tampered with Huang Luo.
"Forget it, I should understand such things in the future. For now, I'd better prepare to deal with that Fierce Spirit tonight." Lingyun temporarily set this matter aside and began to prepare the items he would need for the night.
