Chapter 57: Breaking the Array
"Master, what did Huang Luo want with you?" Seeing Lingyun return, Luo Yexi asked.
"His family has run into some trouble, and I have to go resolve it tonight. Now, I need to prepare some things I'll be using later." Lingyun waved his hand.
"Do you need me to help? After all, Master, your strength isn't very high yet."
Lingyun smiled and shook his head: "No need. I'm not exactly powerless; they're just a few Yin Souls, I'll be able to handle them quickly."
At night, the moon hanging high in the sky was obscured by clusters of dark clouds, and the earth was plunged into gloom. In the Haoyu Group building under these conditions, bursts of faint, intermittent screams echoed, giving one a hair-raising feeling.
Lingyun appeared alone in front of the building. Looking at the structure before him, he frowned slightly. In his eyes, over a dozen white shadows were darting back and forth on the building, occasionally letting out eerie cries.
"Old Four, you're here?" Two people suddenly emerged from behind Lingyun; one was Huang Luo, and the other was Qian Shu.
"Didn't I say earlier that I could handle this alone? It wouldn't be good if I accidentally hurt you." Lingyun frowned slightly.
"Don't worry, we won't run around. Besides, I also want to see your heroic bearing, Old Four." Huang Luo patted Lingyun's shoulder in a carefree manner.
"Protecting the Young Master is my duty!" Qian Shu said coldly.
"Fine, I really can't do anything about you two! Luckily, I came prepared. Catch these, wear them on your bodies, and don't take them off!" Lingyun took two amulets out of his trouser pocket and tossed them to Huang Luo.
Huang Luo caught the amulets and, grinning, handed one to Qian Shu. Qian Shu accepted the amulet somewhat reluctantly; in his eyes, although Lingyun was his Young Master's roommate, he currently felt no different from a charlatan.
"Damn, what is that?" After putting on the amulet, Huang Luo looked toward the building and couldn't help but exclaim. Thanks to the amulet, he could also see those white shadows dancing around the building.
"These are the guys making your group's building restless. Besides, didn't you just see these guys today?" Lingyun chuckled and walked toward the building.
Just as he entered the building, Lingyun heard a chorus of ghostly wails. White shadows lunged from the walls, surrounding him completely. The white shadows circling Lingyun all wore eerie smiles, slowly walking toward him in the center of the circle, as if they wanted to devour him alive.
"Mere Yin Souls that have just reached the Qi Refining Realm, with only early Yellow Tier strength, and you dare to be arrogant in front of me?" Lingyun sneered. He formed a hand seal, and a red light spread out from his hands. The ghosts that got close let out screams and several were evaporated instantly.
Seeing their opponent was so powerful, the ghost shadows let out strange cries one after another and scattered rapidly in all directions. At the same time, bursts of Yin Energy radiated from them, attempting to erode Lingyun's body.
Lingyun's expression turned cold, and the hand seal changed. A scorching aura swept out from him in all directions; this was authentic Nine Yang True Qi. The moment the Yin Energy radiating from the Yin Souls touched the Nine Yang True Qi, it was like meeting a natural enemy and dissipated rapidly.
Seeing that their trump card was useless against Lingyun, the Yin Souls panicked and screamed as they tried to flee. Lingyun would not let them go. With a flick of his hand, he quickly drew several runes, and several fireballs appeared rapidly around him, attacking the Yin Souls.
"Bang, bang, bang!" The Yin Souls struck by the fireballs instantly shattered into fragments and drifted away in the air.
Huang Luo and his companion had just entered and saw this scene, and they couldn't help but be greatly astonished.
"Xiao Luo, is this really your roommate, and not some Master?" Qian Shu asked with an incredulous look.
"That's right, this really is my roommate. But I also just found out he had this kind of ability!" Huang Luo was also quite surprised.
Seeing others enter, the Yin Souls let out angry roars and flew rapidly toward the two. However, as soon as the Yin Souls approached them, they couldn't help but shriek. A burst of golden light erupted violently from Huang Luo and his companion, repelling all the Yin Souls that had swarmed them.
A glimmer of light flashed in Lingyun's hand. He stepped forward, and with a wave of his right hand, arrows of fire shot out from his hands, aimed directly at those Yin Souls. The Yin Souls shrieked and scattered in all directions; they felt a fatal crisis from the fire arrows.
"Can you run?" A cold sneer tugged at the corner of Lingyun's mouth as his Divine Sense permeated the fire arrows.
The fire arrows instantly seemed to grow eyes, darting rapidly through mid-air. Each arrow accurately struck a Yin Soul. A burst of sparks exploded in the lobby, and the lobby was suddenly cleared.
"Is it over?" Huang Luo asked.
"No, these were just small fry. The real master has arrived." Lingyun shook his head.
"Woo woo woo—" A low groan came from afar, making Huang Luo and Qian Shu shudder. A whirlwind whipped up in the lobby, and a black shadow appeared before the three of them.
Looking at the black shadow that had appeared, Huang Luo's expression changed drastically. This black shadow looked extremely terrifying; its body was covered in blood and filth, it was missing an eye, and blood was continuously flowing from its abdomen.
"Old Four, th-this is?" Huang Luo's voice trembled slightly.
"Just a dead ghost. Watch me take it down!" Lingyun smiled faintly. The strength of this Yin Soul was indeed much stronger than the previous white ones, but it was only at the peak of the Qi Refining Realm, which was to say, the peak of the Yellow Tier.
A miserable howl erupted from the black shadow's mouth as it lunged rapidly at Lingyun. A faint red light shone from Lingyun's hand. He struck out with his palm, colliding heavily with the black shadow's claws.
Yin Energy and Nine Yang True Qi clashed, and a gust of wind spread outward. Lingyun stood motionless, but the Yin Soul was knocked flying, drifting a long way through mid-air.
Having failed to achieve success with one blow and instead being faintly suppressed, the Yin Soul let out a strange cry and vanished into the Void.
Lingyun expanded his Divine Sense and instantly locked onto the invisible Yin Soul. The power within his body transformed once more into Nine Yang Power, and he struck toward a spot in the Void. With a "Bang," a black shadow was forced out by Lingyun. At the same time, the Yin Energy on its body dimmed significantly; it was clear it had suffered a great loss just now.
"It's time to send you on your way." Sensing the power within the Yin Soul beginning to swell, Lingyun understood that the person behind the scenes who had set up the Array had given the order for it to fight to the death.
The Yin Soul let out a roar, its form expanding rapidly as it lunged straight at Huang Luo, looking as if it intended to perish together with him.
"Do you really think I'm transparent?" Lingyun sneered coldly. His figure flashed and appeared before the Yin Soul, Nine Yang Power gathering in both palms, which he slammed heavily onto the Yin Soul.
Bursts of green smoke drifted from the Yin Soul. The powerful Nine Yang Power gushing from Lingyun's palms directly dispersed all the Yin Energy on the Yin Soul, and the Yin Soul's figure vanished into the air.
"Bang, bang." With the Yin Soul that served as the Array Eye gone, the Feng Shui Array collapsed. Huang Luo and Qian Shu also felt the gloomy aura in the building vanish.
"Old Four, is it done?" Huang Luo asked with lingering fear. The battle just now looked very simple, but the thought that one side was a ghost made his hair stand on end.
"It's done. I'm heading back first; leave the aftermath to you two. By the way, remember not to disclose the information that I was the one who solved this." Lingyun waved his hand and left the building.
Walking out the front door, Lingyun saw someone leaning against the corner of the building.
"Ye Xi, why are you here?" Lingyun walked up to the person.
"Of course I was worried about you, Master. However, it doesn't look like it was any big trouble. Since the matter is settled, let's go." Luo Yexi spread her hands.
"Let's go." Lingyun and Luo Yexi left the place together.
Still in that same Villa, the black-robed person looked at the shattered Copper Plate before him, his expression somewhat gloomy.
"Who exactly is working against me, and with such high-level strength? It seems necessary to have Zhong Feng investigate. The Huang Family, hmph, Huang Family, I will definitely make your family vanish into dust!"
