Chapter 103: Strength

~6 min read 1,156 words

The Wizard Apprentice sitting beside him shrugged, his tone carrying a hint of helplessness: "This is headquarters' order; we can only obey. Moreover, this operation will have Knight Anxi assisting us."

"Knight Anxi?" Na Si Da's eyes flashed with surprise, "the Anxi who is called the 'Legendary Wolf Knight'?"

"That's right, that's him." Another Wizard Apprentice nodded, his tone bearing a hint of awe, "It's said he's one of the strongest knights in the west, once single‑handedly repelled a horde of beastmen. With his assistance, this operation should go much smoother."

Na Si Da was silent for a moment, then whispered, "Since headquarters dispatched Knight Anxi, this operation must be of great importance. We must act carefully and cannot afford any mistake."

Meanwhile, far away in Wei Er Ke Ling, Robin was unaware that a covert capture operation targeting him had already begun.

He was sitting in his own room, carefully studying the Viscountess's books about Wizards, trying to uncover the secrets of the Soul‑Eating Crystal.

A few days later, Robin was patrolling the farmland of his domain when he suddenly sensed a powerful Magic Wave emanating from afar.

He quickly looked up and saw a figure clad in silver‑white armor, with a wolf on a leash walking toward him.

"Legendary Wolf Knight Anxi!" the knight Zhang Bo Lun who was following Robin whispered.

"Legendary Knight!" Robin's eyes instantly lit up.

Since surpassing the Legendary Knight, he hasn't fought and doesn't know exactly how strong he is now.

"You are Ai Lun·Wei Er Ke!" Anxi asked coldly.

Robin nodded and asked, "What is it?"

"Then that's correct; the Wizard Council wants you to help investigate a matter," Anxi said, then reached out his hand toward Robin.

Both froze in place; Anxi found he couldn't move Robin, while Robin showed a playful smile.

Anxi's brows twitched slightly, a flash of surprise in his eyes. As a Legendary Wolf Knight, his strength far exceeds that of a Great Knight; even a peer Legendary Knight would find it hard to remain unmoved by his power.

But Robin before him stood like a mountain, steady in place, even his face bearing a hint of playful smile.

"Just you alone?" Robin asked again, his tone tinged with mockery.

Anxi's expression instantly darkened; he released his hand, stepped back, and stared at Robin coldly: "It seems I underestimated you."

Robin smiled, his tone relaxed: "Knight Anxi, I've long heard of your fame. But if you think you alone can take me, that's far too naive."

Anxi snorted coldly; the reins in his hand twitched, and the wolf immediately let out a low growl, baring its sharp fangs.

Anxi's gaze was as sharp as a blade, his tone carrying a warning: "Ai Lun·Wei Er Ke, the Wizard Council's order is not to be defied. If you persist in resistance, you bear the consequences yourself."

Robin shrugged, his tone laced with disdain: "The Wizard Council's order? Sorry, I'm not interested in your commands. If you truly want to capture me, then show some real skill."

A flash of anger crossed Anxi's eyes; he swiftly drew the long sword at his waist, its blade flashing cold light in the sun: "If that's the case, don't blame me for being impolite!"

Before the words finished, Anxi's figure surged toward Robin like lightning, the wolf following closely, emitting a deep roar.

A spark of excitement flashed in Robin's eyes; he quickly drew the Great Horse Leather Steel Tang Sword and met Anxi's attack.

Their weapons clashed in the air, producing a crisp metallic clang.

The powerful impact shook the surrounding air, kicking up dust from the fields into a small whirlwind.

"Impressive power," Robin said softly, his tone bearing a hint of admiration.

Anxi's expression grew even more solemn. He had originally thought Robin was just an ordinary knight, not expecting the opponent's strength to be so formidable.

He swiftly adjusted his stance and launched another attack, his blade sweeping toward Robin like a raging storm.

Robin, however, seemed at ease; he employed the Spirit Snake Breathing Method to boost his agility and reaction speed, easily evading Anxi's assault.

At the same time, the Tang Sword in his hand moved like a supple poisonous snake, striking intermittently and forcing Anxi to retreat.

"Knight Anxi, is that all the skill you have?" Robin said with a smile, his tone tinged with provocation.

Anxi's complexion grew even uglier; he swung his long sword violently, and a surge of powerful Magic Wave suddenly erupted from the blade.

The wolf also let out a low growl, opened its massive blood‑stained maw, and lunged at Robin.

"A wolf knight's combined technique?" a flash of surprise crossed Robin's eyes, but he quickly regained composure. He swiftly activated the Dragon Devouring Breathing Method, causing his Life Force and Magic Power to surge together, forming a faint golden aura.

"Come then, let me see the true strength of the Legendary Wolf Knight!" Robin whispered, then swung his sword directly at Anxi.

Their battle instantly entered a feverish stage, blade against Tang Sword clashing repeatedly in the air, emitting a harsh metallic screech.

The wolf's roar and Robin's low growl intertwined, painting a vivid scene of fierce combat.

Not far away, Robin's guard knight Zhang Bo Lun's mouth was agape, his face shocked as he watched everything before him.

The strongest knight in the northwest, Anxi, was unexpectedly locked in an indecisive clash with their family's young master Ai Lun·Wei Er Ke.

As time passed, Anxi's complexion grew increasingly grim.

No matter how he attacked, Robin could easily cope, even counterattacking from time to time. Moreover, Robin's strength and speed seemed to keep rising.

"This guy… what kind of monster is he?" Anxi thought inwardly, a flash of shock in his eyes.

At that moment, Robin suddenly halted his attack, stepped back a few paces, and smiled, "Knight Anxi, your strength is indeed impressive, but still insufficient to take me. If you have no other means, then let this be the end."

Anxi's complexion instantly turned pale; he could no longer defeat Robin. He clenched his teeth and whispered, "Ai Lun·Wei Er Ke, don't be reckless, here…"

Before Anxi could finish speaking, his wolf was cleaved in two by Robin's sword.

Robin stared in surprise at the Tang Sword in his hand, realizing how strong he had become.

"Wolf West!" Anxi shouted, roaring as he charged at Robin.

"Double Wolf Slash!" A single sword cut out two red giant wolves, formed from condensed Life Force, lunging at Robin.

Robin stood his ground, facing Anxi's furious charge and the two red giant wolves forged from Life Force, his face showing no hint of panic.

A chill flickered in his eyes, the corners of his mouth lifting slightly, revealing a confident smile.

"Primary all‑attribute enhancement! Magic resistance circuit activated!" Robin whispered, his internal Life Force and Magic Power erupting instantly, forming a faint golden glow.
