Chapter 105: Half‑Moon Slash
Na Sida's complexion instantly turned sour; he hadn't expected Viscount Weierke and Viscountess Weierke to stand up so forcefully to protect Robin.
He had originally thought that, by virtue of the Wizard Council's prestige, the Weierke family would obediently hand over Robin, but he didn't expect matters to reach this point.
"Viscount Weierke, Viscountess Weierke, are you openly defying the Wizard Council's orders?" Na Sida said coldly, his tone carrying a hint of threat.
Viscount Weierke smiled faintly, his tone tinged with disdain: "Sir Na Sida, we naturally respect the Wizard Council's orders, but you dare to come onto my lands and seize people without any evidence; you seem to disregard us Western Nobles, don't you?"
Viscountess Meilita also said coldly, "Exactly. If there is no evidence, then please leave. Otherwise, don't blame us for being impolite."
Na Sida's expression grew even gloomier; he instinctively glanced around, as if waiting for the Anxi Knight's arrival.
The Anxi Knight, however, did not appear for a long time, causing a vague unease in Na Sida's heart.
"Anxi Knight... why hasn't he come yet?" Na Sida muttered softly, his tone edged with anxiety.
Robin stood aside, staring coldly at Na Sida, a hint of sarcasm flashing in his eyes: "Sir Na Sida, are you waiting for the Anxi Knight? I'm sorry, he may not be able to come."
Na Sida's complexion instantly turned pale; he whirled his head sharply, fixing his gaze on Robin: "You... what did you do to the Anxi Knight?"
Robin smiled, his tone laced with coldness: "I did nothing. However, if you don't leave, I can't guarantee what will happen next."
A foreboding feeling surged in Na Sida's heart; he knew he had already fallen into a passive position.
Without the Anxi Knight's support, just the few of them could not possibly stand against the Weierke family's knight order.
"Fine, very well." Na Sida said through clenched teeth, his tone edged with anger, "Viscount Weierke, Viscountess Weierke, your actions today will not be forgotten by the Wizard Council. Let's go!"
After speaking, Na Sida led his men and swiftly left the manor. Robin watched their backs, a trace of coldness flashing in his eyes.
"Father, mother, thank you," Robin whispered, his tone carrying a hint of gratitude.
Viscount Weierke patted Robin's shoulder, his voice gentle: "Allen, you are our son; of course we will protect you. However, the Wizard Council will not give up easily, you must be careful."
Viscountess Meilita also nodded, her voice tinged with concern: "That's right, Allen. The Wizard Council's power is far greater than we imagined, but you need not worry; we Western Nobles will not let the Wizard Council run rampant as it does in the southern provinces."
On the road back to Aobedi City.
Na Sida sat in the carriage, his face dreadfully grim. In his mind the Viscount Weierke and Viscountess Weierke's forceful attitude, and Robin's meaning‑laden smile, kept echoing.
The Anxi Knight's disappearance gave him a strong sense of unease, as if an invisible net were slowly tightening.
"Western Nobles... what exactly are they planning?" Na Sida muttered softly, his tone edged with anxiety.
The relationship between the Western Nobles and the Wizard Council has always been very tense.
These nobles are mostly people who were marginalized by their families in those days, forced to go west to develop territories.
As the west developed, these nobles gradually rose, becoming the backbone of the western provinces.
Their dislike and hostility toward the Wizard Council have long ceased to be a secret.
"The Anxi Knight's disappearance... is definitely not a coincidence," Na Sida's eyes flashed with coldness, "The Western Nobles must be planning some major move, and the Anxi Knight's disappearance is only the beginning."
He quickly fished a communication crystal from his coat and whispered a short incantation.
A beam of light rose from the crystal, followed by a deep voice: "Na Sida, what's the matter?"
"Sir, the situation is unfavorable," Na Sida said softly, his tone urgent, "The Anxi Knight has disappeared, the Western Nobles' stance is very forceful; I suspect they are plotting actions against the Wizard Council."
The voice in the communication crystal fell silent for a moment, then said coldly, "Are you sure?"
Na Sida nodded, his tone firm, "I am certain. Viscount Weierke and Viscountess Weierke openly defied the Wizard Council's orders, even threatening us. Without the Western Nobles' support, they would never dare such arrogance."
The voice in the crystal fell silent again for a moment, then whispered, "Understood. Return to your post immediately and tighten security. I will report to headquarters and request support."
Na Sida nodded, then shut off the communication crystal. He leaned against the carriage seat, exhaling a long breath, yet the unease in his heart was not eased at all.
"Western Nobles... what exactly are you planning?" Na Sida muttered softly, a flash of coldness in his eyes.
Robin sat at his desk, cradling a hefty martial arts tome, his gaze fixed on the pages. The pages detailed a technique called "Half-Moon Slash," its description concise yet brimming with power. A spark of excitement flashed in Robin's eyes; he knew this technique was exactly what he needed right now.
"Condense Life Force onto the weapon and slash a half‑moon; the power depends on the degree of Life Force condensation..." Robin whispered the passage, his tone admiring, "A technique with no ceiling, only the user's limit... this is tailor‑made for me!"
Robin sprang to his feet, grabbed the Great Horse Leather Warrior Steel Tang Sword beside him, and moved to the open area of the room. He inhaled deeply, began employing the Dragon Devouring Breathing Method, and Life Force surged within him as if a massive dragon roared through his veins.
"Half‑Moon Slash!" Robin shouted low, swinging his Tang Sword with sudden force. A brilliant crescent of light burst from the blade, slicing the air instantly and striking the wall ahead.
"Boom!"
The Half‑Moon Slash's light hit the wall, producing a massive roar. A deep fissure appeared on the wall, as if split by a giant axe. Robin looked at the crack, a hint of satisfaction flashing in his eyes.
"Not bad, but it can be stronger," Robin muttered softly, then again activated the Dragon Devouring Breathing Method, Life Force surging anew within him.
This time, he condensed even more Life Force onto the Tang Sword. The blade's light grew brighter, like a full moon rising in the room. Robin swung the sword abruptly, a far larger crescent of light bursting from the edge, charging straight at the wall.
"Boom!"
This time the power was several times stronger than before; the wall was completely pierced, revealing the scenery beyond. Robin stared at the massive fissure, excitement flashing in his eyes.
