Chapter 112: Encounter

~6 min read 1,120 words

Wizard Council, Round Table Council, Black Wizard Covenant… these forces are all secretly coveting the West, and Minerva City is their main target.

"Minerva Knight Academy… the best knight academy in the West," Robin murmured, a hint of expectation flashing in his eyes.

The Minerva Knight Academy not only trains knights, but also serves as a battlefield where various forces vie for talent.

Those who can stand out in the academy are often courted by the major factions.

The former Legendary Wolf Knight Anxi came from the Western Knight Academy, but he was of common birth, despised the nobles, and therefore chose to join the Wizard Council.

Robin's goal is to use the academy's power to further boost his own strength while uncovering the details of each faction.

A few hours later, the carriage finally arrived at Minerva City.

The city gate was already packed with young knights coming to take the entrance exam, and the guards busily directed traffic.

Robin's carriage slowly entered the city; the townsfolk on both sides of the street stopped to watch, their eyes full of awe and envy.

"Young Master Allen, we have arrived," Zhang Bolun said softly, his tone carrying a hint of solemnity.

Robin nodded, his gaze sweeping over the city's scenery.

Minerva City's splendor far exceeds Wilk Territory; shops line the streets, people come and go, bustling beyond compare.

Robin, however, vaguely sensed a current of hidden flow, as if behind the city's prosperity lay countless conspiracies and dangers.

The carriage slowly moved into Minerva City's central district; the buildings on either side grew ever more majestic, and pedestrians' attire became more elaborate.

Robin's eyes looked through the window, scanning the prosperous city, silently on guard.

Minerva City is not only the hub of the western provinces but also the focal point of the factions' power play, and the Minerva Knight Academy he is about to enter is one of the core of this game.

Robin nodded, his gaze falling on the magnificent building ahead.

The Minerva Knight Academy sits on an open plaza, its towering walls and huge archway appearing especially solemn.

At the academy's entrance, a number of young knights had already gathered, standing or sitting, each with a different expression, clearly there for the entrance exam.

The carriage stopped at the academy's gate, and Robin and Zhang Bolun got off.

Robin adjusted his collar, his eyes calmly scanning the surrounding crowd.

Among these people were many gifted young knights; without a System Panel to aid them, they could not tell whether their talent was high or low.

At that moment, a faint perfume drifted in; Robin turned his head slightly and saw a beautiful young lady walking toward him.

She wore a deep‑purple long dress, its hem embroidered with golden patterns, looking noble and elegant.

A hint of playfulness twinkled in her eyes, the corners of her mouth lifted slightly, revealing a charming smile.

"Knight Allen, what a coincidence," the lady's voice carried a teasing tone, full of flirtatious meaning.

Robin's gaze cooled slightly, but his face remained calm: "Madam, have we met before?"

The young lady laughed lightly, her tone laced with mockery: "We did cross paths at the Harvest Festival banquet. How is it, Knight Allen, that you forget me so quickly?"

A flash of caution passed through Robin's eyes; he of course remembered this lady.

At the banquet, her appearance gave him a strong sense of unease, especially her power that could not be sensed, which made him wary.

"So it's you," Robin smiled faintly, his tone polite, "Beautiful lady, may I ask your name?"

The lady's gaze lingered on Robin for a moment, then she whispered, "I am Melinda Animan, a… ordinary noble of Minerva City."

Robin nodded, but inwardly sneered.

Ordinary noble?

Someone who can freely come and go in such a setting, whose strength cannot even be sensed, could hardly be an ordinary noble.

"Madam Melinda, are you also here for the academy's entrance exam?" Robin asked tentatively.

Melinda smiled, her tone hinting at mystery: "No, I just came… to watch the excitement. Knight Allen, you must perform well, I'm looking forward to your performance."

A chill flickered in Robin's eyes, yet his face stayed composed: "Thank you for your concern, madam, I will do my best."

Melinda's eyes showed a trace of satisfaction; she opened the hand‑fan in her hand, covering the lower half of her face, then whispered, "Knight Allen, if the chance arises, we could talk more. I am… very interested in you."

Robin smiled slightly, his tone courteous: "Madam, you are too kind. If the chance comes, I would be glad to converse with you."

Melinda nodded, then turned and left, leaving Robin standing still, a hint of deep thought flashing in his gaze.

"This woman… truly not simple," Robin murmured to himself, his heart on guard.

Melinda's appearance was far from accidental, and her purpose was certainly not pure.

Both her strength and her sickly gaze gave Robin a strong sense of unease.

Robin stood at the gate of the Minerva Knight Academy, watching Melinda's silhouette disappear into the crowd.

"Young Master Allen, that woman… not simple," Zhang Bolun said softly, his tone tinged with worry.

Robin nodded, a cold glint in his eyes: "I know. Her strength is unfathomable, and she clearly has designs on me. We must act cautiously."

Zhang Bolun solemnly nodded: "I will keep a constant eye on her movements, ensuring your safety."

Robin said nothing more, turning toward the academy's registration office.

A long queue had already formed at the registration office; Robin stood in the line, his eyes calmly scanning the surrounding crowd.

Tuoleisi Xiyasi, the young knight he had just defeated, stood not far away, his gaze cold and fixed on him.

Tuoleisi was an outstanding student of the Knight Academy, here today in the capacity of maintaining order.

When he saw Robin, a malicious glint flashed in his eyes.

"Allen Wilk Wolt… you dare come to the Knight Academy?" Tuoleisi muttered softly, his tone edged with anger and resentment.

He did not hesitate, turning and sprinting toward the interior of the academy.

Robin's gaze chilled slightly, a faint sense of helplessness rising within him.

Tuoleisi would not settle the matter peacefully, and his revenge would soon arrive.

"Zhang Bolun, we must be careful," Robin whispered to the man beside him, his tone laced with caution.

Zhang Bolun nodded, a trace of worry in his eyes: "Young Master Allen, Tuoleisi Xiyasi is an outstanding student of the Knight Academy and has many friends there. If he seeks revenge, we may run into trouble."

Robin sneered, his tone cold: "Trouble? I shall see what storm he can raise."
