Chapter 133: War

~6 min read 1,113 words

Luo Ang sneered, his tone tinged with contempt: "Think I won't be generous? Sona Ta, you're just using me. The Wizard Council gave me true power and a future, and you only bind me to your rules."

Before the words finished, Luo Ang suddenly swung his sword, a fierce Sword Qi rushing toward Sona Ta Marquis. The Marquis retreated quickly, but his personal guards couldn't dodge in time, instantly sliced in two by the Sword Qi, blood spraying out.

"Protect the Marquis!" Ai Lina shouted, rushing to Sona Ta Marquis's side, her dagger flashing coldly as she kept a wary eye on Luo Ang.

Although she is only a Knight Peak, when facing Great Knight Peak Luo Ang, she showed no fear.

At the same time, Robin's figure flashed from the shadows, his longbow drawn to full, an arrow aimed at Luo Ang's throat.

While commanding his troops to charge, Luo Ang's complexion suddenly changed; a Feather Arrow flew in from another direction, its speed almost invisible.

Fortunately, Luo Ang reacted even faster; a swing of his long sword split the arrow cleanly in two, the halves falling to the ground.

"Robin, be careful! His strength exceeds our expectations!" Ai Lina whispered, a hint of seriousness flashing in her eyes.

Robin gave no reply, but moved swiftly to a new position.

Meanwhile, the city garrison's mutiny instantly reversed the battlefield situation.

The city garrison that had originally come to reinforce now became a deadly threat to Sona Ta Marquis's side.

Sona Ta Marquis's personal guards fell back step by step under the city garrison's assault, suffering heavy casualties.

"Marquis, we must retreat!" a blood‑soaked guard rushed to Sona Ta Marquis's side, his voice urgent.

Sona Ta Marquis's face turned ashen, a trace of unwillingness flashing in his eyes.

If they kept fighting head‑on, they'd be annihilated.

Retreat would mean handing over control of Ao Bei Di City to the Wizard Council, something he could never accept.

"We can't retreat!" Sona Ta Marquis gritted his teeth, "Ao Bei Di City must never fall into the Wizard Council's hands!"

"But Marquis, if we continue like this, we'll all die here!" the guard's voice was desperate.

At that moment, Robin's voice rang out: "Marquis, I have a plan!"

Sona Ta Marquis turned to Robin, a glimmer of hope in his eyes: "What plan?"

Robin's gaze was cold as he whispered, "I'll hold Luo Ang back; you make a break for it. As long as we get out of here, we can regroup!"

"No! Luo Ang's power is too great; you alone can't match him!" Ai Lina immediately protested, her tone urgent.

Robin shook his head, his eyes firm: "It's the only way. Trust me, I won't die easily."

Sona Ta Marquis was silent for a moment, then finally nodded: "Fine, Ai Lun, you must be careful!"

Robin said nothing more, but swiftly drew his longbow to full, an arrow flying straight at Luo Ang.

At the same time, his figure darted around, trying to draw Luo Ang's attention.

As long as no one else was present, he need not conceal his strength; Robin was fully confident he could slay a Great Knight Peak.

In Robin's eyes now, any knight beneath the Legendary tier—whether Great Knight Peak or a Knight apprentice—

were all one‑arrow prey.

Seeing Sona Ta Marquis attempt to break out, Luo Ang immediately led men to block him; Feather Arrows kept raining, the city garrison soldiers at the gate fell one after another, allowing the Marquis to break through.

This infuriated Luo Ang; just as he turned to chase that mouse, a Feather Arrow flew toward his face.

"How is that possible? Why didn't I notice anything!"

The Feather Arrow, only a breath away, hit Luo Ang's brow the instant he formed the thought, sending him to stagger backward.

He could never understand why, as a Great Knight Peak with a keen sense of danger, he only noticed the Feather Arrow when it was already upon him.

Meanwhile, Sona Ta Marquis and Ai Lina led the remaining personal guards in a swift breakout.

Although the mutinous city garrison numbered heavily, under Sona Ta Marquis's command they still found a way out.

"Run!" Sona Ta Marquis shouted loudly, leading everyone toward the manor's back door.

However, just as they were about to burst out of the manor, a black figure suddenly blocked their path.

It was Kres!

"Sona Ta Marquis, you think you can escape?" Kres's voice carried a hint of mockery; with a light wave of his staff, a black energy wave surged toward the Marquis.

Ai Lina quickly stepped in front of Sona Ta Marquis, swinging her dagger fiercely to block Kres's attack. Yet her strength paled against his; the black energy wave knocked her back several steps, a trickle of blood spilling from her mouth.

"Ai Lina!" Sona Ta Marquis exclaimed, a hint of worry flashing in his eyes.

Kres sneered, raising his staff again: "It's over, Sona."

At that critical moment, a figure burst out from the side, a blade lunging straight at Kres's chest!

Kres reacted instantly, swinging his staff to conjure a black shield that sprang up before him.

Bang!

The Tang Sword hammered the shield, producing a heavy, muffled thud.

Though Kres's shield remained intact, his body was knocked back several steps, a flash of surprise in his eyes.

"Ai Lun?!" Ai Lina gasped, a spark of delight in her eyes.

Robin's figure stood before Sona Ta Marquis and Ai Lina, his cold gaze fixed on Kres: "Kres, your opponent is me."

Kres sneered, his tone disdainful: "Just you? A kid not even a Legendary Knight, daring to challenge me?"

Robin gave no reply, but swiftly drew an ancient Rune from his coat; it glimmered faintly—it was the Banishment Hand!

Kres's expression hardened instantly: "Banishment Hand? How do you have such a thing!"

Robin said nothing, quickly activating the Rune; an invisible energy field instantly enveloped Kres.

Under the Banishment Hand's effect, Kres's magical shield shattered rapidly, his complexion turning pale.

"Now, can your magic still protect you?" Robin said coldly, his fist swinging again toward Kres's chest.

A flash of panic crossed Kres's eyes; he retreated quickly, trying to widen the gap with Robin.

Robin moved at blinding speed, the Tang Sword flashing like lightning as he slashed dozens of times.

Forced back by Robin's onslaught, Kres glanced at three other subordinates; they were already entangled by two Legendary Knights, Lei En.

As for the other three First Ring Wizard subordinates, they hadn't appeared yet, making him realize something was amiss.

On the Knight Academy side, there are still strong individuals who haven't appeared.
