Chapter 16
In the Hidden Sand Village, when they saw that their own village's juniors had died upon meeting again.
The people of the Hidden Sand Village were filled with righteous indignation.
"What is going on! Is this how Konoha handles its security measures!"
"Where is Lord Kazekage! Why did he let Konoha personnel strengthen the security!"
"What does Konoha intend to do! Was this intentional!"
"Has Lord Kazekage not yet arrived in Konoha? Why has he not come out to intervene!"
Just as everyone was discussing the matter.
The three members from the Hidden Mist Village at the scene looked at the corpses covering the ground, so shocked they were completely speechless.
Logically speaking, the Chunin Exams are a contest of individual ability, where life and death are one's own responsibility.
But generally, no one kills; usually, fights stop once a point is made.
Why, right before their eyes, were there now so many corpses?
Could it be that they all killed each other in a mutual destruction?
But what is this statue? Why is there so much blood on its body?
After confirming that there were no survivors present, the three exchanged glances.
Glancing at the corpses on the ground, Oboro spoke to the other two:
"What should we do about this?"
Kagari gently shook his head, frowning as he swept his gaze over the nine corpses lying on the ground.
"It's unclear; according to the rules, killing is permitted, but generally, fights stop once a point is made and do not result in such an extreme outcome."
Pausing briefly, he glanced again at the statue that seemed to be moving slightly in their direction.
"Moreover, haven't you noticed that this statue seems to be moving toward us?"
After Kagari finished speaking, all three simultaneously turned their gaze toward the statue behind him.
Watching the statue draw closer, Kagari pointed at it, his eyes widening:
"Look! It really is slowly moving toward me!"
However, Oboro and Mubi felt nothing at all, merely thinking that Kagari was too nervous.
"No? Relax; perhaps you are just too tense."
Facing his teammates' comfort, Kagari's brows remained tightly furrowed.
He clearly saw the sculpture getting closer to him; why did they feel nothing?
Could it be that he was truly too nervous?
Shaking their heads, the three decided to take all the scrolls from these three teams.
At that moment, seeing that all three had their backs turned to the sculpture, the spectators outside gasped in unison.
"Hiss~ You fools! Don't turn your backs on the sculpture!"
"Watch the sculpture, keep your eyes on the sculpture!"
"It's over; these three brothers are definitely done for, without any hope left."
"Heavens! Three great masters, please have someone keep watch over this little peanut! Even for a moment would suffice!"
