After hearing Lin Siyuan's report, General Commander Wang Tao stood up from his chair all at once:

"What did you say? The target has fled to Mount Everest?"

"That's correct... General Commander, what should we do now?"

At this moment, Wang Tao was also at a loss.

If he hadn't heard Lin Siyuan's report with his own ears, he never would have dreamed that Chu Chen would take such an extreme action!

Fleeing to Mount Everest?

How is this any different from seeking death?

"How are those cultural relics doing now?" Wang Tao asked.

"The relics are safe for the time being; they are neither damaged nor lost, but we don't dare to approach them yet, fearing he might do something extreme."

Upon hearing this, the heavy stone in Wang Tao's heart finally fell, and he couldn't help but let out a long sigh.

Just a moment ago, he had received orders from headquarters to ensure the safety of those cultural relics at all costs.

As for that Chu Chen, if he insisted on seeking death, even if the entire Armed Police General Corps were mobilized, they wouldn't be able to stop him.

"Stop worrying about him for now. The First Squadron and the Third Squadron are already on their way to your location. Remember, you must, absolutely must, recover those cultural relics; there cannot be any mistakes."

"I understand, Commander Wang!"

"If there are any developments, you must report to me immediately!"

"Yes!"

After ending the call with Chen Ming, Wang Tao's heart had only just settled when the phone in his office rang again!

Hearing the sound, he hurriedly picked up the receiver: "Hello!"

The next second, when he heard the voice of an old man from the other end of the line, his entire body instantly straightened, and he said: "General Director, what are your instructions?"

"How is that case going?" the old man asked over the phone, his voice full of vigor.

"I have just dispatched three squadrons over there. The cultural relics are not lost and are all safe."

"I am not talking about the cultural relics; I am talking about that Chu Chen. How is he?"

Wang Tao was stunned by the old man's question and had no idea how to answer.

The next second, the old man continued:

"I just received news from the Southeast. They have instructed us to ensure the safety of that young man during the operation at all costs. No matter what, he must stay alive. If necessary, the cultural relics can be abandoned!"

This statement from the old man left Wang Tao dizzy and completely bewildered: "General Director, this is?"

"Answer me first, where is he right now?"

"He is currently fleeing in the direction of Mount Everest!"

Upon hearing Wang Tao's answer, the old man on the other end of the line remained silent for a long time.

It was a long while before he continued:

"Wang Tao, listen to me. If something really happens to this young man, we might all have to take responsibility for it. I don't care what method you use, you must bring him back alive. Do you understand what I mean?"

"I... I understand..."

"In that case, you are to lead the team to the scene immediately. Report any developments to me at any time!"

"Yes!"

To be honest, even now, Wang Tao was still confused; he had no idea what was actually going on!

However, no matter how puzzled he was, as long as the higher-ups issued an order, as the General Commander, he had to execute it.

Meanwhile!

The situation was far from limited to just the Armed Police General Corps; the relevant leaders of the Stationed Troops had also received the exact same instructions!

In an instant, both departments were like gunpowder barrels that had been ignited, becoming busy and tense once again. Under the leadership of their respective commanders, they all mobilized, dispatching and assembling troops toward Mount Everest without a moment's delay!

They were all contestants in the same competition, yet the gap was just too huge!
