Chapter 46: The Attention of a Special Department!

At the same time!

Yanjing!

Southeast Sea!

Inside the conference hall of a certain special department!

At this moment, on the large screen inside the conference hall, a video of Chu Chen climbing Mount Everest is playing!

Around the conference table below the large screen, many old men dressed in military uniforms and Zhongshan suits are seated!

Among them, sitting in the main seat is a white-haired old man wearing the Three Stars One Leaf insignia.

Beside him is a middle-aged man wearing gold-rimmed glasses!

After the video finished playing, the middle-aged man with gold-rimmed glasses addressed the various powerful figures in attendance:

"Officers, let me first briefly introduce the basic situation of this person. His name is Chu Chen, he is only nineteen years old this year, and he is No. 99 Contestant in the recently viral variety show 'Simulated Crime'. He has no parents and his background is very clean."

"Not long ago, he robbed the Hua Mo Bank in Mexico of 400 million Huaxia Yuan and distributed it to the poor in the slums. This morning, he robbed the Everest Museum of ancient Tibetan artifacts worth ten billion. To evade capture, he is currently fleeing toward the summit of Mount Everest!"

After the middle-aged man finished speaking, the white-haired old man with the Three Stars One Leaf insignia spoke with a complex expression:

"I heard he is currently completing a challenge regarding extreme sports? What is it called, the Extreme Eight Items?"

"Yes, what he is currently undertaking is the second challenge of the Extreme Eight Items!"

The old man nodded, his expression becoming even more complex.

Looking at his appearance, he seemed to be brewing something!

At this moment, the entire conference room was very quiet, with only the buzzing sound emitted by the projector still clearly audible.

After a while, the white-haired old man sighed and then said: "The higher-ups attach great importance to his challenge of Mount Everest. Just now, I have personally communicated with all relevant departments, telling them to mind the scale, and if necessary, they can even provide him with certain conveniences."

"As for this program, the intention of the higher-ups is for it to continue, and they have ordered us to keep track of Chu Chen's movements at all times and effectively protect his personal safety. No matter how outrageous his actions in the program are, do not intervene..."

After the white-haired old man finished speaking, he looked at a cold-faced middle-aged man to his right: "This mission... Lv, it should still be left to your Shadow Unit."

Receiving the order.

The cold-faced middle-aged man nodded, and then immediately said in a deep voice:

"Understood, Chief. After the meeting, I will arrange it immediately!"

The next second.

The white-haired old man shifted his gaze to a bald old man and continued:

"Liu, how is the handling of the 400 million he robbed in Mexico last time going?"

"It is almost handled. As far as I know, China Central Television and Hua Mo Bank have reached an agreement regarding the relevant compensation matters. Furthermore, the Ministry of Finance has already approved the relevant reparations. I handled this matter personally."

The white-haired old man nodded and said: "What is the word from Mexico now?"

"The Mexican side has also sent people to negotiate, but there is still some public opinion influence that has not been completely eliminated. However, there shouldn't be any problems, and it certainly won't affect diplomacy. I specifically instructed the person in charge of the negotiations on this point, so you can rest assured."

"That is good. You have all worked hard during this time."

The bald old man smiled, sighed helplessly, and said:

"It's not that it's hard work, but we have indeed been tossed around enough by this kid. You might not know, but his fame now is boundless. I went to check, and on those foreign video websites, his videos are everywhere! And his Extreme Eight Items!"

The bald old man was right!

During this time, the name Chu Chen has indeed had a very high appearance rate on some foreign websites!

Like Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, and so on—just flip through them, and you can see clips of him robbing the cash-in-transit vehicle. The traffic is extremely high, and it's unstoppable!

Right now, because the Mount Everest challenge has begun.

More and more people are paying attention to this matter!

And through their attention to Chu Chen, many people have also noticed the program "Simulated Crime"!

However, because the foreign websites have not yet opened live streaming permissions, they can only watch the replay videos uploaded by domestic netizens.

But even so, the popularity remains undiminished!

Almost every uploaded video has over 100 million likes and comments!

In addition, during this time, the number of followers on the official YouTube account for "Simulated Crime" has been surging, jumping from a few hundred fans when the program first started to 1 billion now, and it is still continuously rising!

Regarding this matter, the white-haired old man also knows.

Upon first hearing about this, this old man who had spent his life in the military was also deeply shocked!

If he hadn't seen the relevant videos, he really wouldn't have dared to believe that these things could be the work of a young man!

In the videos, the courage, boldness, intelligence, execution, and imagination displayed by Chu Chen have completely exceeded the white-haired old man's imagination, making him sigh incessantly that the waves of the Yangtze River push the ones in front!

From then on, whenever he thinks of Chu Chen, his mood is very complex!

There is excitement, there is worry, and even some lingering fear!

The excitement is that he is a rare criminal genius.

The worry is that he will have an accident during the program!

The lingering fear is that if he were a real criminal, he would certainly be a big problem that could not be dealt with!

By then, let alone Huaxia, perhaps the entire world and the entire history of humanity would have to pay the price for his willfulness and every move!

Take this Extreme Eight Items, for example.

If such a crime were to actually happen, he believes the relevant emergency departments would certainly be flustered and at a loss!

The next second!

After pondering for a while, the white-haired old man continued to muse:

"I know about this matter. When I first learned of it, I was also very shocked. If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes, it would be very hard to believe that a young man of only nineteen would perform such earth-shattering deeds..."

Hearing this, the bald old man echoed:

"Yes, with him doing this, it has caused people outside to say that our program is not fighting crime, but rather promoting it. Regarding this point, the relevant leaders at China Central Television are also quite helpless. Previously, they limited the Expert Group to solving the case within a month to eliminate the influence, which put quite a bit of pressure on those criminal investigation experts!"

"That is precisely why we need to coordinate."

"Mm, in a moment I will convey this intent from above to the relevant departments below and have them pass it down."

The white-haired elder nodded, then turned to face the crowd and said:

"Except for Liu and Lv, the rest of you departments must also work harder; handle the logistics and public opinion control well. If you encounter any problems, you must contact me immediately. Especially during the time he is climbing Mount Everest, regardless of whether he succeeds or fails, you must keep your eyes wide open for me. I will not repeat the importance of this matter; you all know it in your hearts!"

"Understood!"
