Chapter 1150: Dense Insect Swarm

If even a Di Zun First Rank's shadow can be taken down, the ambush here must be extremely dangerous!

"Probably because the canyon is longer, let's wait a bit longer!"

As soon as Ye Liuyun finished speaking, he felt the Slave Seals of those ferocious beasts disappearing one after another.

"Bad! Something really went wrong inside. The ferocious beast died!"

Soon after, a Black Shadow darted out of the canyon.

The Black Shadow ran all the way to Ye Liuyun's front before collapsing.

"Shadow!"

Ye Liuyun instantly recognized that the person was a Shadow.

"What did you encounter?" Ye Liuyun asked anxiously.

But the Shadow only passed a bit of information to Ye Liuyun, then immediately spat white foam and fell dead.

It seems he also ran back holding his last breath just to deliver the news to Ye Liuyun.

"A massive swarm of flying insects..."

That was the final message the Shadow left him.

After Ye Liuyun told Zhu Youfu, the two exchanged glances, their eyes full of worry.

Ye Liuyun activated his Golden Pupil, carefully scanned the Shadow, and discovered that not only did his body surface bear numerous mosquito bite marks, but his interior was also densely filled with living flying insects. The sight gave Ye Liuyun goosebumps all over.

"No wonder the Shadow was discovered. If he entered an area dense with flying insects, he truly couldn't conceal his form."

Ye Liuyun thought to himself that the insects probably entered his body through his mouth, nose, and other openings.

Now those insects were still gnawing his flesh, blood, and organs.

Ye Liuyun dared not delay; he used Golden Crow Holy Fire to incinerate the Shadow and those insects together completely.

Ye Liuyun continued explaining to Zhu Youfu: "A huge number of insects have entered his body; his organs are about to be completely devoured."

Hearing this, Zhu Youfu was startled into a sudden shiver.

"How many insects would it take to breach a Martial Cultivator of Earth Sovereign Realm's True Essence Body Shield? These bugs look really formidable!"

He immediately suggested taking a detour.

"No need, I have a way to deal with those insects; just follow me confidently!"

Ye Liuyun sheathed the Azure Wind Wolf and simultaneously ordered the fire‑attribute ferocious beasts to prepare for burning the insects.

Zhu Youfu also reined in his mount, but still asked Ye Liuyun with some worry: "Are you sure there's no problem?"

"Hmm, should be fine!"

Ye Liuyun didn't close the matter; he also didn't know whether any mishap might occur.

"Probably..."

Zhu Youfu sighed that his fate was miserable, feeling that Ye Liuyun loved adventure too much.

"Don't worry, you won't die!" Ye Liuyun smiled, then led Zhu Youfu straight into the canyon.

At first, the canyon was silent, not a single sound.

Moreover, this canyon was unusual; it seemed to exert a pressure that restricted Martial Cultivators from soaring. They could only walk step by step.

But as they kept moving forward, the Divine Senses of Ye Liuyun and Zhu Youfu both detected scattered flying insects buzzing around them.

"I guess those ferocious beasts and the Shadow ignored these insects! These insects must be scouts from the insect swarm! By the time they notice, they'd already be surrounded by a massive horde of bugs!"

Ye Liuyun chatted with Zhu Youfu while continuously using Golden Crow Holy Fire to incinerate every insect he saw.

Had the Shadow not warned them in advance, they wouldn't have paid attention to these insects.

These insects varied in species and size; some were poisonous, some had hard shells, flying in the air or crawling on rocky ground, making them practically impossible to guard against.

Because they were too numerous and scattered, Ye Liuyun released fire‑attribute ferocious beasts to handle them.

The farther they went, the more insects appeared. In the end, they had to let the ferocious beasts raise a flame shield, enclosing them within.

"Your method is just a flame shield? It's workable now, but if the insects increase, it probably won't hold!"

Zhu Youfu, seeing Ye Liuyun use Zao Hua Realm ferocious beasts to raise the flame shield, thought it somewhat unreliable.

Even a Earth Sovereign Realm strongman like the Shadow can't have his shield stop the insects.

Even if their shield has fire attribute, it likely still can't block them.

"Why the hurry! The insects are few now; this method is perfect!"

Ye Liuyun ignored his doubts and kept moving forward without stopping.

"Buzz, buzz..."

Not long after they kept walking, the canyon echoed with the buzzing of an insect swarm.

"Here they come, the insect swarm is coming!" Zhu Youfu shouted in alarm.

"Hmm, it's time for us to act!"

Ye Liuyun also felt the surrounding insects beginning to assault their flame shield.

So Ye Liuyun brandished a Hundred-Refined Soul Banner, and countless Yin Souls surged out of it.

"Eradicate all these insects!"

At Ye Liuyun's command, the Yin Souls rushed toward the distant incoming insect swarm.

The distant insect swarm formed a dark, hazy mass, like a black mist net, rolling toward them.

On Ye Liuyun's side, tens of thousands of poisonous insect Yin Soul troops led the vanguard, followed by the main Yin Soul army, charging at the insects, their Soul dedicated to killing them.

A gust of Yin wind rose, and in an instant the canyon rang with the howls of Yin Souls.

The insect swarm was already terrifying, and the Yin Soul army released by Ye Liuyun made Zhu Youfu's legs go weak with fear.

He kept muttering, "My god! Tens of thousands of Yin Souls! So terrifying, so terrifying!"

Ye Liuyun's actions never ceased; he continuously released fire‑attribute ferocious beasts, letting them pour the flame's power into the shield.

It wasn't until the protective shield expanded enough to scorch the rock walls on both sides that Ye Liuyun began to push forward.

Most of the flying insects were burned to death before they could use their sharp teeth to break through the protective shield.

Where Ye Liuyun's flame protective shield passed, not a single insect remained.

To deal with the insects in the air, he released Su Miaoyin.

Su Miaoyin possesses a Divine Rank treasure: an oil lamp that can emit a great amount of flame.

And it doesn't require her to input True Essence; it can be powered with a Spirit Stone.

So Ye Liuyun handed the sky's defense to Su Miaoyin. Su Miaoyin then used that Divine Rank oil lamp to set ablaze several meters of space above.

Even the occasional flying insect on either side of the rocks that escaped the flames was essentially roasted to death by the high temperature.

These insects are of low cultivation, only numerous.

Ye Liuyun and his group advanced within the fireball, completely safe.

The Yin Souls' battle also proceeded smoothly. High‑level blood‑colored bats could pierce the swarm of insects and annihilate countless insects' Souls.

The flying insects have no effective means against these Yin Souls; their attacks cannot harm these incorporeal Yin Souls at all.
