Chapter 2854: Time Reversal

At this moment Ye Liuyun had just retrieved Xiao Lanbing, while his clone was defending Qiong Qi from the attack; by the time they noticed the Black Shadow, it was already too late.

The Black Shadow turned out to be a higher‑realm demon bat, also highly proficient in Spatial Power, and its chance to strike coincided exactly with the moment the Hunting Falcon turned.

Ye Liuyun and the others were too late to intervene, watching the Black Shadow surge out of the Hunting Falcon's body and smash the Falcon to pieces.

"Ah!" Ye Liuyun shouted in alarm and immediately employed Time Power.

This time he didn't freeze time; he reversed it, sending time back to before the Hunting Falcon was killed, pulling the Falcon back in advance.

It was Ye Liuyun's first use of time reversal, and he didn't know how effective it would be.

Nevertheless, the process went smoothly; everything rewound quickly to the moment before the Hunting Falcon was slain. Yet at that point Ye Liuyun realized the Black Shadow was actually a Sevenfold Sovereign demon bat, and it was now targeting Xiao Lanbing.

"Damn demon bat!" Ye Liuyun cursed, but his time‑reversal power was exhausted, so he could only have his clone continue.

As his Time Power withdrew, the clone immediately took over, reversing time again to pull Xiao Lanbing and the Hunting Falcon into the Space World, then using the Technique to completely melt the descending Sixfold Sovereign demon bat before retreating.

Ye Liuyun instantly released the Magic Vine, extending its tendrils to shield everyone.

At this moment, the Sevenfold Sovereign demon bat that had intended to kill Xiao Lanbing and the Hunting Falcon suddenly lost its target. Though puzzled, it had no time to hesitate and immediately locked onto Li Xinran.

It recognized those people as weaker, but instead of striking immediately, it ordered other demon bats to focus on the circle around Li Xinran, creating a chance for a killing blow.

"Nine-Head Demon Dragon, use the Technique to kill it!" Ye Liuyun commanded, locking onto the demon bat and sending the Nine-Head Demon Dragon to strike first.

"Roar!"

The Nine-Head Demon Dragon let out a massive roar; its soul‑shaking wave knocked down a swarm of demon bats that were shielding it, then it surged skyward, charging at the demon bat.

The demon bat, seeing the Nine-Head Demon Dragon as lower in realm, immediately prepared to attack it, sending several nearby demon bats rushing toward the Nine-Head Demon Dragon.

Before they could act, the Nine-Head Demon Dragon swept a Technique across, cleaving the Sevenfold Sovereign demon bat—and the others—into two halves.

After those high‑realm demon bats were slain, the remaining bats, leaderless, charged chaotically, many were killed, and they gradually withdrew.

At this point the clone finally released the Hunting Falcon and Xiao Lanbing. Neither of them knew what had happened; they only knew the clone had gathered them.

"The power of time reversal truly is wondrous!" Ye Liuyun thought, feeling that without it the Hunting Falcon would have been dead, and without his clone Xiao Lanbing would have perished.

Ye Liuyun immediately instructed the two, telling them never to adventure again, then urged everyone to seize the time to cultivate and recover, lest the demon bats attack again.

However, until Qiong Qi broke the final Formation, the demon bats made no further attacks, quietly coiled within the Cave, not even a rustle.

Once the Formation shattered, Ye Liuyun's Golden Pupil immediately saw inside. All these Cave entrances ultimately led to a massive cavern; it seemed the demon bats had hollowed out the entire mountain.

Inside were tens of thousands of demon bats, densely covering the walls. The Bat King was a Sevenfold Sovereign demon bat, currently soaking in a blood pool, its head protruding, vigilant of the outside of the Cave.

In the blood pool floated a solid blood sphere, seemingly linked to Bloodline Power.

"Nothing special about that!" Ye Liuyun said, a bit disappointed, feeling the Cave held no great treasure. They now had Chi Lian, so they weren't lacking Bloodline Power.

"The blood pool's water has strong energy fluctuations," Long Nv's black pupil observed and told Ye Liuyun.

"Your black pupil can see energy fluctuations?" Ye Li asked Long Nv.

"Yes, I only just discovered this ability!" Long Nv had only recently refined the black pupil and was still unfamiliar with it. Yet she could not only see through the mountain walls but also perceive energy fluctuations.

She was only unsure whether the fluctuations were from Bloodline Power or some other energy.

Ye Liuyun, his clone, Lei Ming and Hei Hu's Golden Pupils now could only see through obstacles and perceive souls; nothing else was visible.

"Then let's go inside and take a look!" Ye Liuyun thought, planning to have Long Nv verify; perhaps with more identification she could distinguish the type of energy fluctuation.

And after fighting for so long, they couldn't return empty‑handed.

He first summoned Chi Lian, asking if she could absorb the demon bats' Bloodline Power.

"I can absorb, but the Demon Qi in their Bloodline is too dense; even if I absorb it, I must immediately transfer it out, it can't linger in my body!" Chi Lian told Ye Liuyun.

Ye Liuyun thought for a moment, then sent Lei Ming and the Nine-Head Demon Dragon over.

They were both gathering the demon bats' beast cores for future cultivation; the beast cores of Demon Beasts suited them perfectly.

He instructed Lei Ming and the Nine-Head Demon Dragon: "You both guard Chi Lian, let her absorb Bloodline Power, then immediately transfer it to you. Lei Ming uses Thunder and Lightning Power for defense, the Nine-Head Demon Dragon uses poison smoke and Black and White Light to kill."

However, after the arrangement, he still didn't trust Lei Ming and the Nine-Head Demon Dragon, so he had his clone take Chi Lian, with Lei Ming and the Nine-Head Demon Dragon following.

Ye Liuyun himself led Zhu Que and Li Xinran, while the others were pulled into the Space World. He and his clone split into two teams, entering the Cave from different openings.

The Magic Vine and Hei Hu stayed behind to guard Qiong Qi, setting Formations at the other entrances to seal the demon bats inside, preventing any escape.

Except for Chi Lian, the other Monster Beasts had taken human form for easier entry. Li Xinran then realized these ferocious beasts were actually Monster Beasts.

She was endlessly curious, constantly questioning Ye Liuyun. Irritated by her queries, Ye Liuyun told her he possessed a Shape‑Changing Pill.

"Then help me capture a powerful ferocious beast this time; I want to raise a Monster Beast. I feel the guards around me are less reliable than a beast!" Li Xinran pleaded.

"No problem, just tell me which beast you favor! If none are suitable here, I have other beasts in the Space World and can find one for you!"

Ye Liuyun readily agreed; for him, it was all a piece of cake.

Along the way, Ye Liuyun and Li Xinran moved with ease; Zhu Que's Fire Flame Power sealed the Cave, pushing them straight in, and any demon bats daring to block them were instantly reduced to ash, requiring no action from Ye Liuyun.
