Chapter 132: The Storm is Coming
The magic wolf Antigonus from the Night Kingdom arrived in the turbulent Real World.
But as various conflicts gradually reached their climax, even a Sequence 1 Angel could no longer exert a decisive influence on the state of the war.
When Antigonus first arrived at the capital of the Solomon Kingdom, he was truly shocked by the development of human civilization.
In the era when his Father God was still present, humanity was still in its most primitive stage, and it was difficult to see even a few Beyonders.
But by the era of the Creator, human civilization was developing at an unimaginable speed, and everything he saw now left Antigonus somewhat distracted.
The Night Kingdom was, after all, too remote, its population too small, and its contact with the outside world was controlled within a certain range by two Angels; today, even the basic ironware of this era had not yet become widespread.
"Greetings, are you Mr. Antigonus?" An old man wearing white divine robes approached silently.
It was Hermes; it was naturally impossible for him to stay in that nearly sealed Fantasy Land.
He managed all the Dream believers in the North and South Continents, exercising the power of a Pope, but Hermes did not covet these things; upon learning that Chumen had arrived at the Solomon capital, he followed him here.
Antigonus's eyes instantly turned a dark, gloomy color as he looked at Hermes, the coarse black wolf fur on his face standing slightly on end.
This was merely the subconscious reaction of a magic wolf encountering danger.
"The Supreme Dream prophesied your arrival, letting me come here to wait for your appearance." A look of supreme reverence for the Supreme Dream was on Hermes's face.
After entering the New Era, all Dream believers on this planet had changed their form of address for Dream, and their prayers were the same as those of the Starry Sky Kin.
"Dream Lord" and "Supreme Dream" were Chumen's latest honorific names.
"Dream?" Antigonus was in a trance for a moment; when he was sheltering the Hornacis Mountain Range, Dream was still just a Dream Angel.
"Please follow me." Hermes led the way in front.
Antigonus hesitated for a moment, then followed; he was already very familiar with the Dream Phosphor on Hermes's body.
"Long time no see, Antigonus." Chumen met this little wolf who had just come down from the mountain in the castle's reception hall.
"Dream Crown." Antigonus performed a courtesy commonly used by Solomon people.
Chumen nodded lightly, "Do you want to exchange back for that 'Fool Mask'?"
"Yes!" Antigonus answered with a serious face.
"You may; this is also something I promised you." Chumen currently had no need for the "Fool" mask.
"But you should know what you will have to face after you take this thing back." There was a warning tone in Chumen's voice.
"I already have His whispers in my ears." Antigonus was expressionless, as if he were speaking of a stranger.
"Hmm?" Chumen's gaze fell on Antigonus, seemingly seeing the whispers constantly echoing within his body.
That was a power he was very familiar with.
The "Fool" Pathway was indeed the private territory of the "Lord of the Mysteries"; compared to "Door" and "Error," the "Lord of the Mysteries" revival crisis that this pathway had to bear was far greater.
Basically, once one became an "Attendant of Mysteries," one had to face the threat of that person directly.
"Once you fuse with that mask, you will uncontrollably head toward losing control if you take another step forward." Chumen made a prophecy regarding Antigonus's condition.
"..." Antigonus's brows knitted together, but his resolve remained unchanged.
"Can you tell me your reason? That way the price you pay might be smaller." Chumen did not use "Imagination" to pry, but asked out of curiosity.
Life must always retain some desire for exploration.
"..." The hard lines on Antigonus's face softened slightly, and he looked toward the direction of the Hornacis Mountain Range, "I want to protect my home."
That period of time in the Hornacis Mountain Range was the best time in Antigonus's wolf life, making him seem to forget all the disturbances and dangers of the outside world, and he had obtained the first peace since his birth.
"My promise remains valid; Hornacis will not be disturbed by anyone."
"It's just that..." Antigonus turned his head to look at Chumen, his pair of dark, gloomy eyes appearing slightly complex.
He reached out and pointed to his own head, "What I need to face is only Him, but what you face will be countless times more dangerous than mine."
"That battle where you killed the Creator... my Historical Projection saw it from afar; what you face is too much and too difficult."
Er... Chumen did not expect to hear such an answer and was silent for a moment.
"That's true, pinning all hope on others is the most foolish choice." Chumen came back to his senses, nodded in agreement, and casually tossed the "Fool" mask to Antigonus.
"Then what price do I need to pay?" Antigonus took the "Fool" mask, which had excellent compatibility with him and a strong attraction to him, into his hands and asked Chumen.
"Ah, this..." Chumen was actually stumped for a moment, then his eyes lit up, "Become my Angel and fight for me."
If the Mysterious Three Paths all became my students or Angels, wouldn't that be equivalent to the "Lord of the Mysteries" becoming my Angel?
"I won't lock you up completely either; the starting and ending times are the establishment and destruction of the Solomon Empire."
"It is my honor to be able to become an Angel of the Supreme Dream." Antigonus knelt on one knee before Chumen and lowered his head.
"Very good," Chumen flicked his finger lightly, and a Dream Mark landed on the back of Antigonus's hand, "Becoming my Angel means you can receive corresponding benefits."
"This mark cannot help you resist that will, but it can make your daily life a little more comfortable, so you don't have to passively listen to those annoying whispers."
Antigonus looked at the mark on the back of his hand in shock; this completely overturned his understanding of Sequences, Pathways, and Potions.
"Hermes will take you to understand the specific details." Chumen let Hermes take the bewildered Antigonus away from the Duke's castle to throw himself into the war of founding the nation.
"Solomon Empire..." Antigonus's arrival could only be counted as a small interlude; what truly concerned Chumen was the ritual for becoming a god on Solomon's side.
"There is still one final large-scale sacrificial ritual missing; they should be unable to sit still."
If the Black Emperor became a god and the Solomon Empire was completely established, then even ignoring Chumen as an unstable factor, the True Creator's faction would be strong enough; unless the True Gods united, it would be absolutely impossible to contend with them.
And the current situation was that the "God of Knowledge and Wisdom" and the "Storm Lord" were hostile to each other, yet they were also cooperating to resist the "Eternal Blazing Sun," which had been developing quietly, and they were also eyeing the True Creator covetously.
And the "God of War" and the "Evernight Goddess" had already started a Holy War; apart from the gods not descending, all other Angels had been deployed.
The "Mother Goddess of Earth" was relatively transcendent, spreading the radiance of life across the North and South Continents, but she was clearly leaning toward the "God of War."
"The Storm is coming; eh, I'm not talking about you, Leodero..."
