Chapter 441: Descendant of the God of Death
Klein shook his head slightly, no longer thinking about those unlucky matters.
He reached out and grabbed at the air a few times, his mind simultaneously recalling the "Concealment" used by the "Hidden Angel" during the struggle for the "Order Scepter."
After trying a few times, Klein finally reproduced the ability from that time; a faint, misty ball of light appeared in Klein's hand.
"The 'Fool' indeed possesses a portion of the Hidden Authority," Klein felt a certain familiar sensation, "This makes me have no obstacles in using 'Concealment'."
That mass of mist gradually spread out, enveloping Klein's body.
At this moment, Klein became even more unpredictable in fate and substance, existing in a semi-concealed state.
"At the very least, this way I don't have to worry about being blocked by Zaratul at any moment." Klein would not collide head-on with Zaratul before being prepared to face at least two Angel-level combatants.
"However, the mission here..." Klein thought again of the mission the "Hidden Angel" had given him.
"Making more preparations is never wrong."
This was Klein's first time coming to West Balam.
This place was the orthodoxy of the Balam Empire, the kingdom ruled by the Aegis Family.
Klein arrived at this city, which was said to be built according to the specifications of the Balam Imperial Palace, and felt a thick style of the God of Death.
The "carriages" on the main street were coffins, inside which one person could just happen to lie down; the houses on both sides of the street all had round, protruding roofs, like primitive tombs; even the signboards looked like tombstones...
"Will people living in such a depressing city really not develop psychological problems?" Klein pressed the silk top hat on his head, his expression serious, and arrived in front of a villa with a less intense Balam-style atmosphere.
"Hello, I am Klein Moretti, a student of Mr. Azik. I have come to West Balam today specifically to visit my teacher." Klein explained his purpose to the attendant.
"Please, come in!"
Klein walked into the villa where Mr. Azik was temporarily staying.
Ever since Azik appeared in the identity of a "Death Consul," he had remained in the Southern Continent and had not returned to Tingen.
"Klein? Why did you come?" Azik Eggers, wearing a casual white shirt and black trousers, looked at Klein, who was walking into the reception hall, in surprise.
"Mr. Azik, long time no see." Klein revealed a sincere smile.
The teacher and student naturally exchanged pleasantries, and during the process, they even talked about the history they both loved.
As an "Ancient Scholar," Klein was finally able to communicate with this living "history book."
"Your progress makes me marvel. Even after walking onto a different path, you still haven't abandoned your passion for history," Azik exclaimed.
"But I must also remind you of one thing." Azik's expression turned solemn, "Always maintain awe."
"Yes." Klein nodded heavily.
"Alright, what matter did you come to find me for?" Azik nodded slightly, then asked.
"..." Klein was actually a bit ashamed.
"It is already 1350, the world is about to be turned upside down, and you are destined to be unable to escape this vortex." Azik only sighed lightly.
"I want to contact the current Aegis Family through you." Klein frowned, then explained his purpose.
"Is this the intention of the Evernight Church?" Azik nodded.
"With the Aegis Family in this position, they will inevitably be dragged into the war between the Evernight Church and the God of War Church. I am already mentally prepared."
Klein nodded lightly. This was a struggle between adjacent Pathways; since the Aegis Family belonged to the "Corpse Collector" Pathway, it was impossible for them to stay out of it.
Of course, more importantly, Klein knew that the Aegis Family held a "Pale Emperor" 【Characteristic】, and the God of War Church had just had one snatched away...
"The Evernight Goddess has already obtained the 'Death' Unique and the 'Pale Emperor' Characteristic, right?" Mr. Azik's expression was somewhat complex.
"The Goddess has been unable to descend for this recent period of time," Klein reminded him implicitly; this was intelligence he had obtained from the "Hidden Angel."
"..." Mr. Azik was silent for a while, nodding lightly, not knowing if it was out of relief or regret, having received the information in Klein's words.
If the Evernight Goddess could not descend, she was naturally in the process of mastering or even fusing with the Unique. Once the Unique was accommodated, then no matter what means the God of Death had, he would have to die.
"I will take you to see Sia Palenque." Azik Eggers quickly changed into a formal suit and, taking Klein with him, walked toward the Balam Imperial Palace in the center of the city.
"This is no longer the original imperial palace. The original imperial palace was connected to the Underworld and could even be considered a part of the Underworld." On the way, Azik explained some historical knowledge to Klein.
"The war at the end of the Fourth Epoch had an even greater impact than you imagine. Balam, or rather, the entire Southern Continent, was subjected to terrifying influences in that war."
Klein looked at this ancient building, which already had a history of over a thousand years, and nodded. Compared to the royal palace in Loen, this place lacked golden splendor and possessed more of a deep, tranquil stillness.
"I have come to pay a visit to the 'Pale Empress'." Azik Eggers found a Count stationed in the palace and handed over an invitation letter.
He was actually also visiting this "Empress" for the first time.
"This way, please." This palace Count looked at Azik Eggers with awe and respectfully led the way in front.
In the "Corpse Collector" Pathway, the suppression of status was terrifying. This "Corpse Collector" Sequence 5 recognized the "Death Consul" just by seeing him; his body was trembling slightly, and he almost knelt on the ground to kiss the earth.
Klein also entered this Balam Imperial Palace without any obstruction, arriving at a palace shaped like a coffin.
Tall pillars, dark colors, deep aura; Klein felt as if he had arrived in the Underworld.
"The Empress is waiting for you," the palace Count bowed and said.
"Good." Azik Eggers nodded with a calm expression and walked into the gloomy palace that radiated an aura of death together with Klein.
The palace was large, but because of its shape, it appeared overly narrow and long. The sound of Klein and Azik's footsteps echoed in the palace; it was too quiet, or rather, dead silent.
"Ancestor, you have finally come to see me." A cold and low voice sounded in the palace, drifting slowly.
Klein's eyes lit up. Pale white light mixed with eerie green flames shone, as if bringing the entire palace into the world of the dead, making it even less like the human world.
And as Klein looked up, within his line of sight, deep in the palace was not a throne, but an extremely luxuriously crafted Bronze Coffin.
Various pale white symbols flickered on the coffin; each symbol seemed to be a wraith or a shadow, possessing life, either numb or wailing.
Klein subconsciously withdrew his gaze, forcing himself to shift his attention.
Ancestor... This person is a descendant of Mr. Azik, and can also be considered the orthodoxy of the God of Death.
