Chapter 442: The Death's Contingency
"Pale Empress," the true ruler of West Balam, a descendant of the Death, though her bloodline has already grown quite thin.
In legends, this is an Angel, perhaps even in possession of a relic of the Death.
And from the title "Pale Empress," one can likely guess what the relic of the Death she truly possesses is.

The Bronze Coffin emitted a strange sound and slowly opened; Klein's pupils shrank as he watched the opening coffin, and he lowered his head once more.
His powerful Spirituality possessed a trait of precognition; merely by taking a glance, he was involuntarily divining the contents of the coffin.
This is dangerous.
And as the Bronze Coffin opened, the "Pale Empress" sat up from within.
Klein suppressed his restless Spirituality and looked at this "Pale Empress" again.
"This..." Klein was slightly startled, for this "Pale Empress" did not look like an empress at all, but rather more like a corpse.
On her pale skin, gloomy green runes flickered in and out of existence; her fair features were completely obscured by deathly aura, and the noble robe symbolizing the Emperor of the Balam Empire was also dull and lusterless.
Behind her, there was even a faint shadow of a feathered snake rising within the deathly aura, revealing a certain trait of a Mythical Creature Form.
This was likely the Angel in the worst mental state Klein had ever seen, as if she would lose control the next second.
"You will not succeed." Azik looked at that coffin and suddenly said; his tone became cold, eerie, and aloof, as if he had returned to the state of a "Death Consul."
"You can succeed." The "Pale Empress" looked at Azik Eggers, and finally, there was a glimmer of vitality in her eyes.
Klein observed this "Pale Empress" without a word, "Doesn't feel like much..."
At most a Sequence 2, and because of her mental state, the weakest kind at that.
"That must be it." Klein's gaze landed on the Bronze Coffin.
"The Evernight Goddess has already made all preparations; all your schemes have already turned into bubbles."
"She cannot return from death either." Azik coldly destroyed the last hope of the "Pale Empress."
The "She" here is naturally the "Underworld Emperor," the "Death"!
Klein's Spirituality stirred; he could almost be certain that this Bronze Coffin was the so-called legacy of the Death, and it might even be related to the resurrection of the "Death."
The "Death" naturally would not die so easily; after being pierced by the Spear of Fate in the Fourth Epoch, He must have made corresponding arrangements for resurrection.
And this so-called legacy of the Death might be one of them.
"Evernight..." This "Pale Empress" suddenly seemed to have lost the reason to keep supporting herself; the feathered snake shadow behind her suddenly solidified, and the pale flames all around surged greatly.
The entire palace trembled slightly, and a touch of blackness spread outward in an unstoppable manner; the walls eroded by the blackness seemed to melt, and from within them walked out skeletons with gloomy green phosphor flickering in their eye sockets.
It was clearly these countless corpses that had built this palace.
At this moment, Klein felt as if he had arrived in the world of the dead; the air around him congealed, and there was a deathly silence.
"Go back!" Azik's voice carried power and majesty far surpassing that of the "Pale Empress," and it actually easily usurped control of this palace, causing the melted walls to return to their previous state, and those skeletons also returned into the walls.
Both being "Death Consuls," Azik actually crushed this "Pale Empress" without the slightest effort.
"What a noble bloodline, yet you have betrayed it!" The clarity in the "Pale Empress's" eyes was struck by some terrifying power and shattered with a boom; that feathered snake was even about to swallow her body, and she was already on the verge of losing control.
"Klein, save her." Azik looked at Klein.
Klein nodded silently and reached out to grasp the Causality Thread connected to the "Pale Empress."
He could feel a deathly silence and aura of death, intense to the extreme, coming from the other end of the Causality Thread, but this was not much of a problem for Klein.
The "Dream" Pathway does not lose control, and its "Purification" Characteristic is even capable of suppressing madness and saving those who have lost control.
Klein plucked the Causality Thread as if playing a harp string; Dream Phosphor fell upon the "Pale Empress," providing her with an anchor to stabilize her mind amidst the madness.
"You are the Empress, this is your kingdom." Azik also took action, forcibly awakening the consciousness of the "Pale Empress" with a higher status.
"..." The "Pale Empress" regained consciousness and seized the opportunity Klein provided to stabilize her mental state.
"This Bronze Coffin..." Klein looked at the Bronze Coffin behind the "Pale Empress."
Just a moment ago, it was this Bronze Coffin that erupted with some kind of power that directly crushed the consciousness of the "Pale Empress," causing her to lose control.
This thing is alive!
"Inside this is a complete set of 'Death' Pathway Characteristics."
A complete set? That would be from Sequence 9 to Sequence 1, so it's only missing two Sequence 1s and the Unique?!
Klein couldn't help but take a few more looks; this Bronze Coffin was even more astonishing than he had imagined.
"Not only that, they all come from my Father God." Azik explained.
"From the Underworld Emperor..." Klein blinked, shocked beyond words; then this Bronze Coffin was almost equivalent to a Sequence 1 Death?!
If the remaining Sequence 1 Characteristics or the Unique were found, wouldn't the Death resurrect on the spot?
"Your plan was wrong from the start." Azik Eggers stepped forward, and the Bronze Coffin suddenly developed a response, humming and trembling, as if gradually becoming excited by Azik's approach.
"Mr. Azik!" Klein's spiritual perception sensed danger and he hurriedly spoke up to stop Mr. Azik.
"Don't worry, it's fine." Azik merely smiled slightly at Klein and calmly went to face the nightmare from over a thousand years ago.
The "Pale Empress's" eyes lit up, as if she had seen hope.
As a Sequence 2 "Death Consul" and a descendant of the Death, she would still suffer terrifying erosion and uncontrollably head toward death when using this extremely special "Sealed Artifact."
But as the Son of Death, Azik only needed to walk close to make this Bronze Coffin resonate and become active.
Klein guessed what Mr. Azik was going to do, so he was a bit nervous and had already touched the "Snake of Fate" bracelet.
"Didn't expect this! The 'Underworld Emperor' still had this trick up His sleeve!" Will watched all of this and exclaimed that it was brilliant.
His consciousness was basically all here, especially since he had obtained a "Hidden" from Klein; the main body was likely already foolproof, and he spent his days playing here with Klein.
"If there are any problems later, just 'Restart'!" Klein instructed; one could never be too cautious with things left behind by the "Underworld Emperor."
"Got it! Got it!" Will was also nervously watching Azik walk step by step toward the Bronze Coffin.
