Chapter 9: Destruction Demon Wolf

~7 min read 1,334 words

Besides these few subordinate gods, several of the Destruction Demon Wolf's children also arrived, all of them Sequence 2 Angels, and Gezilate was among them.

Yet no one dared to cause trouble at this time; the Destruction Demon Wolf had already killed more than one of its own offspring.

All the subordinate gods and angels walked honestly up to the mountaintop, where the Destruction Demon Wolf's Shenshen was located.

Amanises crossed a layer of mist, and the view before her suddenly opened up.

Here, there was actually a complex of buildings that could be called magnificent even in later ages, with countless Giants, Elves, and even other Extraordinary Creatures living inside; palaces, cooking smoke, markets—this was the domain of a god!

The moment these people stepped foot here, the entire city-state fell silent.

All the creatures were sluggish and lifeless, their bodies turning in unison, their hollow eyes looking at Amanises and the others.

"Ormir! War!"

The Divine Oracle was transmitted from the mouths of every person, gradually converging into a wave of sound that swept across the entire mountain range; all living beings in this region heard the terrifying Divine Oracle.

Countless low-sequence Extraordinary Creatures exploded, bursting into blood mist; the blood-red color stained the entire mountain range, and gradually, a will filled with violence and destruction awakened in the depths of the Shenshen.

And in the eyes of the four great subordinate gods, the darkness in the deepest part of the magnificent Shenshen moved; the frantic and bloodthirsty aura had a tremendous impact on their mental states.

The God of Death was better off, not suffering the most direct suppression.

Spirit Worms constantly fell from the bodies of the Dark Demon Wolf and Antigonus, twisting and exploding frantically, then turning into points of light, only to return to their bodies again—a repeating cycle.

Amanises showed the same signs; her body seemed about to turn into a pure eight-legged demon wolf, with powers of darkness and concealment running wild; her body was being subjected to Concealment, and the souls she controlled through Shepherd were wailing and shattering!

Yet at this moment, Amanises actually showed signs of madness.

Of course, this was all a facade; Amanises's mental state was very stable, but how could she reveal a flaw here?

At a time like this, if one didn't act a little crazy, how could one blend into the collective?

"Angerweed! Soniathrym!" These were two Ancient Gods who had also fused with materials from multiple Pathways; although they were slightly better off than the Destruction Demon Wolf, they were just as crazy and cruel.

Two blood-red and frantic gazes lit up in the deep darkness; behind the darkness, another kind of power was surging, peeking at Fate.

Yet this surge of Fate power caused the Destruction Demon Wolf's madness to gradually intensify, and the aura of Destruction grew increasingly thick.

War and slaughter were nothing out of the ordinary for the Ancient Gods of this era; the subordinate gods and angels were used to it and did not show any surprise, waiting quietly.

The aura of Fate was still surging, the Spirit World descended, and the entire city-state became bizarre and grotesque; within it, marionettes constantly exploded, turning into part of the Spirit World.

The Destruction Demon Wolf occupied the Fool Pathway and possessed a portion of the Authority of Fate; this move was naturally to peek at the outcome of this battle.

All the angels lowered their heads, waiting for the Destruction Demon Wolf's instructions.

Amanises's eyes were calm and tranquil, without any superfluous emotions.

"Roar!" After an unknown amount of time, the Destruction Demon Wolf in the mist let out a roar, and a strange power radiated outward.

Amanises's eyes became sluggish, and she stopped in confusion, seemingly having forgotten the purpose of her coming here.

Her instincts were struggling, appearing to want to adopt a defensive posture, but some kind of suggestion existed, making her offer no resistance.

The others were the same; Antigonus looked sluggishly at the Father God's marionette, feeling that it should be hung up, as that would be more elegant.

The God of Death looked up at the sky, likely contemplating the profound philosophical question of whether a Phoenix actually counted as a bird.

Gezilate looked at the back of the Goddess of Misfortune and began to doubt himself, then discovered that this enemy, who possessed the aesthetics of both human and demon wolf, did not seem so hateful after all.

The other creatures besides those angels were even worse off, having lost all wisdom and forgotten themselves, becoming fools.

Yet this power was not stable enough to last too long; the next moment, the subordinate gods and angels regained their intelligence, lowering their heads in awe, not daring to show the slightest dissatisfaction.

This was the Authority of "Fooling" mastered by the Destruction Demon Wolf; it was incomplete, but to these subordinate gods and angels, it was already a terrifying power.

"..." Amanises's pupils shrank, and she concealed all her emotions before returning to that calm appearance.

"Advance toward the Giant King's Court!"

The Destruction Demon Wolf's eyes, overflowing with madness, swept over all the subordinate gods and angels; fortunately, the demon wolf was only crazy, not stupid, and did not attack these subordinate gods and angels.

These angels were going to gather "cannon fodder" for this war and could not die yet.

"Destruction be above!" All the subordinate gods and angels dared not say anything else and retreated respectfully.

The Destruction Demon Wolf's eyes remained blood-red, flickering in the mist; the Ancient God was just crazy, but at least possessed basic reason—it was just that they did not need it.

"Chaos Sea!" The madness in the Destruction Demon Wolf's eyes did not diminish as it looked toward the unknown place Above the Spirit World, "Sefirah Castle!"

These were the two types of Source Quality that could be perceived at present.

The Chaos Sea was hidden deep in the earth's core, and those who entered were corrupted, while Sefirah Castle hung high Above the Spirit World, yet could not be found at all.

"Cannot let Angerweed and Soniathrym have any chance!"

The Destruction Demon Wolf's reason surfaced, and it had this realization, but the next moment it fell back into madness; the body hidden under the mist was collapsing and reforming, the Spirit Worms on its body wailed incessantly, and illusory tentacles slapped at Space.

"Sefirah Castle! Sefirah Castle!"

This desire of being able to see but not reach made the Destruction Demon Wolf increasingly frantic.

Previously, the Dragon of Imagination and the Elf King were the same as it, but at this very moment, the power of the Chaos Sea was surging, and they had a chance.

But it still could not reach it!

The desire for Destruction was unprecedentedly intense, and the entire Destruction Divine Kingdom was shrouded under a terrifying will.

Amanises ignored everything, dodged the interception of several demon wolves, returned to her own Shenshen, and subjected herself to Concealment.

At this moment, her emotions truly erupted.

"Destruction Demon Wolf..." Amanises's emotions fluctuated, and murderous intent rose continuously; only in a place like this did she dare to have such thoughts.

The Authority of Fooling was nearly unsolvable for her at present; at any time, her wisdom could be stripped away, causing her to lose the calmness she relied on most.

"Soon!" Soon, the Goddess's emotions calmed down, and she reflected on herself, discovering the difference between her and before.

"My emotions have become richer..." The Goddess chuckled; this was not a bad thing. She had not been in this world for very long, and the scenes of yesterday were still the clearest images in her memory.

After a period of time, the Goddess of Misfortune walked out of the Shenshen again, wearing a battle skirt and holding a giant scythe, and under the cover of night, led the many Extraordinary Creatures of the Darkness Pathway on an expedition to the Giant King's Court.
