Chapter 8: Amanises
"It really is a miracle that he's managed to live this long," Chumen remarked with a scoff.
"He... was born this way." Sasriel was quite helpless; he felt exhausted serving as the Vice Sovereign of Heaven.
"Hello, I am Leodero." It was the furious Leodero opposite them who reacted first, suppressing his own anger to introduce himself.
"Greetings, guest from afar, I am Osekus."
At this moment, a man wearing a white robe walked over, full of smiles and vitality, his short golden hair shimmering under the sunlight.
The feeling he gave Chumen was very similar to the Ancient Sun God.
"You have already met the Angels under the Sun," Sasriel said, introducing Chumen to these Angels.
"They are not weak compared to the Ancient Gods."
Compared to a single Ancient God, they were naturally not weak, but the Ancient God alliance was something even the Ancient Sun God had to be cautious of.
Moreover, the few Ancient Gods whose Authority the Ancient Sun God intended to reclaim all belonged to the two major camps; if he did not sow discord, no one could withstand fighting six at once.
Chumen was here to push for exactly that.
The two continued to tour the Sun God's God's Kingdom, with the three Angels watching from afar.
"Why do they feel so weak?" Medici was puzzled. "But I actually don't dare to make a move against him; even just Provoking him feels like it would lead to trouble."
"You two, who is going to challenge him?" Medici goaded the other two.
"I'm not an idiot," Leodero snorted, signaling he wouldn't fall for it.
"Oh, really? How come I didn't know that?" Medici blurted out a Provocation, nearly causing Leodero to bristle again.
"We may be about to face a war." Osekus's smile faded, his tone grave.
"That would be truly wonderful!" Medici raised an eyebrow; with his legion to support him, he was in his strongest state, and war was what he was best suited for.
"This place..." Chumen looked in astonishment at a city before him that was several times more magnificent than Silver City; this thing was at least thousands of years ahead of its time.
Ancient Greek colonnades, Byzantine domes, Gothic spires—those architectural styles that had vanished in the passage of time were reborn in this God's Kingdom.
"Using Beyonders as construction workers, that really is a feature of yours," Chumen chuckled.
There was no shortage of low-Sequence materials and Beyonders here; they only needed to pass a simple selection to be granted a Potion.
For the humans of today and even later generations, this place was a true Kingdom of God.
"This place will be the future," Chumen finally evaluated.
The fact that the Ancient Sun God could become the Creator of the Third Epoch could be glimpsed from this.
"Why is the Vampire Progenitor called Lilith?" After touring that massive city, Chumen asked Sasriel.
"The root of all humanoid Ancient Gods is human," Sasriel said.
Chumen nodded lightly.
"However, Lilith has maintained her humanity well; she is the only one worth cooperating with."
Sasriel was very satisfied with the cooperation partner chosen by Chumen and the Goddess.
"I have already received news that the Demon Wolf clan has set off toward the Giant King's Court."
The Goddess caused trouble so quickly? Chumen was somewhat surprised.
"This is related to the commotion you caused in Silver City."
The appearance of the Chaos Sea aura caused the Demon Wolf, which occupied the Fool Pathway, to awaken from its slumber, and the location of its appearance made the Demon Wolf vigilant.
Demon Wolves and Giants were locked in a life-and-death struggle, thinking of devouring each other at every moment, and the Demon Wolves were even crazier; once the desire for Destruction was stirred, it was irrepressible.
"Affected by this, the eyes of all Ancient Gods are focused on the Giant King's Court."
"... Then I must have a good laugh!" Chumen chuckled and shook his head.
Roughly around the time Chumen met with the Ancient Sun God, the chaos triggered by the fluctuations of the Chaos Sea Source Quality had already begun.
In the God's Kingdom of the Destruction Demon Wolf, within a rugged yet tranquil Shenshen, a figure was outlined.
The God of Misfortune Amanises opened her eyes and stepped out from a state of Hidden; her expression was indifferent, as if a suppressed madness was pulsing within.
She walked out of that rugged Shenshen and looked out over a vast, endless primeval forest and a massive mountain range that towered into the clouds, its peak hard to see.
Further away, several terrifying giant beasts seemed to be rolling about, the howling of wolves incessant, making the earth tremble.
The Goddess walked in silence, heading toward the summit of the mountain range, as if on a pilgrimage, very devout.
"Awoo!" A wolf howl came from the towering mountain range, the heavy malice unmasked.
The God of Misfortune Amanises remained calm, facing the massive Demon Wolf blocking her path.
This Demon Wolf was terrifying, lying across the path like a small mountain; its entire body was covered in dark, short fur, its eight wolf legs were exceptionally thick and powerful, and its pitch-black eyes stared at Amanises, filled with malice.
"I want to challenge you! The position of God of Misfortune belongs to the great Gezilate!"
The Demon Wolf spoke, strange light flickering on its body; it was the most concentrated and deep darkness, with the power of Hidden and fear spreading, a Symbol of silent Destruction and passing.
Amanises looked behind the Demon Wolf, where several similar Demon Wolves were peeking; if Amanises showed even the slightest weakness, she might be torn apart and eaten by this pack of Demon Wolves.
A crazy Ancient God might need a subordinate God of Misfortune, but would not care who served as this subordinate god.
And this was just the daily routine of the God of Misfortune.
These Demon Wolves could not be killed, and they were truly annoying.
Amanises was clearly accustomed to this daily routine of being challenged the moment she stepped out; she merely glanced indifferently at these walking Characteristics and walked away directly.
"Roar!" The eight-legged Demon Wolf roared, the power of fear and Hidden spilling out along with the darkness.
But Amanises simply walked away, her own form turning into a pencil sketch, erased by an eraser, and when she appeared again, she was already at the summit.
The power of Hidden and Misfortune was very strong; those eight-legged Demon Wolves, equivalent to Sequence 2 or Sequence 3 of later generations, could not see her back at all, but they were somewhat annoying...
"Amanises."
Another Demon Wolf walked over, but this one was different; it did not have that terrifying power on its body, and it was much more elegant than the other Demon Wolves, with crystalline Spirit Worms occasionally burrowing in and out of its skin.
"Antigonus." The Goddess nodded lightly. Not long after, another Demon Wolf arrived; this one was similar to Antigonus, its pitch-black pupils occupying three-quarters of its eyes, with a tuft of white fur on its forehead.
"God of Wishes", Dark Demon Wolf Kotar.
Hmph! Antigonus glanced at Kotar with disgust and walked forward on his own.
Ahead was another half-human, half-beast creature of Godhood, covered in black and white feathers, with a head closer to that of a bird, and eerie symbols on its pale white skin, radiating a dense aura of death.
God of the Dead, Salinger.
