Chapter 247: Night Wind
Luo Qi exited the Consciousness Space, instantly losing the fluidity and swiftness he had in the Consciousness World; whether it was his brain or his movements, the feeling of coming and going like the wind was gone, and it really felt a bit like falling from the clouds into a gravity trap.
Du Zhengyi steadied him, and only then did he realize he had almost fallen to the ground.
Luo Qi said muddledly, "No wonder those experts always sit cross-legged; it turns out it's so they don't trip when jumping off the vehicle."
"Are you alright?" Du Zhengyi looked him over carefully.
"The real world is still warmer, and seeing you puts me in a much better mood," Luo Qi said vaguely, suddenly snapping back to reality and realizing that the current time was real time, no longer the flow of time in the Consciousness World, and it simply wouldn't allow him to talk nonsense and waste time.
Du Zhengyi also looked at him suspiciously, and he hurriedly said, "The real Seal Beast is arriving soon. If you agree to synchronize, I can transmit the Seal Beast's biological information to you right now."
"Impossible," Du Zhengyi said calmly, "Say it with your mouth like a person."
"Fine," Luo Qi sighed, observing the surrounding terrain while introducing the general situation of the Alien to Du Zhengyi, though he omitted the annoying details.
Luo Qi mechanically repeated the strength of the Alien's various muscles, the height of its jumps, the speed of its nerve reflexes, and even included its visual capabilities and hearing range. In fact, these dry data points didn't have much special meaning to Luo Qi, and since he didn't want to talk about how close those Aliens were to higher life forms, he had to emphasize several times that these creatures were very strange and should be a formidable enemy that Du Zhengyi had never encountered before.
After listening to his words, Du Zhengyi couldn't help but interrupt him, saying jokingly, "Luo Qi, you don't need to emphasize it anymore. I can understand what these data points mean; the pressure is already crushing enough."
"Oh," Luo Qi said, forgetting that Du Zhengyi had been trained as a Battle Mage. A thought rolled through his mind, "Do you have these things too?"
"What things? Be clear; if you mean tentacles, I don't have those," Du Zhengyi said with disgust, while also considering the terrain.
"I mean, data," Luo Qi said, "For example, muscle strength, nerve reflex speed. Your visual nerves and auditory nerves have been enhanced by Magic, right?"
"Yes," Du Zhengyi said, somewhat reluctant to admit it, "I also have data forms, but why are you comparing me to a Seal Beast?"
"It's nothing," Luo Qi said hurriedly, looking around alertly, "Let me add one more word of nonsense: I suspect their way of appearing might not be the way of wild beasts; it might be a bit like the way special police operate—I mean, with some tactical characteristics."
"Are there Mages behind them controlling their behavior?" Du Zhengyi asked.
"No, I knocked out all the Mind Mages," Luo Qi said.
"Including your old man?"
"Especially him," Luo Qi said, "They... are just a bit cunning."
Du Zhengyi looked at him, "I understand. We might need to go back and look after the Doctor and Xinyue; they can't handle an enemy like this."
Luo Qi hesitated for a moment, "I'm not too sure. I'm studying their brain structure, and there hasn't been much progress yet, but judging from the consciousness of other Mages, the Seal Beast's primary attack target is you."
Du Zhengyi nodded knowingly, not taking it too seriously, nor asking who was responsible for this wicked arrangement. "Understood, staying away from them makes it easier to draw fire."
