The headless corpse lunged toward Luo Qi, a pungent stench of rotting vegetables irritating his nerves, and he felt so nauseated he nearly vomited. Du Zhengyi jumped out after him through the window; his combat experience was, after all, far richer than Luo Qi's, so he was not as bewildered as Luo Qi, and he spotted the clue almost at a glance. "Luo Qi, don't move! It must have retained a conditioned reflex for tracking moving targets!"

"Holy crap, it's already dead and still has conditioned reflexes like that." Luo Qi ran around the tree, instantly thinking that Du Zhengyi must be right; he remembered seeing in a documentary that a snake head without a body could still bite people based on conditioned reflexes. But he dared not stop no matter what. "Damn, damn, damn, you try stopping!"

Du Zhengyi did not chase the Alien Seal Beast; he stood steadily as soon as he jumped out of the window. "Run toward me."

Luo Qi did not need to be told twice; he turned and bolted toward Du Zhengyi, and the Seal Beast also rounded the tree, facing Du Zhengyi's direction. The blade in Du Zhengyi's hand transformed and elongated again, and just when Luo Qi was a hair's breadth away from being chopped by the Seal Beast, he threw the spear in his hand.

Luo Qi heard the wind whistling past his ears and whipped his head around, just in time to see the Alien Seal Beast pinned to the ground beside the bonfire, its body still struggling.

Luo Qi hurriedly backed away, feeling quite depressed. "Is it still not over?"

Du Zhengyi walked to the front, another boning knife appearing in his hand, and without hesitation, he plunged it into the gap in the jacket on the Alien's chest, prying off a piece of the armor plating like opening a tin can. Luo Qi followed behind him, watching nervously as the inside of the Alien's body was indeed covered in a membrane, similar to what he had imagined. Du Zhengyi sliced through the membrane and stirred the knife inside, and the Alien's corpse finally went quiet.

"The nerves are finally severed this time, right?" Luo Qi said, though he couldn't be sure; he clearly saw the Alien's hand-blade still trembling.

"Damn it." Luo Qi heard Du Zhengyi curse under his breath. "Relying basically only on brute force is truly inefficient."

He kicked the Alien into the bonfire, but the corpse did not burn, and Luo Qi heard Du Zhengyi curse softly again.

"Let me, let me," Luo Qi said hurriedly. "I'll summon the Karma Fire!"

"Then please do," Du Zhengyi said, taking the opportunity to maliciously wipe his hands on Luo Qi, smearing all the foul-smelling green Alien blood onto Luo Qi's clothes.
