Chapter 290: The Problem with the Secret Language

~4 min read 659 words

"That makes a lot of sense." Du Zhengyi stood up, left the sofa area, and began to step back, leaving space for Luo Qi. "Hurry up and try it. No matter how this Secret Language works, you won't be able to figure it out until you start using it."

Luo Qi nervously licked his lips. "Once I start exerting my power, you will disappear."

"You aren't worried about that, are you?" Du Zhengyi asked, incredulous. "You know perfectly well that I am just a reflection of myself right now, and the real me is out there in the real world tanking the monsters for you. Stop dawdling, Luo Qi. Even if there is a time difference between the inner and outer worlds, they can't hold up to you dragging your feet like this. If you keep dragging it out, I'm going to lose my life."

"Okay, okay, I get it," Luo Qi said, rubbing his hands together to psych himself up. "We still need to hurry and make a simple plan. Once the Secret Language takes effect, I will break through the Alien Queen's mental shackles. Once I recover my Yajian, I will immediately destroy the mental world of the entire Alien Seal Beast. I still have control over all the Ghosts of the Society right now."

"But you still have to face the reason for your previous failure. Can you detect the individual Aliens that have fallen into hibernation?" Du Zhengyi helped him fill in the gaps in his plan.

"Let's not think about that much for now. As long as I destroy most of the network without stopping, I'll leave it to you to deal with the remaining one or two individual Aliens," Luo Qi said.

"That's no problem," Du Zhengyi said easily. "The key is that you must not go soft this time, and you cannot greedily try to dig any information out of the Queen's memories again. You must reap the Yajian cleanly and decisively. Even if this gives you nightmares later, you have to give it your all right now."

"Don't worry," Luo Qi said. "Only one side can survive. I have to make sure my own people survive; I understand."

"Good! Then we'll all survive!" Du Zhengyi clapped his hands lightly, his calm and confident demeanor very infectious.

Luo Qi's heart settled slightly, and he began to chant the first two words of the Secret Language with all his Yajian, and then, he got stuck.

"What's wrong?" Du Zhengyi asked, frowning.

"I suddenly thought of a paradox," Luo Qi said hesitantly.

"Damn it, why do you have so many paradoxes! All talk and no action is a sham; can't you just take a step before you start thinking for once?" Du Zhengyi said.

"Every time I take a step first, I cause trouble, and I get beaten by you afterward," Luo Qi shouted. "Isn't it you who keeps telling me to think more? Look, this thing is really strange. I once used the same method to imprison my dad's Yajian. If he knew a Secret Language could break through an Imprisonment Spell, why didn't he use it?"

"Who knows? Maybe the side effect of using this Secret Language is that it kills the person who cast the Imprisonment Spell along with it. Your dad didn't want to lower himself to your level and didn't want to kill you; is that so strange?"

Luo Qi thought about it. "If you put it that way, that's true."

"Then stop talking nonsense. If you're too nervous, I'll count down three, two, one for you," Du Zhengyi said.

"Alright," Luo Qi muttered, beginning to clear his mind of distractions and focusing all his Yajian on thinking about the Secret Language. At first, nothing changed. Luo Qi focused his attention even more strictly, and the world around him disappeared. But he vaguely knew that Du Zhengyi was still there, and his world remained as steady as Mount Tai.
