Chapter 165: Picked Up a Scarlet Witch

~6 min read 1,126 words

Karl's breakthrough threw Kamar-Taj into chaos.

The main reason was that many ancient buildings had started sprouting again, making them impossible to live in.

The wood used in those buildings had all been dried and treated many times. Some buildings had even been reinforced with magical runes.

After they began sprouting again, cracking and popping sounds could even be heard from inside them at night.

Naturally, all the ancient buildings could no longer be used.

Fortunately, Kamar-Taj did not lack other buildings.

They could take the opportunity to renovate the rooms.

For the sorcerers, lavish palaces were not popular.

But no one objected to living more comfortably either.

For a time, Kamar-Taj became busy again.

Many ancient relics had to be protected.

The new branches growing from those ancient buildings also contained immense life force.

They had to be harvested as quickly as possible, then preserved through special methods and stored in a dedicated seasonal vault for future use.

In a way, Karl's breakthrough had brought Kamar-Taj enormous trouble, but also enormous opportunity.

This was the power of the strong.

Why could a powerful individual develop an entire faction?

Because with every casual movement, they could release a domain-like pressure that affected an entire area.

That was extremely important for developing a faction.

Knock, knock, knock!

While Karl was thinking, a knock came from outside the door.

"Come in."

Karl spoke.

Mordo pushed the door open and walked in from outside.

"Teacher Mordo, why are you here?"

"Is there something that requires me to act?"

Karl asked.

For the past few days, Mordo had been very busy. He had been so busy he barely had time to breathe.

All kinds of matters needed him to handle them.

How did he have time to come here?

"There is indeed some trouble."

"Our sorcerers captured two troublesome people."

Mordo spoke.

"Two troublesome people?"

"What makes them troublesome?"

Karl asked with interest.

The sorcerers of Kamar-Taj might not seem conspicuous inside Kamar-Taj itself, as if they could be found everywhere.

But outside, Kamar-Taj's sorcerers were still very powerful.

Most people in this world were ordinary.

For even the sorcerers to find them troublesome?

Who exactly were they?

"I'm not sure either."

"One man and one woman. Two young people."

"Both of them possess considerable abilities."

"One of our sorcerers discovered powerful energy fluctuations coming from them and wanted to speak with them, hoping to guide them into Kamar-Taj."

"But the two young people were extremely wary, and they started fighting the sorcerers on the spot."

"They injured two of our sorcerers before trying to flee."

Mordo explained.

Karl became a little interested.

They could actually injure sorcerers sent out to recruit new students?

They had some skill.

One had to know that Kamar-Taj's sorcerers responsible for recruiting students were not simple people.

They were all Master Sorcerers or the most experienced sorcerers.

Anyone capable of injuring sorcerers of that level would probably be able to hold a place among the Avengers.

Where had such people suddenly come from?

With a hint of curiosity, Karl said,

"Let's go take a look."

"I'd like to see where these powerful people came from."

After saying that, Karl took the lead and walked out.

Kamar-Taj's teleportation hall was connected to places all over the world.

From there, the sorcerers of Kamar-Taj could quickly reach every corner of the globe.

After all, even for a Master Sorcerer, teleporting across half the planet was not an easy thing.

This was the true essence of Kamar-Taj.

Those two so-called troublemakers had been brought back by the sorcerers through the teleportation hall.

Karl brought Mordo with him and quickly arrived there.

They did not wait for long.

A sorcerer soon walked up with two people.

They were bound by magical chains, their expressions both frightened and furious.

"Wanda? Quicksilver?"

Karl could not help saying when he saw them.

Mordo asked,

"You know them?"

"Not exactly. I've only heard of them."

Karl coughed.

He had not expected this.

This really was somewhat beyond his expectations.

Quicksilver's ability was strong, but it was only enough to make Karl admire it.

But Wanda, the Scarlet Witch, was a different matter entirely.

The Chaos Magic she controlled was one of the ultimate powers in this Marvel world.

Her power could even alter souls and destroy matter.

Before she had even fully grown, she had been able to tear Thanos apart with her bare hands.

That showed how tyrannical her ability was.

And the sorcerers of Kamar-Taj had actually captured someone this fierce?

The sorcerer who went out to recruit new people truly had good judgment.

Wasn't Wanda an extraordinary talent?

Karl's expression became strange.

He had not expected Wanda and Quicksilver, the siblings who had disappeared after HYDRA was destroyed, to end up in Kamar-Taj by sheer coincidence.

He had to make these two stay.

That was Chaos Magic!

If he could learn it...

Hiss!

That would truly be incredible.

"Who are you? Why do you know our names?"

Wanda asked warily.

"My name is Karl, the Sorcerer Supreme of Kamar-Taj."

Karl spoke with a faint smile.

"Who are you people?"

"Why did you capture us?"

Wanda's eyes were full of vigilance.

She had experience being kidnapped, so she was extremely wary of this sorcerer with an unfamiliar face.

"Miss Wanda, first of all, you are mistaken about one thing."

"You injured our sorcerers first, and only then did we have no choice but to capture you."

"It was not because we wanted to capture you."

Karl spoke calmly.

"Hmph."

"Those are all excuses."

"You people must have had designs on us from the beginning."

"Otherwise, how could you have found us siblings?"

"You damn people!"

Wanda angrily rebuked him.

Karl rolled his eyes.

Although Wanda was indeed attractive, fair-skinned, and beautiful, Karl was not that shallow.

If he wanted women, what kind of woman could he not find?

What he was interested in was Chaos Magic.

"Found you?"

"Do you really think you were hiding well?"

"The power on your body is so obvious to a sorcerer that it can be seen from several kilometers away."

"Finding you was far too easy."

Karl spoke calmly.

"I don't believe you."

Wanda glared at Karl angrily.

Karl did not argue. He merely waved his hand.

"Release them."

After Karl finished speaking, the sorcerer did not hesitate.

Magical light flickered in his hand.

The magical chains binding Wanda and Quicksilver vanished instantly.

A broad smile appeared at the corner of Quicksilver's mouth.

They had actually released him?

Then no one would ever be able to catch him again.
