Chapter 1761: [Wing Armor] (Part 2)

~7 min read 1,335 words

Hu Xiaotian pressed another button, and an invisible lifting force came from his back, as if an invisible big hand grabbed his body and flung him violently upward. Hu Xiaotian saw his head about to hit the cabin ceiling; he covered his face with both hands, braced his arms against the ceiling, then his body plummeted straight down. This invisible thrust pushed Hu Xiaotian forward like a rocket. Bei Ze Lao Guai hurriedly jumped aside to avoid being implicated. Hu Xiaotian knew he must have accidentally hit the flight key; he hurriedly pressed the third button. Not pressing would have been fine, but this press made his body spin like a top, his head slammed heavily into the wall, leaving Hu Xiaotian dazed and dizzy.

Fortunately he wasn't knocked senseless, and he didn't dare keep pressing. Thinking quickly, he drew the light sword from his waist in one motion. The power of this wing armor comes from the light sword; as long as the wing armor's energy source is cleared, it will naturally stop this crazy torment.

As expected, after the light sword was drawn out, the wings swiftly retracted and merged, automatically stowing into the backpack.

Bei Ze Lao Guai clicked his tongue in amazement: "I have seen wing armor before, but they were all made of metal; I have never seen wing armor like this." Hu Xiaotian thought to himself, "Not only have you not seen it, I haven't either." Anything that these extraterrestrial guests treasure in their aircraft is obviously important high-tech equipment. Although I was thrown down in a mess, I have some idea of the wing armor's functions. The aircraft interior is too cramped to deploy it; once I get free, I'll find a spacious place to practice properly. If I can use the wing armor to fly freely, that would truly be adding wings to a tiger.

Bei Ze Lao Guai naturally looked envious, while also feeling some regret—he should have entered the lower hold first, first come first served; this treasure ought to have been his. Seeing Hu Xiaotian don the wing armor, his physique became more robust and upright, looking far more imposing than his own insect armor. Bei Ze Lao Guai felt even more remorse, lowered his head to look at the large skull he held in his hand, feeling as if Hu Xiaotian was teasing him, and casually tossed the skull onto the ground, thinking to himself, "What the hell use is this thing?"

Hu Xiaotian stepped forward, picked up the skull, and glared at Bei Ze Lao Guai.

Bei Ze Lao Guai said disdainfully: "It's just a freak skull; why are you keeping it?"

Hu Xiaotian said: "You are well-informed; have you ever seen anything like this before? Have you ever seen anyone with such a huge head?"

Bei Ze Lao Guai shook his head; indeed he had not seen it, but he still refused to concede: "I think this doesn't look like bone at all; perhaps someone carved it from Lan-colored crystal stone."

Hu Xiaotian said: "As the sect leader of the Variegated Sect, have you ever seen crystal stone so light and airy?"

Bei Ze Lao Guai's old face flushed red from being talked back to, yet he still refused to yield: "Perhaps it's a material we have never seen before."

Hu Xiaotian said: "You truly haven't seen it before, but you should have seen the murals inside the Bone-transforming Prison; if those giant serpents are real, why couldn't this skull be real?"

Bei Ze Lao Guai was speechless; indeed there are far too many things in this world that he has never seen, and not having seen them does not mean they don't exist. He changed the subject: "We should still find a way to leave here as soon as possible."

Hu Xiaotian said: "Since we are under their surveillance, they will soon discover that we have escaped from the Bone-transforming Prison."

Bei Ze Lao Guai nodded and said: "Not bad; they may have already discovered it."

Hu Xiaotian said: "The Wuxian Sect probably doesn't know this place exists; otherwise the things inside couldn't have remained until now."

Bei Ze Lao Guai continued nodding; Hu Xiaotian's analysis was spot-on, and he naturally agreed. He whispered: "Things have gone bad; they may have already come to pursue us, so we should still leave here as soon as possible."

Hu Xiaotian smiled and said: "It looks like you're really frightened by the Wuxian Sect."

Bei Ze Lao Guai's old face flushed red, and he spat: "Afraid of them? If they dare come over, I'll just get my revenge for them locking me up here."

Hu Xiaotian, however, knew that Bei Ze Lao Guai's martial arts and poison techniques were inferior to the Wuxian Sect leader; otherwise he wouldn't have been trapped in the Bone-transforming Prison for so long. If it weren't for me stumbling upon this place by accident, Bei Ze Lao Guai would likely have died here. He and Bei Ze Lao Guai are enemies rather than friends—they have killed many of his disciples one after another, and even devoured the inner elixir of the five-colored spider king that Bei Ze Lao Guai painstakingly cultivated. Yet the reality facing them is that they must join forces to oppose the Wuxian Sect.

Hu Xiaotian said: "We might as well be more patient; perhaps the Bone-transforming Prison still hides many unknown secrets. If we don't leave, they will surely grow suspicious and sooner or later send people to search; by then we will naturally have a way to escape."

Bei Ze Lao Guai said: "What if they never even considered letting us out?"

Hu Xiaotian said: "If that's really the case, we'll break open the crystal dome, let the lake water pour back, and then escape from here."

Bei Ze Lao Guai felt somewhat puzzled; Hu Xiaotian clearly could break open the dome right now and take him to escape, so why not? This kid might have other plans. He looked around and asked: "What kind of room is this exactly?" He had never seen an airship, nor did he have any concept of such things in his mind, so of course he wouldn't think that the thing buried deep underground in the Bone-transforming Prison was actually an aircraft.

Hu Xiaotian didn't explain to him either, merely saying in a low voice: "You ask me, who should I ask? With this effort, it's better to spend some thought to see if there are any other passages here."

Rong Shi hurriedly came before Lady Meizhuang, quietly informing her of the latest situation. Hu Xiaotian's guess was correct: the Wuxian Sect was indeed secretly monitoring everything happening inside the Bone-transforming Prison, but a full day and night had passed, and they had completely lost track of the two.

Lady Meizhuang said: "No matter how great their abilities, they cannot escape the Bone-transforming Prison."

Rong Shi said: "Master, no corner of the Bone-transforming Prison escapes our surveillance, yet they actually disappeared under our noses for a whole day and night."

Lady Meizhuang said: "Didn't the old monster dig a tunnel in there? Perhaps they are hiding inside."

"Should we send someone down to take a look?"

Meizhuang thought for a moment, shook her head, and said: "They are hiding precisely to create the illusion of disappearance, to lure us in; if we send people in to search, they will take the opportunity to subdue our people, find the exit, and break out."

Rong Shi, although he acknowledged that what she said made sense, still felt uneasy: "Even if those two had the best patience, they wouldn't stay in a cave for a whole day and night."

Meizhuang said: "These two are not ordinary folks; let's compare endurance—good! Let me see who between us can hold their composure better."

These past two days I went to Nanjing for a meeting, so the update is short—only two thousand characters; please forgive me, Zhangyu is really exhausted! (To be continued~^~)
