Chapter 193: Theoretical knowledge is quite abundant

~8 min read 1,465 words

The suite's temperature control system seemed to have failed; the temperature kept rising. It was already October, but it felt like midsummer August, and everywhere I touched was slick with hot sweat.

Originally two wall lamps were lit, but Xu Yanfeng turned one off, leaving only one for seeing.

The kiss lasted a long time, both firsts; he didn't want to rush, only wishing to give her the most perfect, comfortable experience, despite his lack of experience. But it was obvious that Xia Xi could never be judged by conventional thinking.

She was even more eager than he; her sweat-drenched arm reached out from under the blanket, searching for a tool.

While searching for something, she also had to respond to his kiss, and she was flustered. Her hand fumbled wildly over the nearby nightstand, coming up empty each time; she furrowed her brows, wondering, 'How come this high-end hotel isn't equipped with safety measures?'

Impossible.

Xia Xi denied her guess, carefully feeling around, and finally she found it; her eyes lit up involuntarily.

She clenched the small square box in her hand, its sharp edges digging into her palm.

Xia Xi devoted a bit of attention, tearing open the packaging in the dim light, her full red lips uttering a few words as she leaned to Xu Yanfeng's ear: 'Do you want me to help you?'

Xu Yanfeng startled: 'You have a lot of experience?'

Xia Xi pinched one between two fingers, smirking in the crook of his neck: 'My theoretical knowledge is quite extensive.'

Xu Yanfeng had nothing to say, he took it from her hand, meaning she didn't need to do it for him; he would do it himself. His lips descended again, sealing her babbling mouth; she gave a muffled 'mm' and wrapped her arms tighter around his neck.

'It doesn't hurt much.' Xia Xi's fingertip traced irregular circles on his chest, an unconscious gesture full of trust and reliance. She murmured to herself, 'Or maybe it's just that your technique is good.'

Xu Yanfeng: '……'

His free hand reached over and covered her mouth.

Xia Xi licked his palm; he suddenly withdrew his hand, a tingling sensation shooting up his heart, the feeling coming on quickly. Mindful of her body, he tightly shut his eyes, held his breath, and suppressed the urge.

He knew some things become addictive and hard to control, but for her sake he would do his best.

Xia Xi still didn't know anything, blinking innocently: 'I'm praising you, huh—don't you have any reaction at all?'

His reaction was huge! Xu Yanfeng lay flat, his arm uncomfortably resting on his forehead, breathing heavily: 'Just shut up.'

Xia Xi was now excited, her head full of all kinds of questions, pulling one out and asking it without any logic: 'Baby Xu Yanfeng, am I the first girl you've ever liked?'

Xu Yanfeng didn't answer. She had asked similar questions before—after their first kiss, she had pestered him, asking if she was the first girl he'd ever kissed. In his view, the two questions were essentially the same; she already had the answer, so he needn't repeat it.

He didn't understand why she wasn't the least bit tired, still energetic and asking questions left and right; he wondered if his technique was really that good, and self-doubt crept in.

Xia Xi was worked up, not easily fooled; when he stayed silent, she coaxed and pleaded, employing all sorts of clingy tactics. Xu Yanfeng had already been enduring, truly afraid of her; after a moment's thought he gave her a definite answer: 'Yes, you're the first.'

He had too many firsts taken by her.

If there truly existed a mutual generation and destruction between people, Xia Xi would certainly be his bane, and also his sole lucky star in this life.

Having gotten the answer she wanted, Xia Xi was satisfied; she pulled the blanket over her face and laughed for a while, her thoughts wandering elsewhere, then she suddenly leaned in to kiss the corner of his mouth and confessed: 'What should I do? My possessiveness toward you seems to be growing stronger. You won't think I'm a pervert, will you?'

Upon hearing that, Xu Yanfeng's pupils suddenly lost focus, then after a moment cleared; he turned to face her, gazing into her eyes in the dim, indistinct light.

His gaze was so deep that Xia Xi couldn't read it; her heart shrank: 'Could it be that I hit the mark, and you really think I'm a pervert… mm.'

Not knowing which remark was wrong, he suddenly kissed her, an almost biting, fierce kiss, and she could barely take it.

After a while he finally stopped, but Xu Yanfeng still fixed those deep, solemn eyes on her, as if peering through her body to probe her soul. He remained silent, yet she now somewhat understood—he seemed quite pleased, for the slight tightening of his lip corners lifted upward.

Xu Yanfeng wrapped his arms around her, pondering whether to tell her that he very, very much liked her growing possessiveness toward him, because he felt the same. More than that, what he truly feared was her losing interest in him.

Having possessiveness shows she cares about him; lacking it would make him even more panicked.

Does she even understand?

This idiot.

Xia Xi's eyelids burned; after finally calming her racing heart, his kiss disrupted it again, and she exhaled a long breath: 'I don't like other girls getting close to you—that Cheng shenme yi, I didn't even notice her, yet my heart still feels a bit sour. I also don't like you being gentle with other girls; I only like you being good to me. Of course, I won't begrudge basic social interactions; I'm not that narrow-minded. For example, if a girl outside can't open a bottle cap and asks you for help, I'm happy to watch you assist her, because sometimes I too will be out and unable to open a bottle cap, and I'll be thirsty. Another example: when traveling, if a girl can't pull her suitcase and asks you to lend a hand, I'm glad to help. If a girl is being bullied on the street and you protect her, I won't be jealous. But like today, letting another girl wear your clothes—I can't accept that; I'd explode.'

She spoke in fits and starts, her mouth dry, and had to pause to swallow.

Xu Yanfeng gently stroked her sweat-dampened temples: 'She took it herself; I didn't give it to her.'

Xia Xi: 'I know, I'm not blaming you; I just happened to think of this and said it.'

Xu Yanfeng curled his lips and kissed her forehead. She always appears domineering, but inside she is understanding, resilient, broad-minded, honest, clear about love and hate, eager to help, and so on; her looks are the least of her merits.

'From now on, no more; I'll keep my clothes well and only let you wear them,' he said.

'Haha.' Xia Xi laughed loudly, hiding in his embrace, lifted her head, licked her dry lips, and said, 'I want a drink.'

Xu Yanfeng pulled his arm from under her neck, lifted a corner of the blanket, got out of bed, fetched a bottle of room-temperature mineral water, twisted off the cap, knelt on one knee beside the bed, and with his other hand supported her head, bringing the bottle to her lips without letting her move.

Xia Xi happily enjoyed his service, sipping from his hand mouthful by mouthful; the cool water moistened her throat, making her feel much better.

Xu Yanfeng watched her drink, momentarily lost in thought; he didn't control the angle of his hand well, she couldn't swallow in time and choked, the water trickling from the corner of her mouth down to her jaw and neck, splashing a little on her chest.

He quickly set down the water, pulled out a tissue to wipe her; the loose collar of his baggy robe gaped open, revealing a vista like white snow on a mountain peak; his fingertips hovered half a second, then he averted his gaze, his eyes darkening slightly.

Xia Xi glanced at him, then looked down at herself, realized the issue, and didn't rush to pull her clothing together, smiling with pursed lips: 'Why are you still shy? It's as if you've never kissed before.'

Just now, he had kissed many places on her body.

Xu Yanfeng: '……'

He lay down, turned off the last lamp, and the room sank into ink‑black darkness; his voice a little tense: 'It's late, go to sleep.'

Xia Xi squeezed into his embrace, accidentally bumping into something; in the dark her sharp intake of breath made a loud sound: 'You… I… you how… no, what are you holding back?'
