Chapter 136: Why Not Continue?

~8 min read 1,558 words

When Chang Su came to deliver the clothes, Gu Yan was too embarrassed to look at him, sitting on the sofa with her back to the door.

She heard Shen Yanhui take the bag, and then he said, "Leave the car keys."

"Yes," Chang Su replied.

The voices of the two speaking were unusually calm; Gu Yan admired the thick skin of both of them.

Then came the sound of Chang Su's footsteps as he left.

Gu Yan waited until the footsteps had completely disappeared before turning her head: "Is he gone?"

Shen Yanhui gave a hum and beckoned to her: "Come here."

"What for?" She asked this, but she had already risen and walked over.

Shen Yanhui pulled her into his arms, took her hand and pressed it against his chest, saying in a low voice, "Help me change, hmm?"

Gu Yan stared at him.

Here it comes again, here it comes again; he knew she couldn't stand him speaking in that breathy voice, deliberately seducing her.

"Are your hands broken?" she muttered softly.

"You ruined it, so you should be the one to change it; isn't that reasonable?"

Gu Yan huffed, her hand finding the buttons at the collar, and she began to undo them.

"Fine, considering you're my husband."

She did it slowly on purpose, her fingers brushing over his collarbone, skimming his pectoral muscles, her palms pressed against his abdominal muscles, sliding slowly downward.

Shen Yanhui's breathing hitched for a moment.

She looked up, feigning innocence: "What's wrong?"

He looked at her.

She blinked and continued unbuttoning.

At the fourth button, her fingers lingered on his waist and abdomen, and she only unfastened it after she had touched enough.

The shirt opened, revealing a lean waist and abdomen with distinct muscles and smooth lines. She stared at it for two seconds and swallowed.

Shen Yanhui looked down at her appearance and curled his lips: "Haven't seen enough?"

She looked up, righteous and confident: "Not enough."

He let out a low laugh.

She reached out and slid the dirty shirt off his shoulders. Her movements were very slow, her fingers sliding from his shoulders down to his arms, and then along his arms to his waist.

She touched every inch.

Shen Yanhui gripped her meddling hand.

"What are you doing?" Gu Yan was dissatisfied, pulling her hand back and glaring at him.

"That's a question I should be asking you, shouldn't I?" he chuckled, retorting.

The man was bare-chested, his muscle lines well-proportioned; he was the type who looked thin in clothes but had muscle when undressed.

Gu Yan was righteous and confident: "When you asked me to help you change, you should have expected that I would collect interest."

"Hurry up and lift your arms!" She slapped his pectoral muscle without ceremony and said fiercely.

Shen Yanhui laughed again and lifted his arms as told.

Gu Yan picked up the clean shirt and shook it out. She helped him put it on, buttoning it one by one.

This time she was quite well-behaved and didn't touch him randomly.

"Why aren't you continuing to touch?" As it turned out, he wasn't satisfied, asking with poise.

Gu Yan: "I've touched enough."

Shen Yanhui: "That's enough touching?"

Gu Yan nodded: "Yes, you have to know when to stop, do you understand!"

Shen Yanhui didn't understand and continued to ask: "Then you won't touch tonight either?"

Gu Yan: "?"

Night is night, that's not the same thing, okay!

"It seems you still want to touch," he said leisurely. "Then wash up clean and wait for me tonight."

Gu Yan couldn't be bothered to say more to him, grabbing the suit jacket from the side and tossing it to him: "Put it on quickly, we'll be late soon."

——

As the heir of the Gu family, the scale of Gu Chen's wedding was naturally not small. Coupled with Shen Yanhui's connections, all the prominent figures in Jingcheng had come.

The guests gathered in twos and threes, exchanging pleasantries, talking, and clinking glasses.

But Gu Yan had no time to worry about those things; she had an important task today.

To look after her cousin Qin Yue's daughter, Yuan Yuan.

The little girl was quite well-behaved at first, holding Gu Yan's hand and looking around with her little face tilted up. Ten minutes later, she couldn't stay still.

"Auntie, I want to drink water."

Gu Yan went to get water.

After drinking the water, Yuan Yuan said again: "Auntie, I want to eat that."

Gu Yan went to get snacks.

After eating the snacks, Yuan Yuan blinked her eyes: "Auntie, I want to ride a horsey."

Gu Yan was stunned for a moment.

"What ride a horsey?"

Yuan Yuan pointed to a child passing by; that child was riding on their father's shoulders, laughing gleefully.

Gu Yan: "..."

She looked at Shen Yanhui.

Shen Yanhui also looked at her.

The two stared at each other for three seconds.

Gu Yan put on a fawning smile: "Shen Yanhui, you know how to look after a child, right?"

Shen Yanhui was silent for a moment.

Gu Yan began to act spoiled, coaxing him: "Brother~ just help me out~"

Shen Yanhui was silent for another moment, bent down, picked up Yuan Yuan, and placed her on his shoulder.

Yuan Yuan let out a "Wow," grabbed his hair with her little hands, and kicked her legs in excitement.

"High! High!"

Shen Yanhui stood there expressionless, with a little girl dancing on his shoulder, his hair pulled into a mess, and his suit jacket creased.

Gu Yan stood to the side, laughing so hard she couldn't straighten her back.

Shen Yanhui glanced at her.

That look was very faint, but Gu Yan just knew what he was saying; it was that he would settle the score with her later.

She pretended not to understand and continued to laugh.

Not far away, Sheng Ze and Zhou Wei walked into the banquet hall. First, they greeted Gu Yan's parents, then chatted with Gu Chen and Su Jin for a few moments.

After the pleasantries were finished, the two prepared to find a place to sit for a while.

To be precise, they were looking for Shen Yanhui and Gu Yan.

Sheng Ze looked around, then suddenly froze: "Holy shit, holy shit, holy shit!"

Three expletives were enough to show his shock.

Zhou Wei followed his gaze and also froze.

Shen Yanhui stood at the edge of the crowd with a little girl in pigtails sitting on his shoulder; his hair was messy, his suit was wrinkled, yet his face still wore that "keep strangers at a distance" expression.

The sense of incongruity was off the charts.

Sheng Ze rubbed his eyes: "Is that Old Shen?"

Zhou Wei paused for a second: "It is him."

"What is that on his neck?"

"A child."

"I know it's a child, the problem is... whose child is that?"

"Let's go over and ask."

Just as Zhou Wei was about to walk over, Sheng Ze suddenly said: "Wait."

While speaking, he took out his phone, opened the camera, and snapped a few photos, capturing the precious image.

When the two approached, Yuan Yuan was pulling on Shen Yanhui's hair, directing him to walk forward.

"Uncle, go over there! There are flowers over there!"

Shen Yanhui followed her instructions and walked two steps in that direction.

Sheng Ze opened his mouth, but couldn't say a word for a long time.

Zhou Wei also rarely showed a subtle expression.

Gu Yan saw them first and smiled with her eyes curved: "You're here."

Sheng Ze pointed at Shen Yanhui, his fingers trembling: "This... what is going on?"

Shen Yanhui glanced at him and didn't speak.

Yuan Yuan, however, was enthusiastic and waved her little hand at them: "Hello, uncles!"

Sheng Ze subconsciously replied "Hello," then looked at Shen Yanhui again: "Old Shen, blink if you've been kidnapped."

Shen Yanhui did not blink.

Gu Yan laughed uncontrollably, then suddenly remembered something and looked to Zhou Wei's side; Fang Qinru was nowhere to be seen.

She asked: "Where is Sister Fang? Did she not come?"

Zhou Wei said: "She has something to do."

Only three words, and the tone was flat, but Gu Yan just felt something was wrong.

Just as she was about to ask again, Yuan Yuan kicked her legs on Shen Yanhui's shoulder again.

"Uncle, giddy-up! Giddy-up!"

Shen Yanhui was silent again, but still walked forward two more steps.

Sheng Ze took the opportunity to change the subject and leaned toward Gu Yan: "Sister-in-law, whose child is this? Why is Old Shen carrying her?"

Gu Yan's attention was pulled back: "My cousin's daughter, Yuan Yuan."

Sheng Ze clicked his tongue twice: "Being able to ride Old Shen like a horse, this little girl can brag about this for the rest of her life."

Gu Yan: "What's so great about bragging about that?"

Sheng Ze was shocked: "This isn't worth bragging about?"

Gu Yan was a bit dismissive: "It's just average, who hasn't ridden a horse when they were little?"

"Can that be the same? That's Shen Yanhui!"

As Sheng Ze spoke, he took out his phone again; this time he had to take a close-up. He would print it out later and admire it from time to time.

Gu Yan was even more dismissive.
