Chapter 10: Healing Stone and Soul Stone

~6 min read 1,013 words

Healing stones made from the soul fragments of intelligent life are the most effective, but soul fragments from ordinary animals can also be used.

Hearing this, Plague Kuinyin was somewhat bewildered! This kind of green stone that heals life actually requires consuming other living beings—human or animal life! Is this a mistake? It's too weird!

He had thought it was some new technology, but he never imagined it actually consumes life.

"It actually requires consuming other living beings to make—this is too weird!" Kuinyin said.

"There's no way around it; to heal injuries, you must consume life force. What possesses life force? Only life itself." Luode said.

There's no choice; Luode's current level is roughly equivalent to having just graduated from warlock apprentice to a true warlock.

His current mana and mastery of fel energy are still insufficient to directly create a soul furnace using fel energy alone, then have everyone expend energy to craft healing stones for himself.

If he could advance to a high-ranking warlock, he could use powerful fel energy to summon a soul furnace, then have professionals expend their own energy to craft a healing stone.

Of course, this kind of healing stone is temporary, lasting only 24 hours; if unused within that time, it will automatically dissipate.

However, healing stones crafted from one's own soul fragments can be retained permanently.

Warlocks also have a skill to craft soul stones, which in the World of Warcraft is a combat resurrection ability, very practical.

However, in the true Azeroth, Soulstones cannot resurrect living beings; instead, they bind to a target's life force, taking a lethal blow in the target's place.

A higher-grade Soulstone can even directly repair the souls of beings that have not been dead too long and whose bodies are not too severely damaged, resurrecting them.

Naturally, Luode cannot currently craft such high-grade Soulstones, since he has only just obtained the method for making Soulstones.

"You're right; I've also studied this green stone these past few days and found it contains a life energy as well as a very peculiar energy I've never seen before, leading me to conclude that this energy is highly corrosive." Kuinyin said.

"Hehe! This power is called fel energy, a very powerful force." Luode chuckled and said.

"Hehe! Boss Kaido is very interested in powerful power; can you show me how to craft a healing stone?" Kuinyin said.

"Of course no problem; then please, Lord Kuinyin, could you catch a few living creatures for me?" Luode said.

"No problem; do you want humans or marine creatures?" Kuinyin said.

Those engaged in piracy have their hands stained with blood; to them, human life is the cheapest thing.

"Marine creatures will do." Luode said.

Kuinyin nodded, quickly summoning his subordinates; several members of the Beasts Pirates nodded, and two Beasts Pirates members who had not consumed Devil Fruits jumped straight into the sea, soon hauling up several giant sharks. "Luode, come give me a demonstration—how do you use life to craft this healing stone?" Kuinyin said.

"Hmm!" Luode nodded, took out his staff, chanted a fel energy incantation, and green light appeared in his palm.

The several giant sharks thrown onto the gangplank immediately began to roll, their life energy and essence starting to be absorbed by Luode.

Several green translucent lines slowly flowed into Luode's side, while the several giant sharks began to wither before everyone's eyes; in less than a minute, the once lively sharks turned into shark jerky.

Luode also used the sharks' soul fragments, successfully converting them into fel energy, and then crafted three lesser healing stones.

"Sit tight, Mr. Kuinyin; this is the healing stone. As long as it's not a missing limb, crushing it will heal injuries. No matter how severe the wound, it can recover in an extremely short time." Luode said.

Kuinyin nodded, casually grabbed a subordinate, and threw him into the sky.

His arm transformed into a mechanical cannon, spewing blazing flames into the sky.

The Beasts Pirates member flung into the sky was instantly bathed in a fierce flame, then fell to the ground, his whole body scorching, with some parts already charred black.

He looked as if he were at death's door, his mouth gaping wide, unable to make a sound.

"Hehe! Can I test it on him? Can you save this guy? If not, forget it." Kuinyin said.

Luode chuckled, placed a healing stone on the man's chest, crushed it, and a green light enveloped the severely burned pirate; his body began to recover at a visible speed, the burnt skin regrowing, and the charred-outside, tender-inside muscle also began to regrow.

In just a dozen or so seconds, the pirate who had been half-dead from severe burns recovered, then sat on the ground, dazedly looking around.

"Hahaha! What a great healing effect—I'm quite pleased! I'm sure Boss Kaido will love it too; with this, Boss Kaido can easily defeat Whitebeard." Kuinyin said with a grin.

"Frankly, Mr. Kuinyin, if you want to use healing stones to treat Lord Kaido, you need the highest-grade healing stones; ordinary ones can't heal his injuries." Luode's words instantly doused Kuinyin with cold water.

"What do you mean? This guy was on the brink of death from serious injury, and you just healed him, didn't you?"

"It's because he's just too weak—essentially an ordinary petty pirate, at most slightly stronger than an average person—so no matter how badly he's injured, as long as he doesn't die on the spot, the healing stone can fix him."

"But Lord Kaido and you, such powerhouses, are different; your physical strength is immensely great, and your life force is tens or even hundreds of times that of an ordinary person."

"This healing stone can heal an ordinary human, but it may not adequately treat your injuries; if Lord Kaido used it, it would likely only heal minor wounds, or at most restore some stamina." Luode said.

"A bit disappointing, but restoring stamina isn't bad either. All right, go rest; we'll reach Wano Country in a few days." Kuinyin said.
