Chapter 30: Taming

~6 min read 1,169 words

When the situation was at a stalemate and the atmosphere had thickened to the extreme, any slight change could trigger a full‑scale war at any moment.

A figure suddenly descended from the sky and landed in front of Famic.

As everyone's gaze converged on him, Fulade, under the stare of the witches, remained composed and stepped forward.

"I—Ancestor of vampires! Current King of Wallachia! Piercing Grand Duke: Fulade!"

"Everyone present must have heard my name, right?"

His voice rang powerful and oppressive; the condensed might instantly made the dozens of witches present feel a surge of pressure, their breathing quickening.

Just as the witches' minds were captured and they fell into a daze,

a hysterical voice shattered the atmosphere.

"Everyone, don't listen to him; this person must be a fake arranged by Famic!"

When the owner of that voice appeared again, Fulade's eyes flashed with a sharp hue.

He raised his arm, and the old witch who had tried to muddy the water instantly appeared in Fulade's palm!

He paid it no heed, while a look of horror flashed in the other witches' eyes.

Fulade looked at the ugly old witch struggling in his palm with contempt and said, "So you've been inciting the crowd all along, huh? Your nerve is impressive." His tone was cold, his voice utterly flat.

At that moment, the old witch in his hand was already terrified to the core.

She never imagined she would be utterly powerless before this man.

Yet in the blink of an eye, she sealed all the energy within her body.

That made her instantly realize she had hit a dead end.

"Don't kill me; I'm useful, useful," the old witch finally panicked.

"You think you can still survive," he mocked, and the old witch's complexion changed instantly.

"You cannot kill me; if I die, chaos will erupt immediately, and you don't want that."

"Snap~!!"

Seeing her pleas rejected, the old witch instantly shifted tone, half threat, half begging.

Unfortunately, before she could finish, the disgusted Fulade snapped her neck in one hand and tossed her away.

It sounds long, but it only took a moment; before the witches could recover, the old witch's corpse was already thrown before them.

Looking at the witches who stared in horror before him, Fulade felt a sudden sense of boredom.

"Y‑you actually killed An Deni Witch," a witch who was close to the old witch said in disbelief.

An Deni Witch held great prestige among the Dark Witches; otherwise she could not so easily stir doubts and suspicion.

As that witch finished speaking, the others gradually recovered from the shock of An Deni's sudden death.

In an instant, the once‑quiet mid‑mountain platform erupted in angry murmurs and questioning; the many witches' gazes grew sharp, dangerous, and restless.

"Hum, clamor~!"

"Huff~!!" "Rumble~!!"

As the sounds faded, in an instant the peak was battered by howling winds, flashing lightning, rumbling thunder, and a sky of black clouds that slammed down, instantly shrouding the realm.

Such a spectacular sight instantly suppressed the previously enraged witches.

Everyone present looked up at the sky in horror, staring in disbelief at the astonishing scene before them.

Even Famic, who had been anxiously standing behind, could not believe his eyes as he stared at Fulade, his face pale with shock.

"This! So strong!" Famic murmured, gazing at Fulade.

"Anyone still not convinced!"

At that moment, a voice rang out like a thunderclap, startling the witches awake.

The witches hurriedly looked toward the source, each trembling, daring not to act rashly.

Fulade stood proudly, his deep gaze sweeping around; the witches who met his eyes flickered or looked away, unwilling to stare. "You have ten seconds to consider!"

"If you wish to join my ranks, follow me, and form a witch of the realm of the extraordinary, step forward."

"If you refuse, I will not force you."

When the words ended, no one responded; everyone seemed to be waiting for something, unwilling to act rashly.

"Ten!" "Nine!" "Eight!"

Famic watched the nervous witches glancing around, seemed to understand something, and stepped forward.

"I, join!"

As soon as the words fell, a flood of witches seemed to find a backbone and rushed to join.

When they approached Fulade, these witches, who seemed arrogant to ordinary eyes, resembled newly‑hatched quails, bowing respectfully before standing behind Famic.

Seeing Famic's action, Fulade's lips curled slightly, giving the exceptionally clever woman an approving glance.

"Six!"

"Five!"

The witches who had been wavering now, seeing so many defect, swarmed like a beehive toward them.

Seeing this, Fulade was pleased and turned his gaze to the few who had not yet come.

"Three!" "Two!" "One!"

After ten seconds, the six or seven witches who still lingered received a meaningful glance from Fulade, then he said:

"I am merciful; I give you three seconds to leave. Those who do not vanish before my eyes may stay!"

Fulade's demeanor was relaxed, his words sounding as if he were discussing something trivial.

The witches, hearing his magnetic voice, felt the air freeze instantly, daring not to breathe a second.

A witch, eyes wide with shock, said, "You promised not to make things difficult for us."

"Indeed, I said I would not force you, so I never made you join."

"Isn't it!"

Fulade looked at the inexplicable woman with a slightly innocent expression, his demeanor very casual, as if he were chatting with a friend.

Besides this dim‑witted Witch who seemed to want to keep arguing, the others had long realized the situation was bad, some turning into crows, others hopping onto brooms and hastily fleeing.

"Oh, dear lady, the time has come!"

Fulade looked at the Witch who had just realized what was happening with a rather helpless expression, shook his head regretfully, and immediately sent her to meet God.

Of course, God might not like her.

Watching the remaining few Witches, who in just a few seconds had already fled kilometers away, Fulade gave a disdainful, devilish smile.

"Today I'll let you see what true power really is!"

As soon as the words fell, Fulade raised his arm high, and instantly a gale rose, with lightning flashing and thunder booming continuously.

Countless bats followed, emerging from the overcast clouds and between the peaks, like innumerable rivers, instantly converging into a black ocean that covered the sky and blocked the sun, seemingly endless.

With Fulade's arm suddenly swinging forward, tens of thousands of bats instantly gathered into a torrent a thousand‑zhang high, like a jet‑black divine arm that pierced down from the heavens.

Such a terrifying scene was instantly taken in by all the Witches.

While grateful, the timid ones felt their legs go weak and collapsed onto the ground.

Even the brave ones weren't much better off.

At this moment, the Witches, after witnessing the terrifying sight, besides being grateful to have survived, could only feel awe toward the man's silhouette before them!

And among them, there were also zealots who were mentally fanatical about Fulade!
