Chapter 32: The Show Last Night

~6 min read 1,040 words

The next day, when the refreshed Fulade woke up.

What he saw was a chaotic bedroom.

Every corner of the room bore the traces of three people.

On the floor lay scattered clothes, a messy desk, toppled chairs, and all sorts of disordered items.

It was clear that last night Fulade had spent considerable effort to educate those two clueless girls.

Gripping the Leather Whip he had held all night, Fulade tossed it aside.

"Hmm, what's scratching me?"

As Fulade turned back in puzzlement, he instinctively reached up to grab the fluffy thing.

"Hmm~!"

A coquettish hum that made one's face flush and heart race suddenly sounded.

Fulade turned back, his expression instantly embarrassed; what he had grabbed was a fluffy white fox tail.

That instantly reminded Fulade of last night when Malisika, looking mysterious, said she would show him something nice.

"Pah, this little girl has more tricks than I do."

Seeing Ailina and Malisika looking exhausted and gaunt, he could tell how the battle last night had gone.

"Sigh, a stronger constitution isn't necessarily a good thing."

Fulade shook his head, gave them a quick glance, and saw their soaring fighting spirit, looking helpless.

Having dressed, Fulade didn't wake the two; after all, they had been asleep for less than three hours, so he let them rest a bit longer.

With that in mind, Fulade pushed open the door and entered the hall of Famic Magic House.

He saw Famic sitting in the hall, yawning repeatedly and sorting papers.

Fulade's mouth twitched into a slightly mischievous smile, his gaze laden with meaning as he looked at the sleep‑deprived Famic and said.

"Hmm, Famic, were you busy late last night?"

When Fulade appeared, Famic's expression turned a bit flustered as she stood up.

She looked like a little girl who'd done something wrong, eyes darting, expression awkward.

"Hmm, just sit down. You look nervous—am I that terrifying?"

Hearing that, Famic looked at Fulade with puzzlement.

Seeing his smiling face, not accusatory, Famic couldn't help but sigh in relief.

Famic thought, "Could it be that he didn't notice me yesterday?"

At that thought, her previously tense mood gradually eased.

But recalling the scene she'd witnessed last night and what happened afterward made her feel a dry mouth and a flutter of anxiety.

"What's wrong, Famic?"

When Fulade's doubtful gaze fell on her, Famic snapped back, gathered her focus and said, "Ah, nothing—just wanted to report last night's arrangements to the adult."

"Hmm, then go ahead."

Fulade sat calmly, as if unaware of Famic's snooping last night, and casually invited her to sit.

Famic, forcing herself to steady her mind, quickly got into the zone and began reporting the night's arrangements and details.

Seeing this, Fulade regarded Famic with renewed respect, recognizing her sense of proportion, clear and orderly thinking, and distinction between public and private—a very mature, rational woman.

What puzzled Fulade, however, was why she preferred to listen from the corner.

"Adult, including myself, there are thirty‑two Dark Witches in total; I've already ordered them to be ready to relocate at any time."

"Hmm, well done. From now on this batch of witches is yours—don't disappoint me." "I won't disappoint the adult," Famic replied excitedly.

Her gaze toward Fulade was also blazing; the nation he described, ruled and formed by countless super‑beings, filled Famic with longing.

If the earlier Famic lacked confidence about the future, after witnessing Fulade's power last night she fully believed he was worth following.

Such a world is not merely a dream.

Seeing Famic's suddenly fiery gaze, Fulade sensed her emotional shift and merely gave a faint smile; that was his very purpose in acting rashly.

It was, of course, within his expectations.

Only the other changes mingled with that fervor were beyond his prediction.

Should he give her a warning? Fulade suddenly entertained that thought.

"Was last night's show entertaining?" Fulade said with a half‑smile.

"Hmm." Caught off guard by the sudden remark, the unprepared Famic instinctively nodded, and only after speaking did she realize.

"Could he already know?" Seeing Fulade's ambiguous expression, Famic's mind fluttered with panic.

Famic's body suddenly twitched, her heart tightening, and she suddenly had a flash of inspiration, saying:

"Ah, I didn't expect the adult's power to be that great."

"It's not just me— even the other witches now hold the adult in reverence and anticipation."

Seeing his slightly flustered gaze, Famic quickly devised a plan and smoothly steered the conversation back; Fulade merely twitched his mouth and didn't pursue further.

As long as the goal is achieved, that's enough.

But teasing the mature‑womanly Famic suddenly seemed rather amusing to Fulade; compared with a young girl, she had a different flavor.

Famic stared at Fulade's profoundly meaningful gaze, her heart racing to her throat.

Just as she grew restless, wanting to speak again, Fulade suddenly stood and walked toward the exit.

Famic stared in astonishment at Fulade's sudden departure, at a loss for what to do.

A voice suddenly sounded in her ear: "Come walk with me outside."

"Hmm, ah, yes, adult." Realizing, Famic hurried to her feet and replied.

The two flew through the sky and soon arrived at the spot where Fulade had unleashed his power last night.

At this moment, the forest's center should have been filled with towering trees and endless stretches of verdant jungle, but after yesterday's catastrophe, there is no trace left of what it once was.

All that remains is a flattened expanse, a blank area nearly a kilometer in diameter.

Even the ground itself has sunk considerably.

Seeing this scene, Famic could not help but breathe rapidly, his face full of disbelief.

Even though he had guessed beforehand, seeing it with his own eyes now, he could not help but feel shaken.

When he looked at Fulade again, the fervor and admiration in his gaze, along with other complex feelings, could no longer be concealed.

After glancing over the area below, Fulade spoke calmly:

"Let's go."

"Hmm, oh~"

Famic, having come to his senses, quickly glanced sidelong at the relaxed, unfazed Fulade, hastily nodded in agreement, and followed after him.

But the hidden fervor in his heart had already begun to churn.
